  1. First of all, welcome to Cruise Critic.

Secondly, I am sorry to hear of your husband's cancer.

I believe Celebrity will do all they can to accommodate him.

My suggestion would be to get in touch with the Special Needs department at Celebrity and start

by discussing this with them. They would be able to advise you as to what is possible, as far as menus.

    their email is:

    special_needs@rccl.com

    Best of luck

I have cruised on luxury lines and I have cruised on Celebrity (many times),  Read my lips....Celebrity is not a luxury line!   As to what is charged on Luxury lines, it does vary.  But as an example, on Seabourn they do not charge for anything (not even tips) except for higher end wines and very high end booze such as Remy Martin Louis XIII (that stuff normally costs about $3500 a bottle).  On lines like Seabourn and Silverseas if you want caviar you simply ask....and there is no extra charge.

Refresh my memory, what's the typical per day charge for Seaborne and Silverseas in a balcony?

  3. We currently have four cruises booked. Summit repo for October this year, one April 2023. November 2023, April 2024. The only one that has any data on the app is the THIRD booking, November 2023

The others, when I attempt to bring them up them say "We're working on the fun" check back later.

    Anyone else seeing this?

I know its not too early because the Nov 2023 is ok, and I  have always been able to get into any future cruise.

Which shoreside dept would you contact about this? I know its early, but I don't want to just let this go until it interferes with check in.

  4. Wondering about the debarkation procedure on Summit when you leave early and carry your own luggage off.

Where does the line begin for this?

When do people start lining up for a 7 am ship arrival?

How long should I expect to take getting off the ship?

    Thanks in advance.

Viking is one. PCR lab onboard. Masks. Limited capacity pools, dining rooms, etc. No one on our cruise got it, although it is possible.

    Wish I could afford Viking!

There are cruise lines that require a negative PCR test, and do daily PCR testing. They are out there if you look.

Names, please. Don't hold back. This is potentially good information.

Current deck plans show a Captain's Club Lounge on Summit, which should be like the Diamond Lounge on RCL with continental breakfast in the morning and appetizers in the evening. Sounds like Celebrity is also opening the drinks to other bar venues during a set time frame, whereas RCL it was all day with a max of 4 drinks for Diamond.

Where exactly did you find the "Captain's Club Lounge" on the Summit deck plans?

Just got off the Summit, never saw it.

  8. As I read the Terms and conditions for CruiseCare, it seems to me that the

"CruiseCare® Cancel For Any Reason Cruise Vacation Enhancement" comes as part of the insurance package.

There is no mention of an extra charge for this. Am I reading this correctly?

    Thanks for any help.

  9. I am preparing to take the Binax home test for Covid 19, which Uses the Navica app.

When I go to the Navica app website, it says my result will be given to me ON MY CELL PHONE,

in the form of a QR code indicating I have passed (assuming I have tested negative).

How do I transfer this information to a hard (paper) copy to use as backup, in case I have a problem with my phone?

    TIA

This is a cruise forum; what is the relevance of sharing your airplane protocols?

Because most of us fly to get to a cruise.

And this will probably impact wearing masks in the cruise terminal.

And the question is at least tangentially relevant to the topic at hand.

  11. I think that Celebrity should establish a homeport in Wilmington NC. That would be very convenient for me and my family and for a lot of NC cruisers who currently have to fly to Florida.

Maybe homeport the Beyond there, cause we would like a big, new, shiny ship, too. Perhaps even free shuttle service from Raleigh and Charlotte, that would be nice.

After all, NC seniors are entitled, too! 😉
