  1. LOL [emoji23] This made my day!! I am actually working on my Horizon Review now. Hopefully I will kick it off tonight or tomorrow. [emoji7]

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Hey, amazing review. I know you probably didn't go in and get your dance on, but did you ever happen to walk by the Nightclub on Dream? Was it empty as my soul or was it actually hopping like my horrible dance moves?

  2. Loving the review. I agree with you on the CD part. I have been on 7 Carnival Cruises and 3 with Royal; Liberty, Majesty and Brilliance. There is a lot I love about Royal but the CD is something of a beef of mine. All 3 with Royal have been rather bland, I see them only at shows and briefly at the parties, that's it. None of the 3 CD were even at the Sailaway party, come on! They really don't interact with everyone Like Carnival's CD do. You see Carnivals Everywhere, hugging people, shaking hands, photos and just being so sociable. One thing, by the end of the 7 days, you feel like that CD is your best friend.

Its just crazy how little interaction with Royals cd. To put it into more perspective; I met 2 other couples on the ship who didn't even know who the CD was, "Oh that's the person, who spoke at the beginning of the show." This would not happen on Carnival.

Again, im not hating on Royal, they are wonderful and im hooked, but they need improvement in this department.

  3. Hi everyone, wanted to get some opinions of people who have been on the Summit. I am a mid 30s male that is thinking of doing a April cruise, reposition 8 days. I am not looking for a party cruise but just want the ship to be active past 11 pm with some good deck parties or such. Based on your experiences, how was the nightlife on your cruise? Was there anyone in the nightclub? Bars? Just any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  4. So I found a good deal on a cruise in April that I can afford. Its a 9 day cruise out of Baltimore to Charleston, PC, Miami, Royals Private island and Nassau. I grew up in Florida, so I could care less about Orlando, where im from. I am a 37 year old single guy, thinking of going on this cruise. I think the Itinerary would be okay, especially the beautiful private island and beach day at Nassau. Ive never been to Charleston. Am I crazy for doing this plan? Is there anyone else who would? Just want some honest thoughts please? Will I get bored on a small ship for 9 days? Would be great if someone has done this also, thank you again

  5. What do you have against NCL? Just curious, ive been solo on Carnival, NCl and RCCl and NCl was by far and wide the greatest one out of them all. The fact there is a solo lounge where you meet up and there are usually 2 floors of solo travelers, it was great fun. On the Escape there will be a LARGE crowd of that age group, which I am in.

If you are very against NCl, then I would do Carnival. There is a large group of our age groups. There is always a nightclub full of people and just over all fun. Plus the deck parties and food is great. Guys burgers are addicting. Carnival prices are usually low too.

  6. I am a night owl and love a good late night crowd. But as Carol said - it depends on the crowd for your sailing. I've spent many a night in the dedicated night club spaces that are being re-purposed where hardly anyone was there. And I've spent many a night in a Viking Crown lounge (or some other multi use space) that's packed with people dancing the night away to the wee hours. Personally, I don't think the "space" has much to do with it. They have some wonderful deck parties where they turn the Solarium into a great outdoor club, too. I remember Allure being hit or miss the week I was on her.

Any recommendations on another good night life ship for next year?

  7. I have only sailed on Anthem, no other Royal ship. They have a venue called the Music Hall. It's two stories and I would consider it a night club. It's very dark and kind of goth, skulls used in the decor, dark red and black everywhere, big dance floor and it was very busy every night. They had live bands some nights. Very clubby atmosphere.

Thank you. I'm gonna board the Allure in a week but I'm planning my next cruise in 2018. I just want a place to have fun till late at in morning .

One of my least cruises was on Carnival paradise, where the entire boat shut down at 130. Want to drink with your loved one, nope. I really do not want that. If you tell me a ship that stays open late I'm there.

I'm really new to royal. I have 8 carnival cruises but it's just not making me happy. It's really gone downhill.

  8. Just a fun and curious question for all royal fans. What is your least favorite itinerary? Or one you try to avoid at all cost? For me its anything that has a stop in Florida, being I moved up north from Florida. I try to avoid these. I just don't see Port Canaveral, as enjoyable. What about you all?

Btw, does anyone like this stop?

  9. This is one area where Carnival blows RCCL away-and I've been on about 12 cruises on both lines. I never liked the Crypt concept either because it was segmented, multi-level.

So I'm glad you understand. Something about a packed cruise club at 12 am. Carnival ships do pick there clubs. But, I'm going on allure in 2 weeks and I hear it's amazing

  10. Just so everyone has an update. I work 11 hour days 5 days a work, and im always on the phone. So, when I get off work, the last thing I want to do, is call someone, lol. But anyways, after reading everyones advice I felt it was time to call royal. Well, it all worked out, I dropped her and they refunded my taxes, port fees and grats that I paid. So that's good.

Whats entertaining to me is how it was pushing for an upgrade. It pretty much went down like this. Mr Gregg, I have some really good news for you. I have a fantastic upgrade for you. Me, getting really excited for a moment, oh? Yes, I can put you from a large interior to a balcony for $800. I think I almost feinted. I promptly said no thanks!

For some, that would be worth it and although ive never had a balcony and always wanted one. Being young, 36 and traveling solo, how much time would I really spend in the balcony? Not worth it to me. I can use that money for some amazing excursions. Whats funny is for about a second, I almost did it, but my friend promptly talked me out of it

  11. Definitely the comedians in the comedy club. You need to reserve it ahead of time, it's a small venue.

Question about the Comedians though. On carnival, there are 2 comedians, and on a 7 night cruise, they perform for 3 days and each show is a totally new show. Then, midway through, they change the comedians and 2 more come on board for all new shows.

Is this the same for royal? IF not, do the comedians perform the same show all week long or is each one different?
