... as in too formal or too elitist or food too upscale or too very matter of fact one of the best restaurants on S Class Ships?

    bon appetit and bon voyage

We didn’t think it was too formal , elitist or to anything. The main issue we had was with the waiter, we felt like he talked down to us and seemed more interested in the larger group near us. When he brought the chateaubriand for two he lifted the lid of the serving plate like a magician unveiling one of his greatest tricks. We just thought it was over the top for the meal we had. Most here will disagree it seems, but that was our experience, we will stay with Tuscan and the Lawn club.

We had been booked for the Baltics with Celebrity for August of this year but cancelled aka Attempt #6.  LOL  We chose HAL because it overnights in St. Petersburg and Stockholm.  We also wanted to be sure that we would be cruising the archipelago and HAL was the only one that openly stated that.  But, no matter which cruise line you choose,  its going to be amazing.  Which tour company are you using for St. Petersburg?  We're going with Alla's Grand Two Day plus the evening at Faberge.

We’re with TJ tours one of the couples we are going with used them before and highly recommended them. We also overnight in St Petersburg so it’s a two day tour.

  3. Hi everyone I just discovered this Canadian forum, it’s a nice addition to CC. I usually spend my time on the Celebrity forum , witch is predominantly U.S.,  and I sometimes think that they would like it that way. We have a cruise booked for the Baltic in  May 2022. with a group that we met in 2019 on our Med cruise . Glad that I found you guys!

While I agree that it is questionable whether there will be cruising in 2021, why throw in the towel now.  Canada(which is where I live) made a unilateral decision to in essence cancel cruising to Alaska.   I thought that I would see more collaboration between Canada and the US on issues.  Why not have discussions between Canada and the US around cruising and come up with a joint release regarding Alaska(and the east coast as well).

We have not seen either the US or Europe cancel cruising until 2022.  Europe is looking for ways to open.  Not sure about the US, but am guessing they are as well.

I have cancelled a number of trips, cancelled as well.   We have all made sacrifices over the last year due to the pandemic.   It should be a last resort to cancel cruising once it has been determined there are no other ways of making cruising work.  It appears to me that this is some bureaucratic response to an issue they dont want to spend any time trying to come up with a solution.

Sorry about the rant, but this makes me so mad that the government is not trying to find solutions to problems, without having to shut everything down.  I understand, and agree for the most part, with the decisions made to date.  However, we do have vaccines coming and we need to open up.

While travelling is a leisure activity to me, it is a business for many people.  I don't have to travel.  However, many people in the business are going to lose everything that have  if we do not open up.  We can not forget about those people, whose livelihoods are based on tourism.  How sad it is for them.

Do you really think that the people who live in ports that ships visit  want cruise ships to dock this year!

Who says masking and social distancing don't work? Anti-maskers and poor leadership is why the U.S. has failed to control the virus, but see how Australia and New Zealand are doing.

And as far as Dr. Bonnie Henry is concerned: "A viral list of COVID-19 pandemic advice  attributed to British Columbia chief medical officer Dr. Bonnie Henry is not only fake, it’s dangerously inaccurate."

How would someone from Tennessee have any first hand knowledge of what Dr. Henry is saying or doing to get B.C. through the pandemic. Everyone would be doing a lot better if they had someone like her.

The post states there were over 500 new cases in BC.   Are you saying this post was false?

That would be a report over the weekend Friday ,Saturday, and Sunday numbers added together.
