Thank you so much for your review.Sailing in May with Mom and Sis and am getting quite excited.

Part of the fun is the anticipation! I will say that my wife and I enjoy the research, like reading reviews and watching YouTube videos. In my opinion, the Ascent exceeded our expectations. I hope you continue to enjoy looking forward to the cruise, it’s totally worth it.

    Thanks EP!

Sounds fantastic! My wife and I are taking our first ever cruise on the Ascent in May in the Med.

As there are lots of port stops we went for an interior stateroom on deck 9, but chose the deluxe to have a bit more space.

We're really  looking forward to it.

I think you will love the ship. My wife and I prefer port intensive cruises, ours had only three but we were all looking for a relaxing vacation and we enjoyed the sea days.
    Have a great trip!

Great to hear this..we just booked Tortola by Land and Sea for next year on APEX

.( will we need beach shoes?)

Contrast to our recent Day Trip to NEVIS with lunch..awesome!

Hi hcat I enjoyed reading your posts on Ascent a few weeks back.
You will not need beach shoes, you board a catamaran type boat close to the port, a short walk. After a nice water tour you’re dropped off  at a marina with a bar/restaurant and a few souvenir type shops. Then you board a tram for an island tour with some great views.
    Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing. We our on Ascent in a few weeks on the same itinerary. Any thoughts on the ports?

Best excursion we did was Tortola by Land and Sea, excellent boat ride where you can see the surrounding islands. Fun crew.
Carambola beach on St. Kitts was nice and relaxing. Both excursions got you back on the ship for lunch. The ship is so good I couldn’t wait to get back on and enjoy a nice cocktail and lunch!!

Did you experience any noise (especially at night) in the walls, ceiling of the ship?

Yes, a few nights, we were on deck 10, it seemed like it came from the veranda. We notified our room attendant who had maintenance come and check. Later that day I noticed what looked like a small piece of insulation on the veranda floor. Whatever they did cured it, I never heard anything after that.

  6. First of all, thanks to all on the forums who provide such helpful information and advice, I found it to be invaluable in preparing for my cruise. My wife and I love the process, it extends the anticipation and excitement of our vacation.
I’m just off the Ascent this past Sunday and it was all we hoped for, particularly the quality of the food in all restaurants. Admittedly, I’m very critical of my meals when I eat out, and even after reading positive reviews here and watching YouTube videos, I was still skeptical. But I can honestly say I was very impressed and happy with the quality, taste and presentation of my meals. We were a family of four adults and at each meal, the main topic of conversation was how much we enjoyed our food!  We ate our breakfast in Blu and enjoyed two dinners there. We wanted to experience some other places so we also had great meals in Fine Cut, Tuscan, Cypress, Normandie, ending the cruise on our last night in Eden, a real highlight for us. Don’t miss Eden, the food, service and overall experience was very memorable.
And I can’t forget the wonderful staff in each location, in my experience, you just don’t get that kind of friendly, professional service, even in high end restaurants at home. A huge round of applause to Celebrity, each venue made us feel special. And the personal attention, particularly in Blu, makes you feel like a hundred bucks. It’s 2024, make that a million!

By cruise end, you feel like they’re your friends, seriously.
As far as the ship itself, it is beautiful in all aspects. Love the design, the decor, the colors and the artwork. But of course as with food, it’s subjective to personal taste.
Entertainment in the theater was very good overall, as were the musicians that played in the Grand Plaza and elsewhere around the ship. If you’re looking to go to the martini bar when there’s live music, plan ahead, it gets crowded to where you can’t get a seat.
Cafe il Baccio was a daily ritual for us, great coffee drinks and pastries, great service too, just get a table and they’ll take your order. If you’re a strong coffee drinker like me, I recommend a double shot latte. My wife loved the pistachio latte.
Also loved the Sunset Bar, great location, our weather was damn near perfect every day and weeks and months from now I’ll look back to looking off the back of the ship, recognizing how fortunate I am.
There’s very little negative I can report, our overall experience was terrific. If anyone is on the fence about booking a cruise on the Ascent, my two cents is, go for it. But do your own research, again, this is my opinion, I recognize there are plenty of options when it comes to cruising.
    Best to all.

We had one the last day of 7-day 12/10/23 Ascent cruise. We're headed back on 2/4 so will be interesting to see whether they still do it. It was really kind of mad house that day!

Thanks for responding, Galaxy, yes, from what I’ve heard, it’s like a Black Friday sale!

I’m on the 2/11 cruise, our 4th Celebrity cruise on 4 different ships.
    Bon Voyage!

  8. Hope everyone is doing well.
I’m looking at all the bar menus and I don’t see any frozen cocktails, pina coladas, etc. Are they available but just not listed? I’m guessing that’s the case, as they also don’t list run of the mill drinks like old fashions.
Thanks to all, everyone here has the best advice and information, much appreciated!

@Ensign Pulver I couldn't get checked in on the app, so I just went to a Celeb main page on my phone web browser, clicked "manage your cruise" and it gave me a check in link that did work. (Can't help with the locked rez, I'm afraid. Maybe search here for email to the President?)

Mister Roberts is my favorite movie, BTW! 👍

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated!

Well, I broke down yesterday and called Celebrity, the agent always recommends that people check in on the phone app. It looks like they may have resolved my online issue, at least for the time being. I will check in on Thursday using the app, fingers crossed!

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
    Merry Christmas!

Yes you can. Go to your reservation in the app.  Along the too there are 3 icons. click on the profile picture on the right. That will tell you the date you can check in and yes it’s midnight EST. On the day of check in there will be a check in button. You don’t have to do your complete check in at once. I always just do the time of arrival and do the rest later.

Yes, I see the check in date listed, so you’re saying on that date I should see a check in button?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I checked in on the app. You just need your passport handy to enter information. Takes just a few minutes. The question to me is would you be allowed to enter your account if it is “locked”?

I seem to be able to see my specialty dining and land tour reservations in the app, but of course that’s not an interactive aspect. I guess I will have to contact Celebrity customer service yet again to see if they can offer any assistance.
    Thanks Peter for your response!

  12. Long story, my upcoming Feb 11 Ascent reservation is linked with my brother in laws, as we wanted to ensure our dinner table reservations were together. When I login to the Celebrity site on my computer, I see both of our reservation numbers listed, but I can only access my brother in law’s cruise and flight information, the site says my reservation number has been locked.
I have called Celebrity on three occasions, each time explaining the issue, referencing the open service ticket created on my initial call. I was assured the matter was being handled by I.T., and that I had to give it 5 days or so to be resolved. That was 2 weeks ago. I tried last night and the issue remains. I can’t continue waiting on hold for over an hour just to get a representative on the phone, only to get nothing accomplished.
Soooooo, my question to the knowledgeable people here is, can I check in on my check in date on the phone app. If so, a little information on how to do that would be appreciated!  Is it an easy process?
I want to hopefully get the earliest check in time on boarding day. Do I need to go on the app to check in a few minutes after midnight?!

Sorry for the long winded post, I appreciate any help I can get!!

  13. I should have been more specific in my query, I understand there is a classic menu available every night in all MDR’s, my question refers to the exclusive items specific to the individual restaurants, the three apps and three entrees.
My interpretation of the video information was that you could order the “exclusive” menu items of each MDR no matter which restaurant you are in.
Sorry to belabor this issue, I’m just trying to be clear.
