  1. Here is my blog review of ZEALANDIA in Wellington - "well worth" the visit! https://baskeytravels.com/wellington/ Cheers, Heather
  2. We birded a lot on our Auckland to Sydney cruise - key highlights were: 1. Muriwai Gannet Colony - DIY if you can, don't need a guide. 2. Bird the Hauraki Gulf Islands - ferry tickets from Auckland, take the $10 pp guided tour, they are amazing naturalists / birders. Tiritiri Matangi is predator-free and *amazing* 3. IF you stop in Wellington, massive open sanctuary - we booked on our own (DIY / Free Shuttle by Sanctuary) and did the guided tour. The guides are "amazing" and will point out all the local birds and then after your tour, you can stay all day and go back to visit the key areas they pointed out. Cheers, Heather
  3. Koningsdam [Pinnacle Class] Aft-facing Verandas (VS and AS) - Cliff’s Notes Summary After using the search feature on the HAL Board and visited halfacts.com for information on the aft-facing verandas (VS and AS, alike), I did a mini-compilation of my findings. Instead of losing the search effort, thought I’d share here, in case anyone else is doing the same kind of search! Decks 4 and 7 are Vista Suites, Decks 5, 6, and 8 are aft-facing verandas. Most Aft-facing verandas are covered up to about 18 inches from the railing; with the exception of Deck 8 which is mostly covered with the overhang from the pool deck. Several people commented that Deck 8 have very large balconies (depth); but noted pool deck above. Cabin Numbers below, specific for the Koningsdam Square footage listed in tables are from this reference, where the CC member contacted HAL directly for the measurements, CC Post #7191 Cruise Critic Photos / Review # 8188 Cruise Critic Review from Nov 2020 Feel free to comment, if you have any other info you may find useful to others regarding the aft-facing verandas on the Koningsdam [Pinnacle Class]
  4. I originally placed the Tracker in the thread initiated by CruisingChick on April 23, 2018. However, the tracker gets lost amongst all the many questions/comments (understandably). Thus, I have decided to create a single thread for tracking purposes only (filtering out everything else). The purpose of this thread is strictly for compiling information into a spreadsheet. I will be running this tracker for ~ 6 months to see if any interesting trends come about and/or for general information purposes. Will reevaluate its usefulness thereafter. IF you wish to participate, answer the following questions as best as you can and I will transfer the info to the Tracker. Please do not ask questions here (redirect your questions/comments to the CruisingChick thread of April 2018). CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER (effective April 19, 2019; but can back-fill data, if available) Ship: Length of Cruise: Cruise Sail Date: Date email offer received: Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: Current Cabin: Bid?
