Agree that there should have been a private hot tub.  Easily enough space if they lost the big round sunbed and put it there. We also used the hot tub just outside the door in the upper retreat area, several times. Useful to be able to get straight back on to the balcony through the special door. It’s still an amazing Suite though.

Nooooooo! The big round daybed was my favourite spot!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Was any reason given why there was no hot tub on these amazing balconies?

We were considering one (special birthday treat) but the lack of a small hot tub was a deal breaker.

I assume stability but hoping some expert here could shed some light!

Absolutely not an expert, and we thought they had missed a trick too, but all we could guess was that there is one just outside each suite on the deck. Not private obviously. It can’t be stability (if I’ve understood your meaning) as MSC Royal suite has the most fabulous one on the balcony. As I say, I think they made a big mistake.
One thing which is good, if it’s still the case, is the forward Retreat pool is pretty tricky to find and as a result doesn’t tend to get very busy. I had a few lone swims in there (it’s down some stairs just outside the suite). The friends we travelled with were in the other Sky Suite and they used the hot tub outside their suite every night, I don’t think anyone else was around.

WiFi is not included. We are elite and bought the 4 device plane at 50% off. Adam uses 2 and I  use 2.
‘Agreed there is no need for a drinks package as there is ample beer, wine and cocktails provided.

    That’s rather annoying! 😩

  4. It’s the WiFi that I was particularly interested in as I’m sure last time we had included WiFi for 4 devices but our TA had said it wasn’t included.

We won’t have the drinks package because with all the included alcohol I don’t think we will need it but would have been a bit peeved to have to buy WiFi.

We were chosen as first guests on the Enchanted Princess and were upgraded to the Sky Suite. Here is our video of S309. It will not disapoint!

That’s really interesting. Thank you for sharing. It’s quite different inside from Sky Princess as Sky has the dividers in the living area between dining and sitting plus both bedrooms have fairly substantial dressing rooms. But I imagine the bedrooms on Enchanted are therefore bigger?
    Same incredible balcony. 😃

Ivan confirmed free laundry is included. The sky suite has all the perks of full suites

    Thank you!
That makes sense, and as I said, we did have it last time. In fact, they even mended a tear in one of my dresses. 🥰

I used this thread as we prepared for our 10 Total Eclipse of the Sun cruise. I wanted to come back and pay it forward.  We are on the Discovery Princess in a sky suite now.
    ‘Answers to @Ehgquestions below

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. No. Beer, sodas, Evian waters are replenished daily as much s you want.  The nespresso is there and Sabatini’s gives you specialty coffees ‘’and bubbly.  We got full sized bottles of Woodford reserve and Bombay Sapphire. We had a full bottle of sparkling wine at sail away.  Ivan, our SEM, has gifted us 2 bottles of Silver Oak Cabernet. There’s Premier level wines and alcohol in the Concierge lounge daily. The only reason you might want a drinks package is if you want to sit in a bar and drink a majority of the time. But really when you have this balcony why would you?

    1. How far in advance should we expect to hear from the shorside coordinator?

    2. Do you still get to select a movie for Movies Under the Stars? If so, is there a list you pick from or is it literally any option (as long as it's appropriate to show)?

    3. Will shoreside coordinator take care of booking 360 and specialty dining?

    4. For the full sized alcohol bottles has anything changed as far as options go (the list Isaw in this thread was from a couple years ago)?

    @flhokie

    1. 3 weeks

    2. No

    3. Yes

    4. I don’t remember what all the choices were.  There was a very comprehensive list.

Our experience has been nothing short of extraordinary.  Thor did a great job of

    1. getting specialty dining set up,

2 he combined our 2 complementary 360 dinners from the 3 day sailing prior (we were in a PH) with the 2 complementary 360 dinners for the eclipse 10 day so we could invite two guests free of charge.
3 he added a fifth seat at our 360 table that will be charged

4 he got clearance from the ship to have an UBD for12

5 he arranged for Ivan to meet us on shore and escort us onboard when we boarded for the 3 day in a PH so technically a perk we weren’t eligible for.

Thor, in general,  was a wonderful resource.

This is very helpful. I think you missed my question about included laundry. It was definitely included last time but I noticed it was not on the list of benefits for SS although it was for other suites, which I thought must be a mistake….?

So glad I found this thread! We just booked the Sky Suite on Enchanted for this June to celebrate my mom's 80th, my 50th and my daughter's 13th birthdays (all this year). A few questions....

Morning, @flhokie, I’ve checked my emails and discovered that Thor contacted us a month prior to sailing.
I can also answer one more of your questions and that is about speciality dining. Yes, he/she will make any bookings for this as well as for the spa etc.

    Hope this helps. 😊

Although I’ve stayed in the Sky suite, it was 2022 so I’m interested in the answers to your questions as well as my own.
We didn’t actually choose a movie when we were on, but we tried to watch Casino Royale and the sound was really distorted. Don’t know if others have found the same, or if it was my ears….😬

If I remember correctly we heard from Thor (shoreside concierge) about 3 weeks before the sailing.

Just curious if anyone has sailed in the Sky Suite as a couple and not 4 people.  It sounds like a wonderful experience, but feel a bit weird being in a 2 bedroom suite with just 2 people.

Yes, we have and we are again in September.
it was marvellous having the second bedroom as I had the whole master dressing room and bathroom all to myself and my husband had the other one! 😃

Plus, we sailed to Norway in June and other second bedroom was darker than the master so my husband would often sleep in there as he didn’t have an eye mask.
That is one criticism of the suite. The curtains are not the best quality and barely reach across the window, so do take an eye mask if you’re cruising in Northern Europe in summer.

Hey Ehg - how was your final review of the Sky Suite? If I'm not mistaken, your friends upgraded to it and then you and your party did, too! I hope you had a lovely time. Our cruise in the Sky Suite is coming up. I'm excited.

I'm only a bit nervous for my parents,. They are in their 80's. I just want to make sure they can get around okay. They both can walk but my dad is slowing down. I am hoping the SEM will help us arrange for golf cart transportation from the pier to the bungalow as it would be too far of a walk for my dad.

I’m so sorry, Shythom, I’ve only just seen this.
We had a wonderful time in the Sky Suite. The reason I’m back in this thread is that we loved it so much, we’re going again in September.
I notice there have been a few changes in the benefits and wanted to check with someone who has sailed in a Sky Suite more recently if these changes have changed the experience?

    My questions are:

Is WiFi included if you’ve not got a drinks package?

Is the Dyson hairdryer still in the suite?

    Is laundry included?

Do you think a drinks package is required?

    Thank you. 😊

We sale on Dec 23 - in a Sky Suite on Discovery.  Does anyone recall the type of pods  the Nespresso machine in these 2 suites - Origional pods or the new larger style Verturo?   Medallion's - is there a color dedicated to the Sky Suites.  Finally (For Today), I understand from reading variuous posts - outside the doors to the cabin, the screen has the names of the occupants?  It it possible not to have this visabloe.or 1st names only?   Thank you.....  David

    Large pods.
    Medallion is white.
When we sailed last year occupants names were displayed outside. Looks as though this might have changed.

Thank you.  I'll print up some copies of a recipe that the bartender on Millennium gave me and bring that with me.

I am not big on martini's but do enjoy a nice cucumber martini from time to time.  I like my coffee with Bailey's.

Are the cocktails better in the Top Sail Lounge or the One Bar?  Maybe I should start looking at reviews of the other bars about the ship?

We only had cocktails in the YC restaurant (espresso martinis and Irish coffee) and I had the dirty banana and pina colada on the YC pool deck.

I bet there are bars that do good cocktails. 🤞🏼

@Ehg Thank you. You’ve given me a lot to think about.
Now along with the concern about the bed, I am worried about the cocktails.  There are a number I prefer, such as rum old fashion & spicy margarita, and they need to be made well.

We are not big cocktail drinkers, but I do enjoy the odd one.
the ones we had were espresso martinis (very bad), Irish coffee (bad), and dirty banana (nowhere near as good as Princess’), I had an ok pina colada.
However, I witnessed a gentleman giving a recipe to the bartender on the top deck and he happily prepared it for him. Perhaps they would just need instruction and then it would be ok? They are such a superb crew. 😊

Thank you.   Hopefully a lot of feedback on this issue is being given to MSC and they will address it.  We have not run into this issue in a few years on other cruise lines.

Agree. We were so surprised. A royal suite with a small, unsatisfactory bed, poor hanging space. The rest was exceptional. Fantastic balcony, wonderful staff, great food, super Wi-Fi, superb black-out curtains, no hard-sell at all in spa, delicious nibbles in top sail lounge, the hottest toast ever on a ship, best perk ever was reserved cabana for the entire cruise, brilliant, and we used it every day, BUT rubbish bed, crap hanging space, small shower, and bad cocktails (that we experienced). The pros certainly outweighed the cons, but the bed issue may stop us booking again….

Do the beds in the YC staterooms have the dip in the middle where the two mattresses join? We both hate it when we get a bed that does that.

YES!! We’ve just got back from our first MSC Virtuosa cruise. We were in the Royal Suite in YC. The bed was the smallest we have experienced on a ship and did not zip up so the only thing holding it together was the mattress topper. Our steward ingeniously tied sheets around the mattress to hold it more firmly which just about worked. 😏

  17. It doesn’t seem that you get any prior notice of what the theme nights will be. We will be on Virtuosa out of Southampton, if anyone has recently sailed on that ship and can tell me what we might expect? 😊

  18. Hi 👋🏻

We are going on our first MSC cruise in a couple of weeks. I see we should have some theme nights during our 15 night cruise. My question is, will we be told what these are going to be before we embark?

I'm pretty sure one will be a “white night” and that is easy enough to pack for, but others have said they have had 70s/ABBA night.

It’d be good to know before so we can pack appropriately.

If we are told, will it appear on the app at some point?

    Thanks in advance

A few months ago we had Pommery in YC on Virtuosa as the didn’t have any NF It was great! 🍾

Wow! If that’s the case maybe I’ll only drink champagne too! 🥂🍾😃

  20. Thank you, that’s really helpful. We’re sailing from Southampton, UK on Virtuosa, if there’s anyone who knows which brand might be offered on this ship and itinerary…🤞🏼😃

Agreed. We changed our minds on pillows, sodas, etc, once on board, and the butler had it handled in less than an hour.  We liked that the butler sat us down the first day and explained all that he could do for us, a big help, as it was our first grand suite.

Thank you all for the replies. This is very exciting. We have had aft suites on many ships and so expect the docking vibrations. No problem.

We switched from 1201 to the aft exactly because we were concerned about wind and potentially not having access to the balcony while sailing. Plus love the larger balcony (appreciate the forward suites have a very large balcony too) and knowing we can use the whole time.

We aren’t high maintenance so the form we have submitted will be fine, I was more wondering whether they arrange embarkation times etc. Celebrity contact prior for alcohol and any special requests, Princess Sky suites contact prior for the same plus embarkation information, so I was curious if Regent did too.

We are so looking forward to our first Regent cruise. 😬
