I'm afraid you and I will simply have to agree to disagree on what we consider "simple" in this regard. Moreover, "simple" alone in the context of customer service doesn't automatically imply either "sufficient" or "excellent" - at least not to me. Cheers.
As others have stated, I "highly" recommend calling the air department and "deviation" for your flights. I have now done this 6 times without any issues whatsoever. Good luck!

Thanks for your comments. Two things - first, having to mark the 210-day on your calendar and call seems unnecessarily burdensome to the customer. Why not have a check box when you book your cruise saying you want to fly in earlier? Second, are you saying that when someone calls to deviate, they can request flights that arrive more than 1 day ahead of the cruise? We would want flights 2-3 days ahead.
You absolutely can request flights more than one day before embarking. I recently did that for an upcoming cruise.

Good morning,
This is our 1st sailing with regent seven seas. The Grandeur/ Barcelona to Miami November 25th.
We were loyal Crystal Cruisers. We are having some difficulty with our flights, booked Cruise through American Express Platinum.Regent charges $75.00 to speak to the flight department! Really? I've NEVER heard of such a thing. Thoughts? Thank you!
We will be on the segment preceding yours and then stay for the Barcelona-Miami. Looking forward to meeting you. There is a Roll Call started.

On a previous cruise, we were offered an upgrade through our TA.

Just got 2 emails from Regent that our reservations open Saturday at 8:00 PM.
Not sure if this was part of a mass emailing or if they read question.
mass mailing. Received the same email.

Have a nice day and I will continue to drink my “half full” glass of wine.

From everything I have read, Regent is doing all they can to work through this situation, much like they did when they cancelled St Petersburg as a port visit a couple of years ago. Yes, I was disappointed but certainly didn't go out and yell "they sky is falling". Wait and see is an excellent idea. For those wanting to leave Regent - that is fine - lots of choices out there. Looking forward to my next 3 booked cruises with Regent.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary on the PG a few years ago. I had not yet sailed on Regent so at the time, had no reference to compare. Our experience on G was spectacular. There were under 150 guests onboard. Like Regent, it was all inclusive, service was great, loved the crew. No experience with Windstar but don't think you could go wrong with either PG or Regent.

Tks for response. Sounds like they did their best to help out.

Follow-up question - understand that AQV will "provide" transfer from Clarkston to Spokane airport. Does anyone have experience with this and what the approximate cost?

I make a VERY showy point of using the hand sanitizer when we go into the restaurants, the number of people who don’t are unbelievable…..BUT, what is beyond comprehension are the people who come out of a toilet cubicle and don’t was their hands 😱
Totally agree. I actually had two "gentlemen" walking behind me make a criticizing remark about using the hand sanitizer. Those are the people that may be contributing to the recent uptick in covid and will also be the ones to complain when restrictions are put in place again.

I am US East Coast - all that time it was midnight Eastern time, we never stayed up to book at midnight. Always got up in the morning (at 6 or 7 AM) and booked then. Had no issues - both excursions and dining. Maybe a couple of our first choice dining times were taken, but there were plenty to choose from.
Same here - never an issue waiting until the morning.
-
Will add that I have not encountered this issue in any of the 4 Regent cruises. They normally do present the featured wines of the day but in every instance - if I have asked for something else they have accommodated me with a smile. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

IMHO you should definitely wait until putting the tags on after arriving at destination and prior to boarding.

Thank you Pcardad for your interesting observations. I am glad to learn about some of these things as a stockholder. I hope this CC board does not go back to the way it was awhile ago when so many discussion topics turned into a battle.
Ditto! We have strayed a bit from the good intentions of the forum.

We also were able to do the airboat tour - and enjoyed it. In our case, because we had a later flight home at the end of the cruise, this tour was offered. Recommend it if you get the chance.

We did a Miami btb in Jan/Feb. We did have to disembark - we participated in a hop on-hop off "excursion"

So, are most charters 7 days?
Can't speak to that. Believe our situation was a combination of a short cruise to the Caribbean and in the Spring Break time frame. Just a different mix - am sure everyone enjoyed themselves and there were no BIG problems - just a different feel to the overall experience.

Amen, Amen. Last November, DW and I were on a BtB. First leg was marvelous; second leg was "partially chartered" - awful.

My lesson learned is to not book a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean. Second leg of a longer cruise was not as enjoyable because of the difference passenger profile

Unfortunately, hard to answer that until you know where your hotel is located. The Red Line stops at Pioneer Station, right in the heart of downtown. We stayed at downtown hotels twice - different cruise company - not AQV. Both times we were just a couple of blocks from the river and the ship - easy walk. No issue with luggage. We had just carry-on luggage, but the rail cars were roomy.
On one of our trips, we went a day early, stayed at Best Western Pony Express (free shuttle from PDX, not as expensive as downtown hotels) then next day walked a short distance to the Red Line and caught a ride to our cruise hotel.
Figured as much. Info provided helps. Will work out when the time comes.

We take the MAX light rail service (Red Line). It's fast, cheap, and leaves right from the airport.
Appreciate the info. Does the train get you close to hotel or do you need to grab a taxi from the station? No issue with luggage? BTW - we are just 30 minutes from Charlotte

The only negative we had on both cruises is that the walls in the cabins are thin. Hopefully you have quiet neighbors.
I read that - let's hope.

Portland's airport is small and easy to navigate. There will be taxis, which is how I got from the airport to downtown. Uber is another option, slightly less expensive.
What hotel do they have you at?
Tks - don't have a hotel yet - going in 2024

We did the opposite cruise last April, Starting in Spokane. We landing about midnight (flight delays) and we just called an Uber. About $30 and quick and easy.
You will love the cruise - one of our best ever. We liked it so much we booked an AQV Mississippi cruise for the next July. It was also wonderful. For a river cruise, their entertainment was surprisingly good. The food was excellent, especially the unlimited lobster claws at the grill.
Appreciate the response. Kind of what I had in mind but no harm in checking. Like the sound of the additional information - looking forward to the trip. All info appreciated.

As noted in other messages, room service is from Compass Rose only. We have ordered evening meals several times (Penthouse & Concierge level) and each time the service was excellent. Full service, including beverages. Dishes were picked up afterwards with a single call.
