  1. Do you mean this dog? I was also on the Freedom last week.

When I first encountered him on the cruise terminal before embarking, I thought it was a show animal bought in to entertain us while we waited to board. Our embarkation was delayed a couple of hours due to a perceived bomb threat. Seemed that a bomb sniffing dog gave a false positive to a pallet of supplies being loaded onto the ship.

    Seriously???????? Now I've seen everything:lips-sealed:

  2. Just spoke with Princess & they have no idea why pricing isn't available online. I think she thought I was a bit of an idiot. According to her she had no problem accessing the pricing online. Doh!!!!!! She also asked if I was sure I was Elite...She had my member number, she should have known. Doh!!!!! I am most certainly Elite. Oh well, going to ring again & see what response I get. I have lots of itinerary I want to look at & prefer to peruse cabin availability & book myself. If all else fails I'll wait until tomorrow. No perks there.:(

  3. Were you booking a balcony or higher?

Also, being logged in makes no difference, the system does not recognize that you are a C&A member.

When starting the booking, on the page where it asks for the number of guests in a cabin there is a spot that you can select to bring up “exclusive rates”. You must select this and enter your C&A number here as well as senior, police, fire or military in order for any discounts to apply.

Thanks for that tip. Certainly makes a difference in price.

  4. During the latest P&O 3 day sale I booked a guaranteed non-obstructed ocean view cabin. This was on a 7 day Brisbane, Airlie Beach,, Cairns o/night, Willis Island itinerary. All up, for 2 pax, cost $1178. Works out at $84 per person, per day. Guaranteed balconies were roughly $1800. Pretty good value in my opinion. I don't normally book guaranteed cabins, but have done so a few times with P&O & have been lucky enough to get a pretty good cabin.

  5. They only have to change the taps in four bars (3 of them outside). That's all there is apart from restaurant bars. Not much for 3000 thirsty passengers. No Horizon Court looks like buffet at World Fresh Marketplace. Call it whatever but I don't fancy any buffet on a ship with over 3000 people. Some serious pushing and shoving and good luck getting a seat.

We were on the inaugural cruise from Singapore to Shanghai , June 2017. On a personal note, we really liked the Majestic. This has been our largest ship & it was nice to be on board where everything is shiny & new. The Horizon Court is now known as Worldwide Marketplace. We found it could be quite busy at breakfast & lunch, depending what time you went, no worse than any other cruise ship buffet. In the evening we never had any problem finding a seat & we ate about 6.30 to 7pm. The seating area is really big & split into 2 sections with different dining furniture. You are free to sit anywhere you like. The Worldwide Marketplace served the usual buffet fare. Our voyage had a little more Asian choices.

We loved the Piazza & International Cafe area.Spectacular. You are quite right, it was the hub of the ship with various entertainment, including short acts lasting about 10 minutes eg acrobats, dancing, dance classes etc. So, it did get very busy, even when there was nothing on. Best IC coffee we've ever had.

Leaves tea bar on deck 7 also made made specialty coffee, but did not open until 11am. As the ship stands at the moment, there is 6 bars. There isn't one in the casino but whilst on board we where told there is an area already to go, just need to remove the wall panels:confused:. We also heard the ship might be going into dry dock prior to its Australian season for some changes. Not sure if either is true.

We boarded the ship with no expectations. It was a totally new ship for us & we expected it to be different to the usual Princess ship home based in Australia & it was. We missed the walk around promenade deck, the choice of venues for trivia was really poor, Princess Live! :(

Much comment has been made about it being built for the Asian market, this is correct. Signs were in English & Chinese.Yes, there are venues specifically aimed at the Asian Market, ie high end shops, private karaoke rooms & high rollers room in the casino. but we did not feel any overwhelming Asian-ness about it.

But overall, we had a great time, adapted to the changes & embraced them.

Hope you decide to cruise on Majestic, but I know it may not be to everyone's taste.

    Sorry if I rambled on a bit.:o

  6. We just got off a 10 day Panama Canal cruise with Princess... they had built in dvd movies on the tv's

So many too choice from.. along with "series shows" some repeats but again

I like to unwind after a long day watching tv and it helps me fall asleep.. lol

That's one of the things we like about Princess, cabin TV's have movies on demand.

  7. Idk what ship you will be on but some remotes on some ships dont have the output button to change the output to that hdmi port in back. I believe its purposely done. But I got around it by bringing a universal programmable remote. 5 bucks. Then I can change the out put via my remote. But I use it to watch saved movies on ipad. Same thing.

We'll be on Ovation. We have just bought the HDMI cable. If things don't work as planned, no problem.

  8. Why are u on a cruise watching dvds even if it’s for the kids put them In the kids club. U can watch dvds at home but it’s ur money and ur choice. Enjoy

Nokids, but that's none of your business. I asked a simple question that some seemed to answer without judgement or criticism. You know nothing about us. But seeing as though it has caused you to reply, let me explain. We like to spend a quiet evening in our cabin & enjoy watching movies. Does that satisfy your curiosity? If this sounds snarky or snippy, good, that was my intention. I do not generally post on CC or ask questions. Now I know why. I do appreciate the useful answers from others.
