Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks all! We booked the Celebration last night. Only 389 days to go!
  2. Looking to book a Cruise over Christmas next year on either the Celebration or the Jubilee. I'm leaning towards the Celebration because Miami is typically easier/cheaper to fly to from Ohio, and the cruise is a couple hundred cheaper. The itinerary is exactly the same. The only reason I see to book the Jubilee is because it's a newer ship, but essentially the same as the Celebration The only Carnival cruise i've been on is the Mardi Gras in March of this year.
  3. Trying to figure out the stateroom configuration for four on the prima. I really need 3 beds (queen/two twins) for our family. Do they have anything like this on the Prima? We sailed the carnival Mardi Gras and it had a bed that dropped down from the ceiling. I’m trying to avoid getting two staterooms.
  4. I don’t have anything booked for ‘23 yet. Just wondering if there is any shot, or I should just book a ‘24 for cheaper.
  5. Can you ever get a deal on a cruise over Christmas after the paid in full date, or is earlier always better?
  6. What is the largest ship that sails to Venice? I read that the largest aren't allowed to dock there. I've only sailed on the larger cruise ships, with the exception of Disney Wonder/Magic, so I'm a little hesitant to trying a smaller (older) ship.
  7. Do the available items in the MDR show up on the specialty dining menus?
  8. I read somewhere that you could order anything on the MDR menu in ChiBang, Cucina, and Pig & Anchor. If you do this can you get one entree from the MDR and one from the specialty restaurant? Can you mix and match as many appetizers/desserts as you want? Do they provide a MDR menu, or do you have to know what's on the menu by other means (is it in the app?)
  9. Are there any good self guided walking tours anyone has done? Looking to go to the forts at a minimum. Links?
  10. So does your arrival time not matter when you have FTTF? I've read several things and this is the one detail I'm still confused about. If i choose a noon arrival time, and get there at 10, can i still get checked in at the port? I have FTTF for my first Carnival Cruise on the Mardi Gras and am checking in next Sat.
  11. What’s the process of liquidating in the casino?
  12. So can I just put a 500 gift card for my payment method during checkin? Can I liquidate the gift card through the casino? I’m just trying to save 10%.
  13. Are all the staterooms open and you just drop your luggage off? Or is there another process?
  14. Sailing on the Mardi Gras at the end of March. We are flying in two days early, renting a car from National at MCO and returning at the port. On the way back, I currently have a Budget car reserved, but am trying to decide if it would just be easier to take the Carnival shuttle back to MCO (It would only be about $25 more). My flight leaves at 3:35 so my original thinking was that if I rented a car then we could get lunch somewhere in Orlando before heading to the airport, so we didn't have to wait there all day. It's been several years since I've been to PC and IIRC picking up the rental car for the trip back was a long process. I also think we had a later flight. Any suggestions?
