  1. Just an FYI you can carry stuff onboard....the prices are HORRIBLE a normal sized can of Pringles were about $5 onboard, Had to get cough drops $5, normal sized bottle of Day Quil? EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! Lets just say that I now carry a small pharmacy onboard for far less than what they would charge. I also have no issue with packing several bags of snack food for when we are in the cabin for the night and just want something small to snack on.

  2. Nothing is open except breakfast. You can sit around in one of the holding areas but seems pointless to me. We always carry our bags off and we drive to the port so we are never in a hurry. But i don’t see the point in sitting around on the ship when you can get off and go sit around at home. 🤷🏻*♀️

We do the same, we get up early and grab breakfast and head off the ship, we just got off of Majesty on Dec 26th and I can assure you that there will not be much to do. The Windjammer is open earlier on that day to accommodate all of the people getting off the ship early. As @AmandaKaye79 has stated it just isn't that entertaining to be there, the Windjammer is packed, and it just isn't fun sitting around. We were off the ship by 0830 and on our way to the parking lot!:D

  3. Not going to try to convince you either way but you have heard some good sound advice here. My first cruise ever was on an Oasis class ship, so impressed that we booked a second cruise with the kids the same year on Enchantment, while it was nice it definitely did not have the "WOW" factor for us that the Oasis class did. It was a great time and I would do it again but if you are wanting something to blow you away then pick the top three classes of ship that RCCL has, Oasis, Quantum, or Freedom class. They will blow your socks off and will become the destination vs just being your transportation to the port. If this will be your first time sailing RCCL then you may want to stay away from such an old ship because you more than likely will not be happy with your choice. It is small, older, and doesn't have as many things that you and your family may be looking for. We have been on an older smaller ship (Vision of the Seas) for a week long cruise and we quickly discovered that we prefer the larger ships vs smaller ones. Not knocking any of them it is just our preference, do yourself a favor and don't pick just because of Atlantis because you are taking a MUCH greater chance of being a little underwhelmed on Majesty vs something like Freedom of the Seas or Harmony of the Seas.

  4. ......we are.....B2B on the Harmony for April 2018 :D

Anyone else booked that far in advance?

    Safe travels to all! :)

We are booked for June 2018 on Explorer, and in March 2019 on Anthem the only reason that we have not booked more in 2019 and 2020 is because it is not up yet! We have discovered that the farther out that you book the cheaper the price. So as soon as the future schedule comes available we will book those as well!! I have an addiction and I know it! :D

  5. Used it, did not put anything crazy in the bag and got all of my stuff back without any issues. I completely stuffed the bag and everything came back in another bag folded, only issue that we had was that as someone else has stated do not put whites in there. They will not come back white whatsoever! I wish that they did have laundry facilities but oh well, I still will enjoy my cruise! I do not want to return home with a suitcase full of smelly laundry.

  6. Thank you for sharing, as I stated earlier I was extremely curious with all of the bad reviews and what I was reading was starting to make me wonder. After reading your post I can say that my usual pre cruise excitement has returned and I can not wait until the 22 of December!!! Your effort is greatly appreciated!

  7. Let me know how it goes! Never been on her, but from what I have read reviews have been mixed! Normally we go on two cruises per year, past 2 years we have been dry due to scheduling conflicts as well as school. So I have a feeling that unless something crazy happens we will still be happy! We will be staying on the same deck as you. Good luck and have fun!

  8. Going Western Caribbean in Dec. and want to know where and what port you can buy pure white Hennessy and was there any problems bringing home to the states.

Did not answer the second part of your question in my other post, but yes you can bring it back into the USA, without any problems. As in the other post we had two bottles and it made it just fine and without any issues!

  9. Done almost the same cruise as you, we cruised RCCL, and the cruise was about two years ago. Wife had to work and the cruise was over Easter, only one person would work for her and the condition that he made was that she had to buy him two bottles of White Hennessy, we priced it at several ports and actually found that the price on the boat was better than any we found in the ports. We had 4 ports (Roatan, Belize City, Costa Maya, and Cozumel) after the first three we saw the trend and just got it on the ship.

  10. All of my cruises have been with RCCL and we have never been asked for our room number, when we reserved dining for the MTD they asked for our card but we normally do the traditional dining. I highly doubt that you will be asked your room number, I honestly can't remember a time where I have been asked for my room number. Not sure what other cruise lines do but like I said we have always sailed with RCCL just so you know.

  11. If my memory serves me correctly the answer is no, I rented one from Budget which is not far from the terminal. They had a shuttle to the terminal, there are only a few companies that are close and offer a shuttle. I had searched many posts on this one prior to my cruise a few years ago and ended up changing my reservation to Budget because of this reason. I remember reading that there are quite a few that say that they have a shuttle but do not, and you end up having to get a cab or and Uber from the rental company office to the cruise terminal. Theres Sixt, I used a rental car after the cruise as well and just took a taxi over to Dollar on the way out of the terminal. This is the thread that was helpful to us. Good luck!

  12. We have a cruise planned for June 22 2018 any and all reservations have already been made, if the major stuff is out of the way now you can sit back relax and focus on the small stuff like what shore excursions you plan on doing or what you would like to do with that day that you arrive early. The main thing is that you have already done one of the major smart things and are planning on arriving one day early!

  13. My first cruise was much sooner than some that have already posted, my first was in April 2013 on Oasis of the Seas with RCCL, the ports were Labadee Haiti, Falmouth Jamaica, and Cozumel Mexico. The trip was wonderful and had quickly turned me into a cruise junkie. For YEARS I had heard friends talk about cruising but always thought that there was no way I would be interested, and wondered why everyone loved them so much. Now I wish I would have taken the time to learn about it before I did!!!

Biggest learning point was learning about the boards and learning just how "green" I really was to the experience! I now consider myself somewhat savvy to the whole cruise experience and find myself on some sort of forum, or website at least once daily and it tends to go up the closer that I get to a cruise, I know its an illness and I can't help myself!

The best discovery that I have would just simply be how relaxing and wonderful it is! Both the wife and I work high stress jobs and are raising twins, so life for us is rather hectic. I have been on quite a few vacations around the world but for us absolutely NOTHING compares the the attention and pampering that we receive on a cruise (provided you do you're homework). It takes us about 2-3 days before we de-stress and start to get into the rhythm and actually enjoy ourselves.

The best advice that I could give anyone is to arrive at least one day prior to the cruise, plan ahead and do your homework on all of the various forums and ask any and all questions that you may have there. The last piece of advice is do yourself a favor and carry a small first aid kit as well as some OTC medications with you on the ship. Not going to say what to carry but having it in your luggage is much cheaper and convenient than a trip to the hospital on the ship. Some friends found out the hard way how expensive it was, and furthermore that it was not covered by their insurance. It was NOT pretty at all!!! A $15 first aid kit would have taken care of their problem but instead they paid hundreds more than that!!

  14. I HIGHLY doubt that they would touch the CPAP, that is a medical device prescribed by a Dr. I am pretty sure that even a lawyer that couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag would be able to win that lawsuit in court. I would not think that they would confiscate that at all, if they did once it was explained that it was a medical device I am pretty sure that they would hand it right back rather quickly.

  15. I have been on several cruises with my fan, our bedroom at home stays around 68 degrees during the summer and even cooler during the night. The wife even prefers it cooler because she has found out that she sleeps better. We have both found that in order for the cabin to be comfortable for us we need a fan. Next cruise is in 77 days and we both hope that the fan makes it through security again!

  16. Just an FYI RCCL started a "price integrity" policy a few years ago, not sure about anyone else but they will not deeply discount their rooms prior to sailing. The cheapest price that you will find is the day that it becomes available and it just goes up in price from there. For this reason we typically book as far in advance as we are able. I would say for us the shortest time was about one year. Here is a link to what I am talking about......

  17. These seats were reserved for suite passengers. The suite passengers got there early and picked out the seats they wanted. They sat patiently waiting for the show to begin. At some point before the show the suite seats were open to the public.

Someone waited patiently, stalking out the seats until the seating was opened to the public. She then tried to push her way into the "good" seats that she hadn't paid for but was now allowed to use. Instead of being happy that she could get a seat there she started gathering her friends to sit there as well. This meant them having to get up and disrupt the people in the seats they were already in. Then she expected the person that actually paid for the right to sit there to move. Being rude to me would not have been the way to win.

Had it been me, I would have said no. I paid for my seat and I was entitled to use it. Why should I move? You came into where I was sitting.

Unless, like some PPs have stated if it were a family with small kids or for a disabled person but not because you couldn't bear to be separated from your friends who already had seats for 30 minutes.

Well said and I agree completely! (y)(y)

  18. What can possibly go wrong? Here's a thread from last year that may be of interest:

FAA grounded all flights to Florida missed cruise

    :o:o

$11,000 gone all in one day? My God I would have hit the roof! And that is an EXCELLENT example why its important to get there early. I hope that the original inquirer is listening. The only cruise that I would arrive that day for is one that I know is only a few hours drive away so I know that I should make it. We have one out of Cape Liberty in 2019 which is about an 10 hour drive for us. We are dropping the kids with family about an hour and a half away from Cape Liberty but I can assure you that we will be in PA the day ahead of time that way we will not be stressing about traffic, or mechanical failure, or a flat tire. Not being pushy just giving you good sound advice. The final decision is yours, but please choose wisely. :D

  19. Like most here we enjoy sea days as well, we are busy enough at home wife is in school as well as working as an RN, I average about 80+ hours of work every week unless I am on vacation, balance that with trying to raise twins and you can see how busy we are! That being said we do enjoy sea days because it gives us a chance to relax! As someone else said we sleep in! We also may see a show, go to bingo, watch a movie, but basically that is the day that we agree that we will explore things on the ship and just kick back and relax. I will say that several back to back sea days would get old after awhile ESPECIALLY if they were not planned and I was looking forward to the shore excursion that I had booked. For us (when we are not bringing the kids) we sail on the larger ships like Oasis and Quantum of the Seas so there is always more than enough to do on sea days. Lets just say those are the days that I tell myself that I will take my big butt to the gym but uh......that does not happen all the time! since I too tend to sleep, eat, nap repeat!
