I'm taking the dance cruise again and might cancel NCL Escape and replace it with another land trip.
Kim,
Thanks for the review. I'll stick to the breeze. Crazy question for you. What is the dance cruise? This sounds like something I'd love to experience.

@Sbtchr,
It appears there are different size D1 balconies. I'm currently booked in cabin 6244, which is a D8 category balcony, but due to its location (on the hump), it looks a little larger than the normal D8 balcony. I keep looking at cabin 8248 for its depth, as it too is a D1, but it looks extra long. I was hoping your cabin was 6244. Oh well, wishful thinking. If you or anybody on this thread who's currently on the ship, can get photos of that cabin, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.
-
@Subtchr, will you advise your cabin #? It doesn't look like a D1 category, but the size of your balcony appears to be slightly larger than the norm.
Thanks!

My last post should have been a reply to Bob Brown's post.😊

@EMTB12
Funny you mention the 12 night cruise. I actually booked that cruise thru next cruise while on the ship last December. I was not able to get the weeks needed to take that cruise, so I switched it to the 9 day Bermuda, Southern Caribbean cruise for my birthday in June 2018. My mom wanted to take her 3 grandsons on a cruse for their 16th bday next year, and I was tasked with finding a ship. I said earlier, we are in need of something different. Because we live in Florida, we take several cruises a year, and none of them are anything like the quantum class. Well, I was able to secure vacation the week before Christmas and I saw this cruise was available, so I made an impulsive decision and booked it for 2 reasons. The 1st was for comparison purposes for the boys' cruise and the 2nd was for 4R for me, meaning to relax, regale, rest, repeat.

Good morning! I will have the pleasure of sailing this beautiful ship for the first time SOLO:D in December. I was reading all of your comments and I had to chuckle, :') because I'm a Florida girl, flying to Jersey to take a trip to Florida and the Bahamas. :eek: Yes crazy me, I know, but the flight was free and I was looking to do something completely different. My question to you all, I hear the weather is hit or miss there. Does the snow start in December or in the actual winter months? (JFM) Someone, please elaborate on the choppy waters. Will it be for the 1st night or pretty much throughout the cruise? We actually sailed the Enchantment from Miami mid December 20160 and the waters were just fine. I expect the 1st and last day to be cold, but does it warm up by day 2? :o We don't arrive to Florida until day 4. I was hoping that I would at least get to enjoy my balcony on day 2. Any info you'd care to share is truly appreciated.

Hello, this may sound crazy, I got an invite for the premier cruises through out the summer which consisted of the 4/5 day cruises. but I haven't seen anything for the months of Aug-Oct. I see above the dates for November and beyond have come out. Apparently, I didn't get an invite for the months in question. So I'm wanting to know was I not invited or has anything come out for Aug--Oct. Thanks!

Hmm, that's tricky. I don't remember seeing a coffee shop onboard, you may want to pay for the card if you go. I'm sorry!
Hi OOT. Please, no need to be sorry, you put me at ease with your awesome pics, thank you for that!!! I actually found pics of "CAFE ROYAL", but I'm still going to wait until onboard. That way, I can confirm they can make them like I like them. Thanks again.
-
The coffee place next to Boleros can probably make this for you. You can wait to get the card on board to ensure this is the case.
Thanks biker, I actually found pics of it adjacent to the bar!

OOT,
I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but i love the specialty coffees, i.e cappuccino, frappe, latte, etc. I see there is a coffee card available and i'm curious if there is anywhere i can get this type of drink prepared. I'm asking because i like mine exxxxtra creamy and sweet:D, and of course the frappe can't be made unless there is a blender somewhere near. I've only done the F and O class ships and I'd get it at the cafe, but this is a different set up, so I wanted to know/confirm if they had the ability to make these before I purchase the card.
Thanks

LOVE LOVE LOVE your review, sweet simple and straight to the point. Nice photos

Small table works better with loungers.
Thanks for the reply! :) They may work better. We typically stay in the JS, and those balconies normally come with 2 loungers and 2 upright chairs with the higher table, so I guess my question should have been "Would the JS balcony be furnished with the same furniture as its sisters?"
-
These are the larger tables that you speak of. I wonder why they went with smaller tables on the other balconies?
Lloyd, yes that is the table I'm speaking of and judging by the chair to the left of the table in your photo, it appears to have some degree of recline. Time will tell.

Hi counsdr! I'm sorry I can't answer that question, as I've only sailed on the Freedom and Oasis class ships. It looks as though the Park Café has been added and it is near the Spa, so they may make them :confused:, but please don't quote me on that.

From reading the blogs on the beverage packages, the Ultimate and Royal DO NOT offer Starbucks on the Oasis class ships?
To confirm, the premium coffee is for the non starbucks locations, and what kind of "shakes" and "smoothies" do they offer. Considering what package for teen and tween.
HI tlcpandb! I purchase the Royal Replenish package for every cruise, and smoothies are included, but as clarea stated, there may be a fee for the protein powder(s). I used to get frappes and other frozen drinks from Café Promenade, but when I was on the Oasis this past February, imagine my surprise when I skipped down from deck 6 all excited for my frappe and the lady making the drink advised they no longer served them. :mad: Of course I asked, "Well, why not?" and her reply was "They removed the blender." so I had to go to the Vitality Café to get anything frozen/blended. Although the trek from the aft of the ship to the bow 5+ times a day for my frappe fix was good exercise, I'm praying the Café Promenade on Harmony will be stocked with a blender. :D

Hi John and LaLa! I didn't take it that way at all, as it is a very valid question. I've been on the sister ships and it was really nice to bring breakfast, lunch and or dinner to our cabin and partake of the food on the balcony, and the larger and higher tables were very efficient and quite comfortable to eat at might I add. I saw in some of the photos where the higher tables were on the interior balconies and I thought maybe they'd keep with that tradition.
-
Thanks for the pics!!! Do you by chance know if they are going to replace the tables with the larger ones like those on the Oasis and Allure? :confused: I notice the larger tables are on the Central Park and Boardwalk balconies.

6650 is a standard balcony cabin size, but it's the balcony that's actually larger than the standard balcony. The angle from it being on the hump however, causes a slight decrease in space on the balcony. Hope this helps.

HI APDMOM!!!! I'm about to embark on this journey, the Oasis of the Seas, and like you, my journey will be all about the ship and not the locations we will visit. Thank you so much for your review, and I appreciate the fact that pictures were taken of everything. I'm one of those kind of people!:D If it is not too much to ask, please, please, please, if you will, please send the compasses to my email addy. It is msraenlqj@yahoo.com. I've made some reservations, but having the compass will allow me to complete my entire scheduling. We leave next month, so hopefully, there won't be many differences, if any, for our cruise. Again, wonderful review, and you have me even more excited about my upcoming vacation. Thanks again!:):D:):D

@stp_mmh5.
Did Central Park have music in the evening and did the Central Park balcony cabins above yours (i.e. 11229, 12229 & 14229) have the extended balcony also?(yn) I was thinking, it would be awesome to lie in a hammock out there some evenings, listening to some soft music while looking at a beautiful starlit sky.<3:ship:
