  1. This is my first cruise with Celebrity, so I didn't know this was a new thing.

According to the person I chatted with on the Celebrity website, $225 is the per couple price (the person on the chat line may be wrong as well that was one of the things I was curious about) obviously $225 vs $450 makes a huge difference in the calculation.

I guess you're not a "mani- pedi" girl.

A dedicated photoshoot with one of the on-board photographers has a value and even more if some pictures are included. Obviously the amount of time you get with the photographer is key

IMHO I can see this working out as a decent value, (at $225, obviously) but it all comes down to the specifics, that's why I wanted someone who knows what they are.

I'll probably ask guest services when we get on board, but since that isn't until March maybe someone else will find out before then

  2. I'm a Megabus fan. They are our preferred mode of transportation to NYC. I don't know what people don't like, but we've never had a problem that was their fault (they can't be responsible for the idiot that rolled his car on the Major Deegan)

That said, there are 2 things I'd mention WRTO Megabus and cruising:

They load their return trips across from the Javits center, like at 34th and 11th. That is a bit of a haul from the port, although I don't think it will make the Ubre fare that much higher.

They have a stated limit of 1 bag per person. I'm not sure how rigorously it is applied, but we usually have more than one bag each when we are cruising

  3. Have you checked out the Auto train? Drive to just south of DC, you and your car get on the train, next morning you get off just north of Orlando.

I'm not sure that I would try to make a cruise ship departure in Miami same day as getting off the Auto Train (you would probably be okay but the "penalty for failure" is rather hefty) but it is a fun trip

I just ran the fare and it is $1,300 for four people and a car

  4. Is there an application form you need to fill in to apply for the role of "Table Talk Moderator" ?

Just because you prefer not to talk about politics doesn't mean that you should stop everyone else round the table talking about the subject - and if you insist on interupting their conversation to get it back on a topic that you approve of, then that's just plainly rude.

Political discussions have the potential to get very ugly very fast, and can ruin the mood at a table for an entire cruise, I prefer that not to happen.

You also assume there can only be one conversation going on at the table at a time, would you consider it rude if while someone was having a conversation I have no interest in I turned to my wife and said "did you go to guest services and book that tour we wanted to take tomorrow" ?

And finally, on the last few cruises I've taken I've been the person to put the table together and the "no politics other than Westeros" rule has been stated up front

  5. Don't bring up politics or religion is an obvious tip!

I make a point of saying at the first night's dinner 'the only political discussions during dinner will be about the politics of Westeros", and if someone strays into the political arena, I will turn to my wife and say something on the order of "do you think that Aria is going to leave her entire previous life behind to become a faceless man?" Or "is Jamie finally going to turn his back on Circie?" MrsPP will then answer me and we'll start a discussion about that which usually shuts down the political discussion as well

  6. We did it for first time last weekend on navigator , great deal, it is also free if you are in a grand suite or above. We bought some booze so had to do one bag the old way, would do it again .

Question. The website says that luggage valet is only available at Port Canaveral and port Everglades. Navigator sails of Miami. Have they expanded the service and neglected to update the website?

  7. I've been to Gulfstream several times, as Corby114 says, the casino is kind of Meh, and while the ponies will be running on 6/17 (guessing the date from your sig) remember that live racing takes place in the afternoon, from around 1:00 to 6:00 or so. If you want to bet on the west coast tracks, they have a good simulcasting facility.

  8. When I bookedt the escape room on Anthem, I just went up to SeaPlex and found one of the SeaPlex attendants, and booked it there . The catch was I was trying to book an entire run for a group I had put together from my roll call. But my point is that you can book the escape room without anyone being near escape room they just have to have access to the computer at Seaplex

  9. Can't really say, pretty much the only time I was in the SeaPlex area was when I was playing the puzzle break game or getting hot dogs at the hot dog stand. I did note that when you are going to a show they would check your SeaPass and if you didn't have a reservation you were shunted over the " wait here until the people with reservations have taken their seats (or 15 minutes before the show)" area

  10. Thank you for writing this review! We are doing this package 4/17 and our biggest concern was having a hassle with the shuttle. Feel much better now[/qoute]

Double check with the Ramada front desk and confirm your shuttle times. Our problem with our shuttle to the port was that they thought we wanted to go at 10:00 and we wanted to go at 11:00, so when the hotel shuttle left at 10:00 they thought we were on it. Then the shuttle was stuck in the drop off line at the port, and couldn't get back for us, so we ended up in a Town Car ( which I assume also belonged to the hotel)

  11. Additionally on Anthem on most nights there was a photographer set up on the formal steps by Michael's Pub, and another one more or less freelancing on the Esplanade, we had a nice set of pictures taken in front of Boleros. There is usually a photographer set up near a funky chair at the entrance of Wonderland that might make a good setting for a family portrait. These are in addition to the usual set of backdrops, Main staircase of the Titanic, Moonlight on Deck, Fireworks in New York Harbor, and the like. I'm sure you'll find something that you like
