  1. A little confused at how his works. We each get 2 speciality dining. Is each speciality dining for a couple or one person?

Also, looking at some of the specialty dining on Prima class, some of the restaurants have prices per food item. Do you have a set amount you can spend at each venue?

Just booked Viva for 2023 and not sure how all of this works.
    thanks

    Happy New Year 🎉

  2. I just booked a 18 day cruise from Australia to Honolulu for April 2024. At least it is a newer ship - but oh those sea days!

What do you do on all of those sea days - especially since I am sailing solo!

so load a lot of movies on my iPad and lots of books. But does the ship offer a lot when you have so many sea days together?  I know on shorter cruises they have bingo, trivia during the day but that bores me.
Oh well, I’m excited and I’m sure I will enjoy it!

  3. I’m flying into Ft Lauderdale on Jan 27 and my cruise leaves the 29th.
I think the requirement for testing is 2 days before the cruise. So, I think that means the earliest time I can test is the 27th or does it mean I can get tested on the 26th?

Has anyone gotten tested in Ft Lauderdale and where did you go?

I won’t have a car - I’ll be staying at embassy suites, so hopefully anywhere close by.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks

  4. I know none of us have the answer to this question - just want to see what others think.
How will cruise lines returning to the States handle the administration of COVID tests?
Again I know that none of us have the answer - just curious.

I’ll be on the Epic in January 2022.
    THANKS

  5. Will be on the Spirit in September and was wondering which night is the BBQ - I’m thinking 1st night in Bora Bora.
which island is the beach bbq?

starting to plan excursions but I don’t want to miss either.
does anyone have any excursions they recommend- either through ship or private.
    thanks.

  6. Thanks all for the comments on the Caribe. I checked in on November 20 at 8:30 am and was given a room right away. It wasn’t exactly the room I wanted but getting a room at 8:30 in the morning was wonderful. I was at the pool by 9:00.
Beautiful resort and the staff were great!

  7. I’m not a big fan of St Lucia. We were on a ship excursion years ago and people were coming up to the catamaran in kayaks and trying to climb on to sell stuff. I know it is a poor nation, but that is going a bit far.

    I just didn’t feel safe

  8. I agree with the other comments. POA is the way to go to see all of the islands without a lot of sea days - though I love sea days, I wanted to spend my time on the islands. For the amount of time to sail from California, I spend 6 extra days in Honolulu. Got to go to Pearl Harbor, North Shore, swam with the sharks, spent time on the beach and got to have dinner with my cousin and his boys.

The ship is old, do not expect all of the bells and whistles. Was not fond of a lot of the crew, food was, as others have said, cruise food.

By spending 2 days in each island, I know I want to go back to Maui and Kauai. But, I would do the cruise again.

  9. I have no problem with people dressing appropriately, but on a ship like this there is no buffet to go to.  The only other thing to do is get room service and eat in your room. I’m the kind of person that if I’ve had a long hot day the last thing no I want to do is get dressed up BUT I can still handle a pair of pants and nice shirt. Honestly, it really doesn’t bother me what people wear.
