And speaking of rude, dpostman might want to reconsider his/her rant. I had a Hummer that got better mileage than my crossover. I park in handicapped spaces because I have a disability. And If I leave the engine running it's for a good reason. Rude behavior also includes berating people you don't know based on you own stereotyped biases.

I should have included that Hummer drivers are also Hypersensitive.

Now just to explain myself. Sorry, I could't help myself. I should have been more clear about hummer drivers without a disability permit parking in handicap spaces. In all fairness, I drive a Jeep, and as a Jeep driver, it will always be OPEN SEASON on hummer drivers. So it was not meant as a rant but more as a Poke in the ribs. With all the CC members/readers, I knew that there had to be at least a few hummer drivers out there.:D

I am part of a few other forums where rib poking is the norm, so posts like that are expected. I'll try to mind my manners better on this forum ;)

I received a response back saying that the menus without pricing were a printers error and it is being corrected.

 

Will have to book another cruise to verify.

More likely a decision made by some AE (Accounting Engineer). Car Companies are loaded with them. And After a few sailings, they noticed that in had a negative impact on revenue instead of boosting it, so they might be reversing the decision.

I seem to recall that some wines are available in 2 different glass sizes. I think a 5oz and a 2oz. If the 5 oz is over $12 but the 2oz in under $12, does anyone know if the 2oz would be covered?

EDIT: Oh... and to answer the poll: I've per-purchased the UP but have yet to prove the worthiness. (we sail in April) But barring any last minute health issues, we intend to make it worthwhile.

Well, for me, Since I've prepaid for the Ultimate Beverage Package, I'll need most of the first day to make it worth while. RCI did not offer a half day discount on one day's worth of the UP so you can bet I'll be showing up early. Plus the Hotel will probably kick us out by 11am anyway.

On our Disney Cruise in Jan 2013, we drove from Orlando on a Sunday morning and got to the Port Canaveral Terminal way earlier than expected, and showed up at around 10am. Our embarkation time was set for 11:30am. The first few minutes inside the terminal, someone approached us and asked us if we would like to check in, we said we were only due to check in a 11:30am and the lady showed us a big smile and said that we were more than welcome to check in now. And about 15 minutes later we were on the other side of the terminal waiting for our boarding number to be called. About 10 minutes after that, we were on the gangway.

Thanks for the TripIt Heads up. I just finished creating an account and set it up that I just forward the appropriate emails to tripIt and voilà. It's very handy. gonna try it out for a while but it saves me a lot of work that I usually do myself manually.

I'm so sorry this wonderful review soured at the end. I can't understand what the negative/snarky posters hoped to gain. It's one thing to debate an issue but another to be personally insulting. Having never met you, forgive the familiarity. This is Michael's review, his opinion, his personal experiences. I can't even imagine the hard work that goes into posting such a review with the most beautiful pictures. Michael, I, for one, think you're an exceptional young man (gee that makes me sound old lol) and you have every right to be proud of your accomplishments.

That amazon lightning deal is pretty good. Here in canada the 2.1 amp ones are 29.99. I did order one anyway. The 1 amp ones are only $11.98

It is a bit bigger than I thought it would be but seems very well made. I tested it on my tablet and it charged up as quick as my usual heavy duty charger.

We are pretty much in the same boat as you (Figuratively speaking). We've been on our first cruise on the Disney Dream with our 2 kids. We had the most amazing time. Amazing food. Amazing Crew. So four our upcoming cruise in April, we are going without the kids, and celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Our TA suggested the Liberty on RCCL. It also fit within our time constraints.

I started doing what I do best, and started going though reviews and like you, I also got worried a bit. the more I read, it seems the worse it got. Then after a while, I was able to filter through many of the negative complaints and started seeing all these great people on these forums with many thousands of posts and dozens of cruises behind them. And since I figure, most of them are not into self inflicting pain upon themselves and seem very happy to be going back again and again, RCCL must be doing something right.

Even though I feel that the bar has been set very high with our first cruise being on Disney, I am looking forward to our Easter cruise with an open mind. Also our expectations are quite different than when we cruised with the Kids. Thus explaining the validity of getting the Ultimate Beverage Package :D

That is an interesting idea. would be particularly doable with Beer. If someone could get 3 or 4 guys together and each take a different beer and a glass, and then split each beer 4 ways, one after the other... Lather, Rinse, Repeat :D :D :D :D

If I tried that with scotch... well, my night would be over sooner rather than later.

Yup! My favorite is Bear Republic Racer 5, but it's hard to find outside of Ca. Sierra Nevada Torpedo is awesome and is sold everywhere. If you're a true hop-head, try Sierra Nevada Hoptimum. Be careful, though, it's 10% ABV. :)

It's too bad that many of the great IPAs are way up there in the Alc%. It would be hard to get my money's worth out of a drinks package if all I drank were High % IPAs. Too bad I've never seen a 70ibu 4% beer. Probably would taste awful.

But I like many other drinks as well. I'll be getting my fair share of Rye & Ginger, Old Fashioneds, Gin & Tonics, Bloody Ceasars, Wine, Scotch, as well as many beers :D Also, an assortment of frozen concoctions.

PS Oh... and coffee too :cool:

I'm a hop head myself, usually the more hop the better. But they don't have anything with hop in it. To be honest, I don't really love the long hammer, but it's not bad either.

I read that Long Hammer IPA is rated at 44 ibu, so that barely registers in my bitterness taste buds but still OK for a Light afternoon brew. My favorite IPAs are usually between 70 & 90 ibu and a few are rated at 100ibu :D Yum.

Throw in the unlimited drink packages - yup - it was a wilder/nosier than normal cruise.

On the plus side... I assume the sight seeing/people watching must have been awsome :D

You mean a worse illness than Anaphylaxis? Then that must really be bad:D. But like already stated. You can be legitimately Irritated by cigarette smoke but not Allergic.

I would always get a stella draft to go (22OZ Glass!) Often take it to my balcony with pizza at night, the perfect combination.

 

You can tell in a few of my pictures I didn't focus well, but I was also trying do take them fast to stay out of the dog house by the lady.

Both of those are excellent strategies. I also find it annoying that no matter how many pictures I take for my day job, I still find a way to take a few crappy ones at home.:(

Any how, the abundance of great pics in your reviews far outweigh the few minor flaws that may have snuck in.

Thank you so much for the detailed review and great pics. It makes waiting until April for our Easter weekend 4 day cruise on LOTS even more enticing. I am also a "Beer Junky" and am glad to see that there is at least one IPA in the listings. I had pretty much already figured that the Hoof & Claw would be my go-to place, and guarantee that I will know the bartenders by name and they will know mine ;-) We also purchased the Ultimate PKG ;-)

Thanks again for all the pics. I am a Medical Photographer and carry around a Nikon D300s with a few lenses all day long, so the last thing I want to do is carry a Huge camera when I'm on vacation, but I do end up missing the pics I could get with it. Instead a carry a pocket camera (Nikon AW100) that does an OK job, but Not like a "Real" camera would.

Yay... No corkage fees? That sounds great. We have 2 specialty dinning nights and it would be great to bring a bottle to each of those. Since I know I'll be getting either a lamb dish or other heavy red meat, I already know what wine I'd like to drink.

Hoping they have them on LOS by April. I'm also a big fan of Ginger Ale. It just seems to go so good with rye ;-)
