  1. As ever with SS this only applies if they reduce the price, and not if they add a further benefit for booking. So early booking, long term loyalty are always binned.

I suggest you get your TA to try and make a case for giving you the new benefits. Sometimes it works. Good luck.

Just sent an email to Silversea rep we booked with. Will see what happens.

  2. Am I missing something. We're booked on a Med cruise on the cloud in April. I'm paying the same price as someone booking today who are getting free shore excursions, but, I pay for the same excursions. What happened to the price guaranty that I will not be penalized for booking early?

  3. Just boarded for eleven day cruise, 15 mins and three requests to get a beer at the pool bar/grill can't remember waiting for anything on the Spirit.

Check in was spot on, reception could not be better, very early days.

Would appreciate further updates on service.

  4. It may be helpful if someone with a lot of days on Silversea forwarded this thread to one of the execs with clout at SS Someone over there has to be concerned about loosing business.

  5. We're committed to a 24 day cruise on the cloud in April. Hopefully SS will get their act together before then. The real question is whether SS is aware of these issues. If they are, and don't respond to long time customer's complaints, they won't be able to survive in a very competitive market. Let's hope they put an effort in to retain their 100 plus day customers.

  6. You can access newspapers and movies, even some TV, on their dime.

I haven't seen any info about accessing newspapers on their dime. Would be helpful since my wife will try to wrest the Internet access from me as much as possible. Can anyone just log in and have access to newspapers?

  7. works for us!

Checked with Silversea and found they were able to beat even the round trip fare. We're taking back to back cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Athens. Silversea priced it at $1200 per person (Phoenix to Ft Lauderdale and Athens to Phoenix). Should have looked into that in the first place. Thanks for the suggestion.

  8. Silver Cloud Voyage 1511 disembarks Athens, Greece. One way airfare to Phoenix is about three times the round trip fare. It makes more sense to buy the round trip ticket and not use the return. Has anyone had a problem using this approach.?

  9. I have a travel size white noise machine which we use on cruises or in hotel rooms whenever we travel. It is a brilliant piece of kit. Doesn't eliminate noise, but it certainly muffles it.

Any particular brand of white noise machine?

  10. Several reviews of the Silver Cloud complain about poor sound insulation of the cabin walls. Has anyone experienced noise from adjacent suites on the Cloud? We're considering a 24 day combo cruise and a noisy suite would be a real downer.

  11. If you're reading email, 60 minutes per day would probably be plenty. I enjoy reading newspapers and Web browsing. 60 minutes could go by very quickly, especially when you have several consecutive days at sea. Also, I like to upload photos to the cloud to back them up which, at the slower speeds on board, could take quite a while.

  12. On our last cruise on the Silver Shadow, unlimited Internet access was offered on a daily rate as well as a per minute rate. Planning on a cruise on the Silver Cloud. Does any one know if daily Internet access is available on the cloud as well or do you have to buy mInutes?
