Depending on what line you sail on, special needs can arrange a medical fridge which is colder than the minibar. We had one in Freedom of the Seas in January so I could pump milk to send to the nursery with DD who was 6 months at the time and has a milk allergy.

We just brought our daughter on Freedom. They provided a pack and play with a fitted sheet. They even replaced that for us after she spit up on it, and we did not need to use the sheet we brought.

I didn’t ask - but on a few occasions we called up and were able to drop her off 10 minutes later.

The RCI nursery puts a label with their name, muster station, and any allergies on the child’s back.

We just got off Freedom with our 6 month old. There were between 40-50 children under 3. The nursery was open 9-midnight every day. Each family got 16 hours to start and only 2 hours each formal night after 6pm. By day 3 they were allowing all the booking you wanted as long as there was availability. Hope this helps!

Not so worried about noro now - our flight was cancelled a few hours ago and we haven’t managed to actually speak to anyone about a new one. The internet is telling us Sunday.

We are boarding Freedom on Saturday 1/6. Today we received a notice that embarkation won’t start until 1:30 because the ship is being deep cleaned. Does this mean the current sailing has ill passengers or could this be routine?

When you say mandarin oranges, are they fresh or packaged? You can’t bring fresh ones because of customs concerns about fresh produce (and definitely not into ports). I’m uncertain if packaged ones face the same restrictions.

I had read here on the forums that the main dining rooms on Royal Caribbean can bring a simple puréed fruit or veggie for little ones. We plan to bring plenty of baby food, but if puréed fresh food is available we would prefer that DD eat that.
Can anyone with some experience here mention some foods you have ordered puréed for little ones?
Thanks so much!

We are cruising with our 6 month old on Freedom of the Seas in January. I know the dress code specifies shoes are to be worn in the dining room, but she has never worn shoes and doesn’t own any! Has this been a problem for anyone? Do I need to get her a pair of infant shoes for our trip?

If we cruise in January it is always based on dates - I’m a professor and can only go when school is not in session. To compensate, we search Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and aren’t restrictive about our departure port. We can usually find a ship and itinerary that suits us. This year, we chose Freedom of the Seas because DD is joining us and it has a nursery, but we considered several itineraries from Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, and Miami, with the main requirement being that the ship didn’t stop in Nassau.

Several museums (the Met) are stroller friendly and do some programming for children. There is also a children’s museum on Central Park West in the 70s, but since DD is only 5 months old, we haven’t made it there yet.
Also, if you are going to brave Times Square in the evening with a stroller, try to do it at a time when shows aren’t near starting or letting out, as the sidewalks get very jammed.

We called, and they would have let us book the panoramic ocean view, but they also offered us a 4B balcony, which we took instead. Our third passenger will have just turned 1 at sailing time though.

We are looking at the June 29, 2018 sailing of Adventure to Canada and New England and are interested in the Panoramic oceanviews for the extra space compared to the regular oceanview and balcony cabins. All but 4 show up on the deck plan with the symbol that a sofa bed is available, but when I search on the website, Royal is only permitting the remaining ones (with sofa beds) to be booked by parties of 2. Unfortunately, we are a party of 3 (me, DH, and DD who will be 1 at sailing time.)
I know these cabins aren't being installed until January, but is this an IT mix up, or might there be another explanation?

Just one note on Adventure - it is one of 6 RCI ships that does not have a drop off nursery for the under-3 set! That said, we are considering taking DD on Adventure just after she turns 1 and utilizing the more expensive in-cabin babysitting option,

Wait until you are onboard and go to guest services. In January on the Sea, DH did that and was able to purchase the package for himself, and not me, since I was pregnant at the time.

DD will be almost 7 months when we cruise Freedom in January. How have your little ones enjoyed the splash pad? Also, can you recommend baby friendly excursions for San Juan and St. Maarten?

Either that, or the new tender design will make for itineraries where passengers are tendered to the smaller ports, rather than docking there.

If the colors on the deck plans hold true to what is familiar from M-class and S-class, then all of the Aqua class cabins are aft of midship on decks 9 and 10 and do not adjoin the spa they way they do on S-class. Concierge cabins are forward on deck 10 and then on Decks 11 and 12.

Deck Plans! http://www.celebritycruises.com/ships/celebrity-edge?tab=Staterooms%2Fships%2Fcelebrity-edge%2Fstaterooms#Deck_Plans/ships/celebrity-edge/deck-plans you must click on the deck plans tab!
Staterooms are here, most public venues are not. Lots of things about the layout remind me of S-class. The retreat being all the way forward on the top deck I think is something that won't impact the rest of us too much, and Luminae is forward 2 decks below that.
Use mini-bar as a refrigerator
in Celebrity Cruises

We just had it emptied on Equinox last week. They did insist on storing the minibar contents under our bed. It is slightly warmer than a true refrigerator, but our pea milk was just fine.
