Unfortunately we had to cancel due to an illness of one of our traveling partners.  They were very responsive about refunding our deposit.

I was also wondering the same.  We are going on a private tour in Olden with just the four of us in our party.  It was pretty costly.  Does that include tip for the guide who is traveling with us or should we bring Krone with us?  I'm not sure if a private tour is different.  And if we did tip how much would be appropriate?

I would be interested to hear about your experience with this tour.  When do you arrive in Olden? Keep us posted!

Thank you everyone it looks great!  For some unknown reason Celebrity canceled the excursion to de Palm Island.

Has anyone ever been to de Palm Island?  My daughter would like to spend the day at the beach in Aruba and this has snorkeling, beach (with hopefully chairs to sit on) and food included.

Has anyone ever gotten a response from emailing Celebrity?

If you are planning to cancel a cruise and have booked excursions, specialty dining, beverage upgrades or similar that you paid for via credit card I recommend you cancel those before cancelling the cruise.  Refunds for cancelling those are a automated transaction and the refunds to your cr card generally show up in a week.

 

We cancelled a cruise on 10/28 and our TA had the FCCs in a little over 5 weeks.

 

 

I canceled a shore excursion a month ago now and am still waiting on the credit to my credit card and OBC.  I used both to cover the excursion.  I've been refunded neither.

First off -  Yes you need premium and even then if badwidth is thin may have trouble.  To my knowledge all cabin on the ship from inside cabins to Suites have TV's with HDMI connections.  You connect your Stick (Roku or Firestick) to the HDMI and then change source to which HDMI you are connected to.   I've posted a  number of tutorials on how to do this.

 

You first need to connect to the Ships Wifi and have to log in with your credential.   Most of the sticks allow this by using your phone and a code.   

 

You can watch anything that you either have access to or a subscription to.   Some services work better than others YouTube, Netflix and YouTube  TV have very good buffering and quality my shift to very low quality if bandwidth is limited.

 

Yes you can also stream it from your laptop using a HDMI and supposedly cast from an Android devise but i've had trouble with this.  Mainly you have to pick your TV and when it pops up there are 40-50 tv's all listed with the same name.

Your ears must be ringing @Jim_Iain ... Inspector Gadget (AKA Dr. Logi AKA @DJ's DH) has started phase two of packing which includes HDMI cables and all other possible modes of connection and communication. I told him to add the Firestick so we can watch youtubetv. "Genius" was his reply🤣

 

We're in search of our "suite" spot on a mainstream line as we love SeaDream. The only problem, first world of course, is that they spend a short time in the Caribbean and when they sail those dates don't work for the "retired" one.

 

So this test drive, if you will, is how the "ship within a ship" concept works for us.

 

We don't need all the bells and whistles ... We need a place to reconnect and recharge.

 

So I didn't think of this until you mentioned connections and firestick - is it possible if one brought along a firestick to watch MLB while cruising?  What am I missing?  Is this something you can only do if you have a suite?  Do you need premium wifi?  Perhaps stream it with a hdmi cable from a laptop?

We are driving up from Maryland on a Sunday morning in August with a 1:00 boarding time for the Summit.  We are flying back to Newark a few weeks later in the evening.  Will there be any issue catching an uber from the airport to retrieve our car at the port?  Is it open 24/7?  Do you pay when you get there or when you leave?

So we are going on a cruise out of Cape Liberty to Iceland then flying back a week later.  Is the parking open 24/7 because we will be taking an uber/taxi from Newark airport back to the cruise terminal to pick up our car?  Or perhaps parking at the airport might be easier and taking an uber to cruise terminal to board.

We are in the exact situation.  My daughter got married but hasn't changed her name on her passport yet.  I booked the cruise under her maiden name to match her passport.  However, her vaccine card has her married surname.  I'm hoping bringing a marriage license will be acceptable.

What if you have a fixed dining time and do not want to be seated with others?  When and how do you request that?  Do you wait until you are on-board?

If you have a travel credit card like Chase Sapphire Reserve (or Preferred?) do you still need a separate travel insurance?  

This may be a silly question, not having been on the Legend before, but are any of the bars outdoors?  Or are they all indoors?  

Anyone know how late you can cancel?  Can you cancel the day before you're scheduled to cruise?

If you purchase a BinaxNow with eMed two pack is that good for two people?  And a three pack is good for 3 people?  If I purchase a two pack could I then give it to someone else to use if needed?

I wonder if you purchased a shore excursion or cheers package with Carnival using your Southwest Chase credit card if you could get the $35 back.
