  1. I cant say that i have seen any passengers going to the extent you described.  However, you right it might appear that way, when you here on these sites folks ideas to save money (beat the system).

Depending on the length of cruise, 2 large bottles of wine brought on (legal) can go a long way. Also you can buy a liter of spirits on the ship so using a Yeti poolside makes since.

How we spend or dont spend money is crazy. We as a couple still split meals at restaurants.

I feel that most of the complaints are due to understaffing and I believe that is a money saving venture on corporate.  I am not sure how you fix this other than contacting shoreside.

    Yep

the only way they are going to hire more Staff is to pay more $$$$$.

RCCL stock and profits are now up. Time to start spending the money on people and not on buying super Mega ships.

  3. Frankly, i had to think about this one for awhile.  Gonna rant

    Negatives

    Cost

    Service

    choices

All cannot be blamed strictly on Celebrity taking advantage of their loyal customers.

We had a real windfall in 2 directions.

First interest rates, inflation and unemployment were low thus, they were able to offer deals.

Before and during Covid. Prices were really low in comparison to today. All kinds of changes started to be implemented in order to survive.

However once Covid was over people started to travel like wild fire doing at 100 MPH with their hair on fire. Some had FCC from many cruises and could now afford to move up to Suites and thus competition for a limited number of cabins. This happened at the very time when cost began to climb and anybody could get their choice of a job in the service industry. This is world wide.

Things will change…. Why???  We personally just cant justify spending 3 times as much for less of a product. Thus we have slowed our future bookings down. It sounds like many have started doing the same.

So, until inflation/interest rates and unemployment start to return to pre Covid levels, Celebrity as well all the cruise lines/airlines restaurants will struggle to offer better service and cost.

We have taken 3 cruises since post Covid and all has not been doom and gloom. Crew has been nice and when we tip well (throughout the cruise) the experience gets better because the servers who are the real deal smile more and feel appreciated.  This can be experienced in any class of cabin.

Celebrity services may never return to the once level that we all came to love but the product is still as good if not better A deal than we see on land.

Time will tell but competition has a strange way of settling these kinds of issues.

Yes we may try some other cruise venues but Celebrity is still our choice.

I know it was a long rant. 😊🤪

  4. We will be on the Apex in 15 days.  I plan to report back.

We’re really comfortable with The S class ships so this will be a learning curve for us. 30 Celebrity cruises and never on an Edge Class yet.

  5. I am a pretty stout drinker but 2 large Martinis before dinner is about all i can handle and be a companion with the Mrs.  That being said. I like the larger glasses.

So question. With all drink packages. Are gratuities already included or has something changed?

Meaning once it’s paid. Will you see added gratuities or not?  On Apex in 2 weeks with a premium package.

    Thanks.

We will not be shifting to a single line like we did with Celebrity for 23 years.  Our first non-Celebrity was on Ponant - explorer type cruises with 125 is passengers... Totally no comparison possible.

While we have not taken yet We have booked 2 TA's on Cunard (in lieu of flying to UK) and over the weekend Booked an Oceania Cruise for 2025.   Stay tuned for a Live Side by Side by Side   Cunard - Oceania - Celebrity  in November 2025 (long time off so don't hold your breath).

Please keep us posted Boss 😊

  7. It’s funny we have been doing Suites for the majority of our cruises with Celebrity and have never had a bad experience.

However the first leg of our 21 day cruise (On Eclipse) from Buenos to Liberty NJ is 7 days in a Concierge cabin on the pool deck. We then will move up to a Suite for the 14 day.

I guess where I am going with this comment is. Gonna just relax and have fun by the pool for those 7 days.

    Its a change.

  8. Sheeng

Glad to hear your on board with your luggage.  Michaels can be iffy on some cruises.  We have seen it well supported by crew and passengers and then very quiet at times.

Question. Were you having to move your luggage the whole time you waited before you could drop the large bags on the belt. No porters available to help.

    Thanks

  9. Hey all. Didn’t mean for my stupid knees to hijack this stream.

    Thanks for all your thoughts.

There is about 5 cruises that will be using that port at Buenos before Eclipse heads to Liberty Jersey.

Those flying in early may not want to go to the port until later in the afternoon   Most departures are not till after 6:00 pm.

Hopefully not everybody will have to go through what Sheena did.

You will be fine in 8 weeks 😁

Hoping so.  Having the left knee cleaned out and replacing the right knee. Had to cancel the 13 day from Chile, just 2 close.

I would think in 90 days things will get better at the terminal. Always great though to get the updates on CC.
