  1. My dh and I have been to both islands and we believe both are truly worth a visit. we are not "beachy" people so I can't answer about their beaches, but Curacao is beautiful. And Aruba was totally different than we thought it would be. Very much a desert environs. we took island tours on both places to get a feel for them. Also, In Aruba, we were there late into the evening and we went to the casino and won $800! so maybe that influences our memories a little.lol. Check out the excursions available for both to see what appeals to you. I'm sure you will be pleased to visit both!

It's our number one favorite cruise

  2. Hi everyone,

Our return flight home from San Juan has been changed by the airline and the departure has been moved to 1:05.

We plan on leaving the ship self assisted.

Can anyone tell me what the procedure is for leaving the ship in San Juan. Do we clear customs at the ship port? As a Canadian, do you have to have a customs check again at the San Juan airport?

I am just trying to figure out the time lines and if we will have sufficient time.

    Thanks

You will have plenty of time to get to the airport remember at the airport to go thru the agricultural time before check in

  3. I received a call today from someone who identified themselves as Carnival, and recognized that I had sailed with Carnival in the past. They then proceeded to tell me I was selected for a $1,599 package that involved a minimum 7-day cruise plus a separate 7-day resort stay that could be booked within the next 18 months.

Problem is, the phone number I got on caller ID, 866-227-4949, is coming up with no significant information on Google, and certainly isn't coming back as a Carnival number.

The deal sounds lovely, and given we are likely going to sail again next June, I'd like to find out if there's any way that I can verify whether or not this is a legitimate deal. What would be the best way to go about doing that?

Got same call, googled while on phone with gentleman and it is a scam coming out of Jamaica so when I told him of course he hung up quickly.

  4. We did a large family Christmas cruise one year, for my children and grandchildren it was their first cruise and they will honestly admit that they were tired of hearing me talk about returning to the ship on time throughout the months leading up to the cruise. On our first day again I remind them that we will be in port tomorrow and it is a short day, they were all booked on Carnival excursions and they need to be back to the ship an hour before sailing. Of course I get the mocking "Sure Mom". Post excursion two out of our three families meet up with us for drinks prior to boarding, at the table beside us is a family with two daughters that want to have their hair braided before going back to their ship. The wife says "no" we don't have time and the husband says "yes" we have plenty of time and a small fight in sues with the husband winning, so off they go. We later meet up with them as we are walking the dock to our ship only they are running and yelling at their ship to stop. Sure enough their ship is pulling out of port and it is not slowing down or returning. My children just looked at me and for the first time there was complete silence broken with nervous laughter. We board the ship and are on our balcony when my husband asks the boys if they have seen their sister, there she was running to the ship on the second horn yelling at her husband about allowing their daughter to stop and get her hair braided. They pulled the gang plank back out for them but they also got a stern warning from the crew, sometimes Mom knows best.

  5. Actually we did it last November thru another company and we had a great time. November/December is not their rainy season so the river is more like traveling down a lazy river. With the company you are hooked together with your feet under the arms of the person infront of you and so you all stay together, there are a few mild rapids but not anything too serious and to tell you the truth we were sort of wishing for more rapids. We had a great time. The tubing was cheaper then Carnivals excursion and we went thru more caves. Carnivals excursion was to let everyone go on their own. Where we had 3 guides for our group of 12. This was an unfortunate accident but anything can happen at any given time, on this particular cruise our next stop was Roatan and we went Zip lining the next month someone died during the same excursion.
