  1. Hi.

I understand that several months ago the terminal was damaged during a storm and things were really tuff trying to get on the ship.

Anybody got a heads up if things have gotten fixed?

I had both knees replaced in February and need to know what to expect.

    Any info is greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  2. FYI. We did move up around 60 days from Eclipse April 20 sailing. CC to AC.

First time we have gotten our bid accepted.  However there were over 50 AC cabins available as of today when bid was accepted.

Dont give up.  Check the available cabins.

Just a heads up it was $50 per day x 7 days to move up.

Thanks for the info.  Today we decided to upgrade and when the TA was repricing for the upgrade the Zenith price came up.  Pleasant surprise as it saved us $1600.

    That’s huge Jelayne ,

i was so excited because it was someone on another thread that alerted me to the change. Just wanted to share the info on the deal we got. Hopefully its consistent across the board with all others.

Every time i think i got it all figured out, someone has another good idea.  Yes upgrading would allow them to apply the new change. Smart idea.

Luck you.  My TA contacted the Zenith desk and was told no repricing for booking paid in full.

    Elayne,

try calling the Zenith desk.   I just got off the phone with my travel agent and Edwin. We got the money credited to our credit card.  When i first called, Edwin said that he couldn’t talk to me about numbers but would call and discuss the options with our agent. I wouldn’t give up on this one.

All good stuff but a minor correction.  The cruise only fare for Zenith booking suites  is not being allowed on cruises that are paid in full. So those of us with paid cruises for April, May and most of June do not get our price adjusted.

    Jelayne

call the Zenith desk and ask for Edwin.

We are on the Eclipse April 27th 2024 cruise. We are paid in full and yes they did give us $1300 credit back.  Gotta ask the right person. I posted this on another thread.  I was quite surprised that they did.

  6. Things can be a little on the negative side for Celebrity. However i think they are starting to make some changes for the good. I think some of our complaints have started to hit home.

    We got Decoy wine back

    Dedicated Butlers for the suites

Zenith now can do a cruise only fare for suites in fact they are offering it on cruises already booked and paid for

We now can book a cruise to Cococay   If you haven’t tried, you will love it   We took grand kids. And got are own Cabana WOW. Expensive but it was great

Officer are all over the ship talking to everybody

i know prices seemed to have almost doubled but what hasn’t

oh well, if you know others   Please report the good suff

  7. Hi. Just heard back from my travel agent. He had to contact the Zenith desk to get things moving to get it approved. The Royal Suite on eclipse on April 27th 2024 was credited $1300. It looks like $650 each for the cruise only discount.  Keep in mind since price dropped our on board credit from travel agent was reduced by $150.

Celebrity is really is doing the right thing   Loyalty is important to us.  They are my choice and will remain so.

Also. Credit goes to you folks on Cruise Critic. Sharing this info is huge.

I hope this works out for others

    yippie celebrity.

  8. We just finished a 7 day trip on Apex. No butler but really didnt miss much. We just called the head butler and asked for what we wanted and got it but with different people each time. We tipped a little each time but still different people, Very impersonal. Oh well , will see if it changes back fleet wide.  We’re on eclipse in April. Will see if things change.

I would save any extra tip for your room attendant. We got great service from him.

  9. Well back from Apex   Spent 7 days.  First time on Edge class.

Been on 30 Celebrity cruises.  2 really outstanding features were the shows / theater were great.  Retreat lounge and private sunning are was the best. Not enough time in 7 days to really see it all and experience it all.  I am certain that a 14 day cruise would have been much better for the first time. We were lost the first 3 days

    good first impression

  10. Well. This is our 4th night of 7 on Apex and in a Sky suite ( first on an Edge Ship)    Butler arrangement is very different. You have to learn how to use the new system or you will be really mad.

The Head Butler is Joey. He comes and meets you the first day. Promises the world but you got to make plans on things you want. Call him everyday and give h,I’m your list. My  Mrs. Likes a late breakfast in the room but if you have an early excursion you will need to pick a time that works.  Nobody stands at the door asking you what you want so  make the calls and ask.  So far we have gotten what we want. Not the same but…..if were going to pay then were gonna ask for what we want.. nicely and maybe often.

    Competition will make things right.

Edge Class is super and the re

We've sailed on both the Apex and Reflection. (Leaving for the Apex in 2 weeks to go again). If you like traditional cruising, the reflection is the better option. It has the classic ballroom MDR, and general feel of a classic cruise ship. If you are a food person and want to try many different places, the price difference may benefit you to go with the reflection and use the extra funds on specialty dining.

The Apex is a nice ship if you want a more modern cruise, the technology is fun if you are a tech head, and don't mind using your phone for things. You are correct you'll have 4 different MDRs but in reality, these are just the ballroom MDR of the reflection split into 4 different rooms. Yes, they have a theme, and you have some specials in each to match the overall theme of the spot, but the bulk of the menu is shared across all MDR's, the big difference is the fact they are split up giving it a much more modern restaurant feeling vs the bulk ballroom style of the Reflection.

Both ships will have great activities, it's a celebrity ship so the average age will be a bit older, but you'll find younger people on the newer edge ships. We are in our mid to late 30's and enjoy the newer ships more for the smaller dining venues. If we go on the reflection or older ships we'll pay for the AQ upgrade for blu to get the smaller venue.

IMHO if you are looking for a food-driven cruise, and you aren't worried about the ports or they are the same between both options. I would do the reflection and save the $800 to go mad at the specialty dinning restaurants, that's where you'll have the best selection of different foods to try.

You know it may be an old post but it is still good enough.  What you said is si true.  We’re Eclipse for 21 days and are rfesally looking forward to common ground.

Apex is reallly nice.  We got our free cruise and upgraded to a Carpet suite. Mrs.has been a little nest back with service. My thoughts is you gotta learn the system.   Gonna try stuff

  12. Sorry i was only comparing 2 ships.

We have not been on Silhouhette since she was refurbished.

I would still spend $700 less and do Reflection vs Apex for the first Celebrity experience.

  13. Hi

We are on Apex right now.  I plan to do a review once we’re home.  30 X cruises and first time on the Edge Class.  She is a wonderful ship.  Clean, new and the shows are to die for. However were lost. Took us 2 days to figure things out.

Reflection is our favorite S.  She’s  not old but in her prime.   I say save the money and go her.  Use the $700 and try the special restaurants.

  14. Sounds like aa plan.  Eden looks pretty cool. Shows sound great also.

We’re gonna have to walk the whole ship on the first day in order to figure where everything is located. We been on all the other ships and are quite familiar with where everything is. This will be a challenge.

    😁

    Thanks all

Boarded for Edge Villa on Sunday at T25 in Port Everglades (Ascent). Met by the Retreat Manager and assigned an escort. Very pleasant. Escorted to the EV which was ready. Never even sat down in the Retreat Embarkation Lounge. Wine selections already in place. Chiller already full of the items I'd requested from the Shoreside Retreat Concierge. 2nd time in an EV after 2 times in a PH on the Constellation. T25 rocks for upper level suites!

Jealous.    So sweet in that suite.  It’s been -5 here for 2 days in

Regardless, terminal 25 for a suite guest is nice. We recently sailed in a Celebrity suite and did not get escorted.
