I'm curious about that too. Have $400 in OBC for an upcoming cruise.

One I'm surprised I haven't heard more of is the line at kids clubs.
I picked a more port intensive cruise for our next 2 so I don't have to tell my kids - sorry they're closed. They were not happy when they wanted to go to the club and it was closed.

What sailing?

Nickel & Dimed kills me as well. The funny thing is, the other boards use it too - DCL particularly. Funny thing is, I felt no more nickel & dimed on NCL vs DCL - DCL charged for specialty restaurant, for Bingo cards, for the spa/spa pass, for excursions, for tips. The drinks on DCL were a rip off, and it's not like service was better. So I never really understood where the phrase came from. It's not like you get on board and everything is charged for.

Move from non Haven to Haven 2 bedroom suite for Jade Tampa 7 day was priced at $1250 pp = $2500. :0.
I think part of the extrme difference is related to the amazing discount we got on this room - we booked a family suite on the a Star back in March 2015 and were switched to the 2 bedroom suite on Jade, so paid about $2500 less than the list price compared to the Jade at that time. But no way am I paying $2500 to get into haven when we already have a suite.

They wanted $1250 pp to move from 2 bedroom suite to 2 bedroom Haven suite on Jade 11/20 sailing. The current price difference online is $700. Yeahhhhhhhh No. That's insane.
-
We are also in a 2 bedroom suite for an upcoming Jade cruise. I'll price out the Haven, but would move more for location (to be closer to Cagney's / kids club) than anything else. Likely wouldn't pay more than $200 pp for it.

Oh, I found suite service above that of standard DCL service.

My younger kids are the same age as yours. We did our first NCL cruise last year after doing only Disney. Dh has also done Princess and Royal and Celebrity with his older kids.
NCL is much more piecemeal. I do love love love the specialty restaurants over Disney and adore the suite amenities. For the price on an inside room on Disney I can get a suite on NCL.
Part of it is they have aged out of the Disney characters. If they want that we do a Disney trip instead. They also very much enjoyed the kids club - it's not the drop off all day experience, but is still a lot of fun.

I'm curious on the above too.

Not in the bidding process (on the jade in late November) but called the upswell department today. They are "behind" so not offering any up sells at this point. She asked me to call back later this week.

Disney has no rooms that sleep 6 like the NCL two bedroom suites. Not to mention, when we did last sail Disney in 2 balcony rooms, the kids did not have fun - they have aged out of it. Even my littlest (age 7) feels that Disney is for smaller kids. Plus the specially restaurants at Disney were not as good as NCL. Palo for breakfast / brunch is no where near as good as Cagney's breakfast. Cagney's and Le Bistro at dinner are much better than the Disney equivalents.

I'm sure I'll catch flack for saying this, but the same thought crosses my mind every time I see the Haven prices.
No flack, but we are in the group with little kids that very much enjoy the peace and relaxation that come with the Suite Life/Haven. No way would I ever take my kids on a luxury liner - it may be great for us but definitely not our kids. We only get to vacation on strict schedules, but thankfully we have a generous travel budget and get lots of travel points from our work travels. Haven allows us to maximize our vacation time. Sure, I'd love to do 2 weeks (or even 3!) at the price of one Haven week, but that's not an option for where we are in our life right now.

This is the only part that seems really strange, rude and unnecessary to me. Why in the world would they need to move you all into a hallway out of site? Kind of odd.... Why did they even let people line up an hour early then if they were going to move you to a hallway?
My bet is the crew member thought they weren't supposed to be in there's or needed the space - usually crew assumes people will get there 20-30 minutes early and set up accordingly- they got there earlier and the line/ whatever else wasn't set up yet. So crew asked them to move. .
Op, I really don't see why you're so upset. Haven guests paid more for the privilege of being front of the line. You deemed that perk unnecessary when you purchased your cabin, but then complain when others paid for it and used it.

We did this recently for our cruise on the Jade. I asked to move our room a little further forward so we wouldn't be under the pool deck. Person on the phone made the switch super fast and I got an email with an updated cabin #.

I like the schedule, it forces my kids to leave the club and hang out with us old fogies haha. I do wish they'd speed up the checkin / out process. OMG I think the staff in the kids club are the slowest on the ship. It should not take 3 minutes to write in a kids name. 3 minutes x 20 kids = a stupidly long line. The line is not very freestyle.

hI miss that Guy.I last saw him years back on Spirit. :)
.
He was amazing! "Let me add my baby trees". He called my dh Mr abbyar all week bc I always ordered our drinks while dh dropped kids at the club. Loved him.

Has anyone seen Jomar the bartender recently? He was in the Moderno bar on the Gem last summer.
Curious as to who is in the Jade now. But I expect that can change right before/after the repo.
-
I'd also be curious as to if someone complained about their butler and either got w new one or service improved. If my butler refused room service I may just have a temper tantrum right there.

The Clevelander is a fun outdoor bar that isn't generally as much as a club feel as some other places. Bonus: since it's right on the beach it's reasonably populated earlier at night (8-10 pm) whereas the nightclubs generally don't get busy until after 10 pm.
For a late night snack check out Cafe News (news Cafe?) a few blocks down from the Clevelander. They have yummy food late at night - kind of like a diner on the beach. My favorite place for a post-cruise meal.
-
Thanks much for the information! I for one am not overly concerned either way, more glad to know what to expect.

September sailings are pretty typical for discounts. Same reason why Disney offers free dining this time of year - to fill vacant rooms. This is low season.

Definitely yes!!

Nvm, clearly I need more coffee.
