  1. I would have literally been crying. As someone that is terrified of bugs, I would have been a total nervous wreck for the rest of the entire cruise. No one wants to pay to go on vacation to a room with bugs in it! I would have wanted either a same category room that was to my standards or a COMPLETE refund, I understand where this cruiser is coming from. It is unacceptable for a room to have bed bugs in it!!!! There should be inspections after every sail in each room. I AM TOTALLY FREAKED OUT NOW, I sail on the Epic this coming weekend!! For those of you asking what kind of compensation is wanted... I answer a FULL REFUND!!! This is just disgusting and they actually bit them also! I would have died. TERRIBLE!!!

  2. Awesome! We are so excited. Maybe we can meet up while on the ship.

Sure! Are you doing the meet & greet? I don't think I will... I have so much planned that I am not sure if we will be able to do any of the cruise critic stuff. We are renewing our vows in Jamaica. If you see a dressed up couple leaving 1st thing in the morning when docked in Jamaica, that is us :) Janell and Freddy.

  3. I'm on the same cruise. In Jamaica we booked Peat Taylor Tours for a Dunns RIver falls and best of Ocho Rios tour and in Grand Cayman we booked grandcaymancruiseexcursions com for a catamaran to stingray city with a reef snorkel. They were both significantly cheaper than the excursions NCL offers.

  4. ...and you started a thread?

Yes I did. At the time it was important to me. If you didn't feel as if it wasn't important then please do not comment and skip over my question. Lately all I see is people on here being so defensive over someone else's questions and just blatantly rude to everyone. People.. This is a forum for questions. Last I understood, anything can be asked. Please don't be rude.

  5. You are fine, typical at the overnight hours for NCL site/server to be offline for maintenance and update, etc. - usually back shortly & running as usual by the early morning.

it's back up already. Now to book some specialty dining :):D

  6. We like to book thru the cruise department of one of the major US airlines. We always get between 6 & 8 airline miles added to our frequent flyer account for every dollar we spend on the cruise (not taxes, fees, or gratuities). For a $2000 cruise we get 12k-16k miles. It only takes 20k miles for award tickets within the US with the airline we use, so that gets us there pretty quick.

They usually also have chocolate strawberries or a bottle of wine in our stateroom too (depending on cost of cruise).

The price is the same as the cruise line's price except they add a $25 transaction fee. That's worth the miles in my book!

The agents are nice & know their stuff & do the price adjustments if you let them know about lower prices.

I do the same! Book through an airline for the miles ;)

  7. Here is the link to AT&T Maritime roaming info:

Looks like NCL is considered a "non-qualifying" ship and you would have to pay pay-per-use fees which are:

Pay-per-use rates apply without the package and when traveling on non-qualifying cruise ships:

    Calling: $2.50/minute

Messages Sent: $0.50/text and $1.30/picture or video

    Data: $0.0195/KB ($19.97/MB)

  8. I just don't understand why they just don't go ahead and make it part of the price you are quoted up front? Makes it seem like an additional price on top of the price you just paid since it is mandatory anyways? I pay the DSC. Just wish it was all combined...

  9. I seriously thank cruiseyesplease! for starting this thread!!!

At first I thought no way, as like some others here, we eloped which cost us a lot less. But then I started thinking about my mom missing out on our original ceremony (we were supposed to have a big wedding afterwards but had to cancel) and how this year's cruise will probably be the last time she'll be able to travel with us, and suddenly it turned into being a great idea. My mom suggested we renew our vows a couple of years ago and our anniversary is less than two weeks before we sail, so why not surprise her on the Escape :D! Hoping the coordinator will get back to me tomorrow to schedule. I still have some of our original wedding invitations left so I think I will try to edit one with whatever date we get and then give it to my mom once we're on the ship or the day before the ceremony. I'm so excited and cannot wait to surprise her - I don't know how I'm going to keep this from her for the next 9 months! I only wish my wedding gown could still fit me as the only time I wore it was during my fittings, but that would take a miracle !

You are welcome! You guys basically talked me out of it and now seeing your excitement I want to go ahead and go through with it!! LOL! I still have it reserved. I might just keep it :) Thanks for your newfound excitement!!

  10. What do you get for $499. Its hard to say if its worth it if there is no offerings ;)

I would hope to see something like:

Dinner for 2 at Cagneys with a bottle of wine

A couples massage at the spa

    Small cake

    And vow renewal ceremony

    Email states:

Bottle of sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries & canapés in stateroom

Vow ceremony performed by a ship officer

    Ceremony music

    One single red rose

    Couples cake

    Champagne toast

    Keepsake vow renewal certificate

8x10 professional portrait in engraved frame
