  1. Port Canaveral has no less than 6 very good, safe off-port parking lots (with shuttles)! You can hardly go wrong with any of them and will find many positive reviews as well as the occasional complaint!

The new kids on the block are portparkingspace and Port Canaveral Parking  - both with tarmac spots and shaded options. This map shows portparkingspace is closest and really nice but since Carnival docks on the other side of the Port (5 or 6), GoPort, Port Canaveral Parking and Park 'n Cruise are in the direction of Orlando.

  2. I agree with John. There are many transportation options available for you. This is certainly one of the very last things I would book in this upside down cruise world  Who knows which transportation companies will still stand by next year?

To give you an idea, here is a comparison table of a dozen or so solid SHARED SHUTTLE companies I've seen at the Port dropping passengers.

To link to the websites of any of these companies, please go here - Top Shuttle Companies to Port Canaveral.

We've never cruised from Port Canaveral.  Do any of these properties offer cruise port views?  Are they walking distance of restaurants and shopping?

Holiday Inn Club offers the best views of the harbor channel (and later this year Terminal 3 will be right in front of the hotel).

You can aso see the ships in the distance from the top floors of some rooms at Homewood Suites and Country Inn

What is the name of the restaurant next door?  I would like to review their menu to see if it is a good option for our group of 12 and make some reservations.  Thank you.

The restaurants nearby are on this map: Zarellas, Zachary's, Kelsey's, Preacher Bar and Thai Thai

Weird,  when I put in the Budget car rental code for the cruise terminal location,  the price is HALF what it is for the MIA location.  If I'm readying the previous posts correctly,  both locations are actually at Miami Intern. Airport?   Am I correct?

No, you are mixing up the companies!!

Take a look at the image below - it shows the company locations with free Port shuttles.

  6. I recommend you take the tour.

You travel a different route to the KSC and avoid the general entrance lines and lines for the standard bus tour (included in standard admission). This will save a lot of time. You may also get to see a bit more of the active launch areas than the standard tour (your route depends on the actual rocket launch activity on the day of your tour - some areas are closed to the public during those times).

You may also get to stay a bit longer (for some tours the KSC offer extra time to watch the IMAX films, etc).

Thanks -- I'm interested to see them.  we have lots of cruises booked out of Port C.  This is great that there are so many new hotels being built.

As promised! I took these pics yesterday:

Saw on Hilton Honors website that they are opening a new Home2 Suites and a new Hampton on Cape Canaveral (looks like they are adjacent to the Homewood Suites.  You are showing a Spring Hill suites in Cape Canaveral -- is this being built.

Do you know when any of these hotels will be opening?

I need to go take latest pictures today of these new hotels - rumor has it the Sringhill Suites are opening in April this year.

I know this has been discussed in other posts, but I thought the last updated information stated that Avis/Budget have no shuttle to airport, Alamo/National/Enterprise does have a shared shuttle and Dollar/Thrifty also have a shared shuttle.    However, I just tried to book Thrifty, and it says under shuttle that cruisers must pick PM4 location, 3900 NW 25th St.    So I'm wondering if that means they no longer have a shuttle to the airport.   Does anyone have recent experience with car rental shuttles from Port of Miami to airport?    I will try to call, but it sometimes can be difficult to actually get the local office and not transferred to the main reservation center, and they don't always have good information.

That's been the case for a long time. Those codes are just to tell the rental company they need to have a shuttle ready for you (airport to port and back).

Alamo, Enterprise, National, Dollar and Thrifty rental car offices are located in the same building! Once you return the vehicle, you will be directed to their Port of Miami Shuttle van just outside the door. Sometimes the wait can be as long as 45 minutes depending on traffic.

Customers needing shuttle service to the Port of Miami must book the Miami Cruise Ship location (National – MIA/Dollar – MIAP01/Thrifty – PM4), as the return location and return the vehicle to the Alamo, Enterprise, National, Dollar or Thrifty rental counter at 3900 NW 25th Street (Miami Airport location) .
