  1. I'm always conflicted when deciding upon which tour to pick especially when there are rave reviews about each.

To start - I'm not a big fan of island tours but our last experience with the ATV tour in St Kitts was not promising so I want to make sure what I pick is going to be enjoyable for my daughter (age 10).

It seems the general description of the Grand Tour and the Island Tour of both vendors is very similar.   I know there are mentions of the Royston being a bit more rustic (which I don't care about).   Honestly, I just want a good time where we aren't sitting in a van all day and rarely getting off.

Any insight on what might be best and why you prefer one to the other would be great!

  2. Cosol has the Full Day St. Lucia Tour while Spencer Ambroise has the Spencer's Land, Sea & Beach Adventure tour.

Both seems to be almost exactly the same itinerary.  Could someone enlighten me to what might be different between the 2 tours and which would be better?

I hear great things about both tours so I don't think I could go wrong either way but I'm always good to know the differences.

  3. I have been looking at this location as well. I found most information via the facebook page.

    Details:

Copa day pass is 25 dollars a person w/umbrella and includes food credits

    Optional things to do:

    Turtle tour $15 a person

    Tarzan boat $15 a person

  4. Classic

You have a potato chip phobia and rather than talking with your room steward about your fears, you flame the spud on cruise critic.

Then a kind bartender allows an over price drink to slide by, rather than saying “thank you”, flaming away again when the next bartender charges you correctly.

We have been in the GA and sister NCL mega ships 16 times (soon to be 18) and have rarely had a problem getting a drink within a minute or two. We are smart enough to look at a bar, it is busy, walk 30 seconds down to the next bar. We don’t look for and stand in the longest line and then complain about it.

  5. Would you recommend this for kids? I'm struggling for something fun and different to do with my 9 yr old.

We have been to Cozumel many times and have done it all from horse back riding to chillin at Mr. Sanchos (our favorite)...but we just got back 2 weeks ago and had the most fabulous tour in Cozumel!

    We did TrikesCozumel

    http://www.trikes-tours.com/

We have done the trikes in St. Maarten (6 days before it was blown away) and Aruba; but Cozumel was the absolute best.

We rode along the beach around the whole island. We stopped several places for photos. Stopped by the ocean and had THE best mojito you could ever imagine (all hand done, no blenders) $6.

Included was a Tequila distillery "tour" and tasting. Then they served us an amazing fajita lunch. Drinks were on your own; but reasonable.

I think they would have kept touring us had we not told them it was time to get back to the ship!

They furnish bandanas and helmets. All new equipment. They take time to get you introduced and comfortable riding the trike.

Trikes are automatic (car engines) and brand new. My husband (we are in our 60's) drove and I rode on the double wide back seat. (2 can ride). There were only 2 couples on our tour and we had NO complaints. We had 2 guides who led us in a VW Beetle; 1 hanging out the window taking pictures! They post all these pictures on their FB page and you can download any of them for free.

So glad we did the 3rd island with them. I have recommended them so many times that there won't be many more months of "just 1 or 2" on the tour!;)

    Check it out!

btw...I am just enthusiastic because this is something new and unique for us that we totally enjoyed...I am in no way affiliated with them! :)

  6. I personally would not bring my daughter (9) to Nachi. It is a great adult place but not really geared towards kids. Adults really drink it up here and the amount of water toys and activities is limited.

  7. Beer choices are very limited unfortunately. From what I have seen this is the list of commonly found beer onboard.

  8. Thanks everyone. I did call NCL special services already but the buffet is always an area where I never quite know how to manage. I have a peanut allergy. If it cooked and airborne I even get a reaction.

I wasn't aware that they would get you a fresh dish of something in the buffet. I'm so happy to know this!!

I bring 7 epipens and 100 benadryl tablets to remedy anything myself.

  9. I've been a bunch of cruises with various lines and ships and I know having a food allergy prevents from me eating a lot of places.. usually buffets are my biggest no no.

Could someone tell me how things are stationed at the buffet? I know this a weird request but for example - RC Oasis of Sea, the buffet was open with foods in circular stations. Carnival - all ships, they have separate zones for sandwiches, pizza, desserts. I never had a reaction with Carnival but had a very bad one with RC.

My daughter hates to eat in MDR for every meal so I'm hoping I can figure out where are my best food location options.

  10. I have been searching around the boards and various reviews. It seems like a private car tour in Cozumel might be the best idea for us. I'm going to use Tour Plaza or Black Hat but I'm more concerned on best places to stop...

My daughter is 9 so I'm looking for fun stops for her so far I thought maybe hte following:

    1. Lighthouse and croc lagoon (punta sur)

    2. chocolate factory

    3. small ruin site (san gervasio)

    4. el mirador

are these good spots? what else?

  11. I have done the ferry before and watched people vomiting non-stop on the ride to playa de carmen. My fiance cannot see someone vomit, he actually will start vomiting profusely. (it's pretty funny to me but not for others around!)..

Anyone recommend something that doesn't require they ferry ride. I have a 9 yr old daughter so shopping and drinking isn't an option.

  12. I'm always a late arrival on the ship but this year we are getting on early.

If your carry on stuff includes soda and wine, do they let you leave it in your room even if isn't ready? Do you have carry it around until your room is ready?

    Needs tips/info

  13. So I have read about excursions to Renaissance island(a day pass) and there is a reference to Flamingo Island.

I have seen videos posted about the island but then I read somewhere it is topless and adult only. Is that true?
