  1. I saw online that all the Dam ships are on a faster service now and HAL is saying customers are happy with it. I'm glad to see that confirmed!
  2. I'm a huge fan of checking luggage and taking on only the minimum. I like being able to move around the terminal easily. And I love not fighting for space in the overhead bins. But I can see using gate check if I had an extra bag of souvenirs!
  3. I did not add my KLM number at Flight Ease. I will look and see about that. The person I spoke to at Flight Ease told me I would have to contact KLM directly to get any point with Flying Blue for the flight. I will probably wait and see if I can do that at the airport.
  4. I want to give an update to anyone who wondered or who might stumble across this looking for information. After several attempts to log in at KLM I called Flight Ease again. The very helpful person I got was able to check my reservation at the KLM website - they did it without logging in first. When I check the reservation anonymously, rather than under my Flying Blue account, I can see it. And it is a Premium Comfort reservation with better seats and checked baggage included. So that part of our reservation did work. As to the return flight.......
  5. I had to contact my PCC today and exchanged several emails with her as she helped me out. She's usually a straight-forward, no-nonsense person so I was surprised that her first reply to me started with "Thank you for your message!" and ended with "I look forward to hearing from you!" I'm pretty sure in all the years I've been working with her she has never used an exclamation point before. Then I saw message number two began and ended the same way, as did message number three. Is this a new corporate requirement?
  6. We had the same notice before our cruise last fall and it did update to include two dressy nights. I can't remember how far in advance it was.
  7. We never remind them and it's always covered. On our last cruise we were presented with a bill at the end so we could add any additional tip. The service was terrific so we were happy to get that.
  8. I did create a Flying Blue account and used the code provided for the flight, not my HAL booking #. But it was a no go. I expect I could get it settled with another long wait on hold but I just don't have the patience today!
  9. I have to say this is one bonus that won't sway my decision to make a booking in the future.
  10. I cannot look at anything in terms of options - it just lets me see what I've already booked.
  11. I tried going to KLM to see if I could view the ticket from their end but the booking number Flight Ease has given me doesn't work. Which doesn't make me feel better!
  12. My situation was a bit different but with some of the same issues. "The system" wouldn't show me the non-stop flights I wanted because they weren't combinable. As long as I hade both legs visible it wanted to force me to use an airline that could serve me on all flights, even though that meant flying several extra legs. I put "the system" in quotes because the person I spoke to on the phone at Flight Ease said that what she can see is the same as what I can see - according to her they don't have anymore flexibility in choosing flights than we do. She kept telling me "the system" can't do that......
  13. I did ask for a supervisor and was told no. I don't think we're losing much money - the flight home is pretty cheap and the booking is easy. And it's way more important to me to do the non-stop than it is to get the credit. But I wish I had known beforehand. I hate when they create a rule they don't explain to you.
  14. I keep hoping they will do the HAL gift cards as one of their daily specials. So far, no luck 🙃
  15. Well I have a whole other thread about the loss of our return flight but if I cut that part out.... it looks like I'm saving about $500. Of course that's the half of the flight credit we got so it may not be any savings at all. It's very, very hard to tell. And we chose the flexible rate which Flight Ease tells us can go up in price before we pay so I'm not sure where we'll end up.
  16. Since nothing in any of the information about how to use Flight Ease describes this and the system, I am told, won't help you once you've made the mistake, I offer this information to all of you in the hope you won't make the error I did. Flight Ease allows you to book round trip or departure or return. BUT what they don't tell you is that if you choose to book just half of your trip you cannot then book the other half. You can make one booking and one booking only and to fix your mistake you have to cancel the first booking and start all over again - at a likely increased price. We are doing a transatlantic and when viewing our options we found that the flight we wish to take over to Amsterdam doesn't appear among the choices for round trip options. And the flight we want home from Fort Lauderdale doesn't either. The two airlines we want (both offering us non-stop flights) don't mix and match. It seemed obvious to us that we should book the legs separately. But once the flight to Amsterdam was in "the system" I had no ability to add the return leg. I called Flight Ease and was told what I want to do isn't allowed. Either I cancel the flight I booked (which I was told had gone up in price several hundred dollars overnight) and rebook all new flights, or I stay where I am with no Flight Ease on the return. And yes, that means I lose that half of my flight credit. I told the woman on the phone I thought it would be nice if they added this important information to their website, but I doubt very much that they will. So I pass it on to all of you.
  17. Just to circle back, I did call Flight Ease and, after insistently asking multiple times, was able to get the person on the phone to describe all of the benefits I would be getting with the "premium economy" which perfectly over lap with "premium comfort" at KLM. So I was able to confirm what the ticket represents.
  18. As it happens, Premium Comfort is what I hope I'm getting on our KLM flight. I used the method @IAcruising suggested and compared the prices between the sites. I may call Flight Ease to confirm.
  19. I didn't try today! But I wasn't sure if they had the information either. Often it seems the "price" of a discount is losing control over things you might rather pay to be sure of.
  20. Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if there is a way on Flight Ease to see which benefits any particular airline has? I know when I book at the airline's website I can see exactly what each pricing level means - better seats, legroom, food etc. But I can't seem to see that on Flight Ease. I'm just trusting that the higher level actually means something.
  21. This is my first time using Flight Ease and I'm stumbling a bit trying to understand how the ticket level options, such as economy, premium economy, etc., work. Can anyone help? I apologize if this has been covered before. I can see a clear price difference between the flexible and restricted fares. That's clear. I do see some cost differences when I adjust the ticket from, for instance, economy to premium economy, but I cannot see any information as to what that means in terms of the benefits I get on the ticket. For instance, I know some higher ticket categories include baggage. But when I change the category on Flight Ease the baggage information doesn't change, in that it still just sends me to the airline website. The terms Flight Ease uses don't equal the terms the airlines use so I don't know exactly what category ticket I'm actually reserving. Is there a way to see this information prior to booking? Would I be better off to call Flight Ease at the 800 number? As I said, I have always booked our flights independently before and have no experience with this system. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
