    That is incredible.

Ok I"m going to show my age.    When in College I had a Corvette that got about 8-10 miles to the gallon.     At that time gas would run in the range of 25 cents to 35 cents a gallon.   A couple dollars would keep me going.

Hi Jim,  Just caught up.  Looking forward to your cruise with Ponant.

I can relate to the gas prices.  I got my license and my father said, since I was driving  the family cars, he told me no matter what I was to make an effort to put gas in the tank.  I remember 1 time (was still in high school) all I had was 50 cents and that"s what I put in. 2 gallons of gas was better than nothing I figured.

  2. We were on the Summit Feb 2016 & 2020 both on the 9th deck below the pool.  2016 didn't hear anything. In 2020 I think I heard some chairs moving 1 morning but I was already awake (6 am ish).  So it wasn't a problem for us.  If you're a late sleeper it might be a problem.

  3. Hi Jim,

Finally all caught up.  Wishing you safe and happy travels.  Been watching with Ft. Lauderdale weather. We have not been on a transatlantic yet not traveled "across the pond" but are working on at least getting to the Med within the next year or 2 (I finally retired and have the time).

Looking forward to following your amazing cruises and adventures and learning a thing or 2.

  4. Ever since my DH got norovirus 10 yrs ago or so I never use my finger tips on elevator buttons, I use my knuckles, this includes hotels and any other place I use an elevator.  I don't touch the rails walking up or down stairs.  He was soooo sick, I never want to go thru what he went thru.

  5. Yesterday afternoon after reading this board I printed pg 2 of our stmt showing the 100 sh owned.  Blacked out everything I remembered and emailed it (forgot to fill out shareholder benefit form)  with the pg from our stmt and a note in the email including our reserv id for our b2b next Feb.

Don't know what I did right, but got confirmation tonight, barely 24 hrs later.  Maybe it has to end up with the right person, but guess I got lucky.

  6. The 1st time we went to Le Petit Chef was on the Summit 2/2020 just before cruising stopped.

We got a 1st night discount.  Food was very good, but we really enjoyed the animation/show.

We were at a resort in Mexico in Oct 2021 & they had it there also.  Enjoyed the food and show much better on the Summit.

We'll be on the Silhouette in a couple of weeks.  Planning on going again. Would prefer not to pay full price so...we'll see.

Back in Sept I had ordered a 6 pk from eMed.  Thought nothing about looking for an expiration date.  Was planning on using 2 in Oct, 2 in Dec and 2 in Feb.  When I finally did look at the exp date, they had expired before I even ordered them.  But that was when the exp date had been extended 3 months.

A couple of weeks ago I called eMed since my final 2 would be unusable (expired from original extention).  Below is the email I received after going back and forth with them a few times.

So my final 2 kits will still be good for our Feb 25 cruise.

    Dear Valued Customer,

    Thank you for contacting eMed.

Effective immediately, the test kits that have an original expiration date of September 2021, October 2021, and November 2021 have since been extended for an additional 6 months by the FDA. This means their updated expiration dates are now **March 2022, April 2022, and May 2022.

**The updated expiration date will be determined by the date you have on each test kit. Please take a look at the date next to the hourglass on the white label to find the original expiration date. Once you locate the original date, you will then add an additional 6 months to determine your kit’s updated expiration date.

For example, if your current expiration date is September 6, 2021, your new expiration date is now March 6, 2022.

Please note, if your purchase was made on or after December 1, 2021, you should have received test kits with an expiration date in October 2022 or November 2022. These particular kits are not under the extension at this time due to the fact that they were recently manufactured.

When you are ready to test, please visit www.emed.com and click on "start testing".  Once your test kit expiration date falls within the aforementioned dates, you will be able to test with no issues.

For more information regarding the expiration date extension, you may visit www.fda.gov or click on the actual link to the FDA extension letter:  https://www.fda.gov/media/155326/download

    Thank you for choosing eMed.

    Best regards,

  8. DON'T DO IT!!!!!  Until they fix whatever problem it is.  We were on the 12/11 sailing in an aft haven  corner suite.  It was so bad the 1st night the concierge found us another cabin to sleep in the rest of the cruise.  Used it the 2nd night.  The 3rd night was not as bad as day 1 & 2, yes you could feel it during the day also.  Not just the haven aft cabins but the aft of the ship.  When traveling between Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel it was much better, but the night we left Cozumel wasn't good.

    The last night was ok.

  9. Personally I will never book another aft Haven suite until the "known issue" is resolved.

Nice size and we didn't mind the walk (walk off those calories).  It wasn't even the noise issue as much as the vibration on the 3 out of 7 nights.  Vibrated so badly the 1st night, that woke up multiple times to take a pee!!!  Not just me, but both of us.  I normally get up 1x per night, but 5 times is a bit much.

Even Armando (concierge)  thought the vibration was really bad.  When we spoke with him, the Haven was full so we couldn't be moved, but he found us another cabin (mini suite) to sleep in.

We were in a forward facing Haven suite on the Getaway a few years ago.  Balcony much smaller, still have plenty of room in the cabin (living rm & bdrm) and Haven is easily accessible for the sundeck and pool.

    Don't do it!!!

The Joy Aft Haven cabins do look amazing, but I am not sure I am going to take the chance just yet.    My husband does not even know we changed our cabin to a Haven Penthouse so he would be fine.  But, our 25th wedding anniversary will be on this cruise and it will be the first vacation without our two young adult children so I thought the Aft Haven would be just perfect.     I think I will wait it out another week.

The views from the aft suite are amazing, but until the "fix" the problem or change the itinerary, I'd stay away from the aft cabins.

You'll have a wonderful cruise in the Haven Penthouse especially with no children.

    Happy anniversary, enjoy the cruise.
