  1. When we took a cruise to Bermuda this past fall we purchased a $250 voucher for a future cruise on NCL. I just noticed that on CC there was an upcoming cruise for $200 less than what the NCL website offers for the same cruise. This is an internet travel site, (3 different cruise websites to be exact). Do these online travel sites honor NCL's $250 voucher for a future cruise on NCL or is that a moot point. We have never booked from a 3rd party website before. We are a little wary. Thanks

  2. To All My Friends in Bermuda. Good Luck and hope for the Best. The last thing any Island needs is 4000 people off two cruise ships standing around at the Dockyard for three days. I know that BDA is great at recovering from storms, but a Cat 3 is different beast. We live on the coast and got hit hard with Hurricane Sandy, My wife works in the medical field. the morning after Sandy left I drove her to work through an obstacle course. When I got home I had cars parked in my driveway of people from out of state coming down to gawk at the damage. No one helps out, they look and then leave. I've been on the Island for Josephine, Lilly, Dean & and the storm that claimed the lives of 4 people. Stay safe I'm with you and get some rest BELCO!

  3. This will be my 33rd trip to BDA. I've been going since 1976. 30 by air & 2 by sea. I've sat through 3 hurricanes, (and parties) over the years. If the island gets hit with a big one a cat 2 or higher it could be a whole new game. Don't expect many services right away. They need to take care of their island first, and rightfully so. If you rent a scooter you may have trouble getting gas. Public transportation, Buses & Ferries, and roads maybe limited. They will close the causeway to St. Georges. Bars will be open. but the beaches may be Red Flagged. I love the Island and have friends their too. I'm still hoping that the Port stays open, the sky is blue and pink sand. Let's all hope for a BIG right hook.

  4. We are packed and heading out tonight to get to Boston for the Dawn to BDA on Friday. What's with Canada? We would look pretty stupid in shorts and Tank tops. Would we have to chip through the ice to get in the pool? Hot water freezes faster than cold so the hot tubs are out. What port do you go to?

if we divert. We'll take the Bahamas over Canada. We spend more money on drinks around the pool, than drinking tea to keep warm. Marley and rum go better than hockey. NCL might want to fatten up the bottom line...GO South if need be!

  5. Our Son in law is a diabetic. He has to however, watch his alcohol intake and count his carbs. What he likes to drink is a Dark & Stormy. At home he will make it with Sugar Free Ginger Beer. Can he bring SF Ginger Beer on board and ask for a shot of rum with a set up, or is he out of luck?

  6. My wife and I are still new to cruising. This will be only our second cruise, and just like last time we go Boston to Bermuda on NCL, (Norwegian Cruise Line). Could someone please explain what some of the abbreviations that are used. Neither one of us text message, (we still love the Beach Boys on a transistor radio), and that is fine with us since we would rather look at the views as opposed to having a head down looking into a screen. We know what LOL & COD means, but what about, DCS,HSB,OBC,FCR,CAS,FCC, ect.

    Thanks
