  1. Our three cruises out of four booked for this year are cancelled. There are little to no chances that the remaining cruise will survive this situation. At the moment we don't know how the whole industry will survive this crisis. We don't know how many cruise lines will go out of business, how many ships under construction will remain on the shipyards for years. We don't know how many ships (including the nice ones that we love) will be laid up, sold, or scrapped. Hopefully we'll be able to cruise again sometime in 2021. I will look at the itineraries first. Happy cruising!
  2. If you want to have access to an "exclusive" sun deck area on the Vista class ships, you can book one of the Havana cabins. As to the original question, Havana isn't anything remotely close to the Yacht Club or Haven experience. Happy cruising!
  3. 2021 Thanksgiving Cruise is likely to be the nearest Thankgiving Cruise on the Mardi Gras. Happy cruising!
  4. No, and hopefully will never be. Happy cruising!
  5. I still have a cruise booked for this year (three other cancelled). If you are lucky to recover something from what you have paid, don't plan anything sooner than 2021. Just my opinion. Happy cruising!
  6. These days everything is possible. No surprise if the Mardi Gras won't be ready until 2021. Happy cruising!
  7. I have just read: Dear AIDA guests, The spread of the corona virus is currently a very difficult challenge for countless people and the economy worldwide. Due to the increasing cases of Covid-19, there are massive restrictions in the countries we target. The situation changes very dynamically. As a tour operator and employer, we have a great responsibility towards our guests and crew members. That is why today we decided with a heavy heart to temporarily interrupt the AIDA travel season until early April 2020. https://www.aida.de/kreuzfahrt/angebote-buchen/wichtiger-reisehinweis.40233.html?cbref=https%3A%2F%2Fnavimba.com%2Fviewtopic.php%3Fp%3D833733%26sid%3D5fba061e6e5ba627f1ec05bce9780d37
  8. Something unbelievable is happening. I feel so sorry for the people on board the Grand Princess. (Usually I say "Happy cruising!")
  9. At 01:20 : It's discouraging to see women participating in this.
  10. Sure! Try this enhanced version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lrDFfJ6cqU
  11. This is a great example of how loyalty tricks work. A new cruiser starts looking for a cruise on the same cruise line expecting loyalty "benefits" that would make the cruise "less expensive". The worst thing about this is that he is probably missing a different option that is just round the corner: a better ship, a better itinerary, and a better price - even with the "loyalty" deduction. 😢 Happy cruising!
  12. "Status" is a marketing gimmick that cruise lines use to take more money out of your pocket. You real status is the status of the ship you cruise on. If you cruise on a 3* ship, your status is 3*, etc. Nothing limits your cruising experience as badly as one cruise line loyalty. Try different ships, different cruise lines. Have cruise life! Happy cruising!
  13. Hi, I studied this ship long before the initial sailing. I found nothing significant that I haven't seen before on other ships that I know (many and many). The reports (video and comments) from the actual ship just confirmed word for word what I have posted on the boards. I rate it 3*+ overall. Is it dismissive? Not at all. I have cruised on the ships of this level, even lower. Cruising is a pleasure by definition. The ship is lacking comfort and amenities, so are many other ships out there. A cruise is ship+itinerary+price. If the itinerary and price are right, I see no problem taking a cruise on the Scarlet Lady (Carnival Conquest, MSC Musica, NCL Dawn, etc., etc. ) Happy cruising!
