I don't really expect anything when they have to cancel due to a global pandemic and it is all out of their control.....but it is a great gesture of customer service and indicator of valuing my business. How they can have a rolling year of pandemic cancellations and keep offering significant % discounts to everyone for each time they cancel and rebook is beyond me. I suppose it is just part of the game and why prices are now about 50% more than 2 years ago.
I just wish they wouldn't offer it at all if they think they may not be able to honor it.
THAT SAID....I just talked to NCL and lo and behold the agent WAS able to find my long lost 10% discount that other TA and other NCL agents tried to tell me didn't exist. I got mine for a March 2020 cancellation of a January 2021 sailing and she said it is good for booking made by 12/31/21 that complete their sailing by 02/28/23, so that is looking up (if I can get them to find it again when I am ready to book ha ha).
It doesn't matter how many times they offer discounts if they keep getting cancelled. They only have to ultimately honor 1 discount. I had 1 booking that was cancelled at the beginning and they offered me a 25% discount which I used for a cruise that would have been in Jan 2021. After that one got cancelled I was offered a 10% discount for my next cruise.

That doesn't seem to make much sense. I would ask them why you would get an e-mail offering a bonus 25% future credit. If you cancelled the cruise on your own they would not be offering any extras.

I have Cruise Next certificates in CAD and USD. I booked a cruise in USD on a US online Travel Agent site so my CNs were issued in USD. My next cruise I booked with NCL online so it automatically defaulted to CAD and when I bought CNs on board they were issued in CAD. When I have booked a cruise online with NCL, they have converted my USD CNs to CAD for the deposit. Maybe a US TA can't do that conversion with FCCs? Maybe NCL would do it if OP booked direct.
NCL will 100% do it if they book direct with them. OPs TA is probably offering extra on board credit with their bookings so they want to book with them instead of NCL.

1) Go to a TA in Canada who will book the cruises in CAD.
2) Are you are sure it is BETTER SERVICE when they can only book in USD!!
3) Stay away from NCL ,book with other professional cruise lines. But you didn't book with NCL!!
4) What is your problem with NCL; it is your TA that doesn't do what you want to do?
Right? NCL won't convert their CAD credit to USD so NCL bad. TA won't convert their USD price to CAD but TA good.

Wow.
If I'm doing my math right, if 70% of the US population will be immune by summer, and 1/2 of that will be through natural infection, then the CDC is estimating that 25% of the US population will have had COVID by summer?
That's what, 110million people?
That's terrifying.I wouldn't be surprised if that many people have been exposed to the virus but not caught it. Especially by summer.

I don't see the problem here. As others have said pretty sure you could still be a carrier and on top of that the vaccine would have to have 100% efficacy rate to be good enough.

The one thing I find is a bit BS is having an expiry date on the FCC of the original value of the cruise. I can understand putting an expiry on the bonus FCC issued.

do a chargeback, they cant offer back an fcc if they dont know when they can sail again and they have an expire date on the original fcc.
took me 2 months but i got a final letter of siding with me. they really cant fight it with no guaranteed date of sailing.
Usually can't do a chargeback after 3 or 4 months I don't think.

I have a December cruise booked right now, I never made final payment on it. NCL still hasn't even tried to contact me about making final payment and when I log into my account it's still booked. I wonder if they ever will.

Both my cruises qualified for the additional 15% Latitudes discount (which I don't see promoted on the main NCL.com page). I'm not sure if all cruises do or not.
You can click on cruise deals at the top of the main ncl page and then click on past guest offer. It will show all the sailings with the discount. Looks like it's most of them but not all.

yes they did, that deal was probably 5/6 years ago? Sail away, comes and goes, and in the past showed up for later bookings.
I did a Bermuda cruise- that offered the drink package without the tips mandatory. And I grabbed a lower rate without it. Booked less than a week prior. At the time, included drink package rate was about $200++ more, on a $399 rate that I paid. 🙂
I do miss those times. I'm pretty sure the cruise line made 0 profit from me for a couple of the cruises. They've gotten it back though.

Guarantee rates are different from sail-away rates.
They didn’t have sail away rates back then

No it wasn’t free. Your cruise price was more that a sail away rate. I have personally seen $1000 differences. I always book sail away at significant savings and in the past sailed at least monthly. 🤩. Saw the different rates all the time.
Wasn’t there a time where you got the perks even with guarantee rates?

Since we are approaching 1 year with no cruises, all certs should be automatically extended 1 year. Anything else is greed.
Completely agree with this. And we will probably see that happen once they resume cruising.

Trust me number one I don't care about the size of the room because I am never in it. Just give me back my $700 dollars that it cost me to not be able to book early and I will be fine. Also they are still selling the expensive rooms and pushing the 125 day booking early Perk. You may like people lying and taking your money but it bothers me. If I can't book early give me back the extra money and everything will be fine.
You should still be able to cancel for full refund right now.

If your CC told you it was going to be cancelled ahead of the public announcement, they would most likely be fired. They only tell you what the company allows them to tell you.
They likely aren’t even told until just before it’s announced. Maybe not even before.

If you waited this late to get your flights booked for a November cruise then you are paying too much.
I can buy airfare for November right now for the same price I bought my December flights 4 months ago.

You need to wait and see what happens. IMO NCL is going to be extending all of these FCCs after they start sailing again. They can't legally keep your money IF they changed a cruise.
It would probably be a very bad PR move if they even tried.

I imagine passengers staring at final payment deadlines approaching are most on edge. Will they or won’t they?
Yup and the people that have already paid for November cruises. Do you buy airfare or not at this time.
-
If they are legally allowed to cruise by then they will.

Not sure about the 2022 question. You can always try to do a mock booking online while you’re logged in and when you get to the payment page see if your cruise next coupons show up as a form of payment.

Generally it’s 2 per cabin when you book balcony or above 6 months in advance. Sometimes they have promos where it’s 2 per cabin any category any date.

The no sharing permitted is more like you can't use one of your dining credits to cover the cost of someone else's meal in a specialty dining (such as a friend you met in another cabin). It's not saying you can't share the individual meal you order.
