There is a cruise ship excursion that DH and I would love to take but 17 & 18 year old don't want to come with us.  Can they stay on board?

At that age I was living on my own. In fact had for over a year. And supervised a boyfriend when we went travelling by train all over Europe.

I believe they can manage on their own for a couple of hours. 😀

That's great news the lack of air con didn't affect us but in the middle of summer it would be a bonus.

Naah - most of the country survives just fine without. Summer in Denmark usually isn't SUMMER!!

Also: RCI usually gets the nearest berth to the bus at Oceankaj. It saves you a long walk if you use public transportation.

Copenhagen card is expensive, but gives access to Tivoli, public transportation and a lot of other attractions

City Pass is less expensive and gives you access to all public transportation. Paying for tickets is a mess - a kind of travel card is much easier. It can be ordered on-line here: https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/english/tickets/

Are those prices accurate? I will not have the package on my next cruise so those lower priced drinks would be a good option. I thought they were all $12-14 plus grat.

The prices seem too low. The article is from 2015.

Usually the cocktail of the day is around $8-9

I believe every country has the right to make whatever laws they want, and every non citizen has the right to decide if they want to visit that country or not.  It’s all good as long as we have choices.

Which is why I have chosen not to set foot on US soil before present conditions change. I simply wouldn't feel safe.

"Why in the world would we want to cruise Norway?"

And I say: "Why in the world would I want to fly 6 time zones to go on a cruise where it's all about booze and beaches?"

Or for that matter: "Why in the world would I want to go skiing in Norway on tiny mountains when I can go in the Alps that rise to 3500 m and also have some life in the town after 6pm?"

    I guess YMMV

Hi All......has anyone done the Norway itinerary? What does the Daily Compass look like? Are there still as many activities as in Med and Caribbean cruises? Such as trivia, game shows etc.  We enjoy all of these and look forward to them as much as the ports.

Also if anyone has any tips on this ship share those too 🙂

    Thanks!

I took this cruise last May. The scenery is F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!!! I simply LURVE the waterfall in Geiranger.

The crew is SO friendly and helpful. It seems in a not I-want-gratuities way.

I saw one or two shows - nothing special, but nice.

I didn't participate in any activities - I knitted and spun yarn and wound down.

I'm taking the cruise again next August (2020). This time on Jewel.

I live in the center of Copenhagen, so it's that or the Baltic Sea if I don't want to travel to somewhere else first.

This was my only complaint on an otherwise perfect cruise. Serenade of the Seas last month and it was like sleeping on the ground.

I have also sailed with Serenade and not felt the beds were too hard. The cabin attendant did put 3-4 thin mattress covers under the sheet, though.

    YMMV

I have bought two inflatable 'mattresses' - I bring them each cruise. I haven't needed them yet. I guess I'd better keep on bringing them so as not to jinx my luck. That way the mattresses will never be too hard 🙂
