  1. Have you been in souvenir stores in Mexico and the Caribbean? And, yeah, that display does not strike me as "art" unless 4 year olds made them.
  2. If they reside at the same address. The OP said "travel partner" but didn't state anything else about their relationship, except that they're "not married".
  3. While those islands are, the route to get there isn't.
  4. We've cruised in Oct and Nov many times (hurricane season ends 30 Nov) and have never encountered a hurricane. BTW, hurricane season is 6 full months of the year (1 Jun-30 Nov) but it occasionally impacts cruises. Itineraries can be impacted, but you can't worry about it.
  5. Pretty sure this has more to do with the op not knowing/reading what the policy actually covers. If it's spelled out in the policy, then the co is not trying to "squirm out of paying". They're honoring the actual policy. It's as the headline says, "buyer beware" but as in be aware of what you're buying. We had a claim against the policy we buy through Royal almost 3 years ago. I had an accident and was injured and had surgery. My OS said that I could not travel. Cruise insurance reimbursed us everything that Royal did not. Our travel expenses (Amtrak) weren't on the policy, but we canceled and had used points which we got back. Our hotel was also canceled by us at no cost. You have to know what you are buying and why.
  6. Had you read the policy? Aren't there different levels of coverage you can buy?
  7. You can also access them by clicking on your boarding pass on the website. Just below the link to the boarding pass will be the luggage tags.
  8. Isn't it more common to not sail at 100% on European sailings anyway? Ships out of Baltimore have always sold out (prior to Covid) and currently our Bermuda sailing on EN hasn't had balcony or suites available for a while and not many inside or OV left. NJ is the same way usually.
  9. Ours gave us $12/test, which I think is the minimum lol.
  10. Also, according to Tony (La Lido Loca on YT) the CDC is re-evaluating pre-cruise testing.
  11. A theory is something that isn't proven so it is a theory. I never said anything about vaccines, masking or testing not "working". What I said was there is no way to prove that pre-cruise testing makes any difference. TA's have no clue about how many people are denied boarding except for their own clients. Our TA's are good friends and they have no inside information. And, as I said previously, testing will be going away.
  12. You can't tell me airlines had lower positives pre-boarding than cruise ships yet they aren't testing them anymore. Also, you just have a theory in your mind that pre-cruise testing cuts down on cases. That is a theory that has never been proven. Not to mention, for every person that tests positive, how many don't that would a day or two later? Too many variables to state that pre-cruise testing makes any difference at all.
  13. It's a very short video as in just a couple of minutes long.
  14. We have a very good friend who is a priest that we have known since college. He has very limited funds and time off. He used to take his mother on trips once every year or two (she paid but he was her travel companion). She's gone now so his travel is more restricted as he just doesn't have the income to do it as often.
  15. I was thinking something similar. I'm not even Catholic. DH was raised Catholic but we're non-denominational now.
  16. Most Catholics don't want an interdenominational service.
  17. Well, they are on vacation. There could be several, but they have to want to volunteer. I've only seen services listed on the compass a few times.
  18. Pretty sure you missed my point. Get ready because pre-cruise testing will be going away.
  19. I can't tell if you're being serious or facetious. Cause you know, no one goes ashore when on a cruise.
  20. BTW, no cruise line has approved any power strip or anything that Amazon or anyone else sells. I just take a USB cube that plugs right in. It can handle two USB's plus I have a USB hub that can handle 4 USB's. LOL, I just read the info. It's says approved "for", not approved "by".
  21. Countries are dropping the requirement and letting people in to spread out among their populations so there is absolutely zero reason to keep testing cruisers. Tourist are staying in hotels, eating out, going on excursions with others, etc. Apparently logic completely evades the CDC.
  22. Yes. In fact, starting today we can submit for our 22 July cruise. From everything I've read, that won't be going away anytime soon. They have it figured into their budget until sometime in 2023 at least.
  23. It's what I was hoping for when I posted the story lol. Our upcoming July cruise is to Bermuda. They changed the requirement to provide a negative test for vaxxed individuals on their travel authorization already. I have four tests I will gladly toss in the trash and take a loss on if I don't ever have to use them 🙂
  24. But cruisers did/do have to have a negative test. POINT IS, this is another step towards testing going away. More and more countries are dropping the requirement.
  25. I know this will probably get moved to the ports of call board, but I hadn't seen it posted. I could have missed it, but... https://www.forbes.com/sites/ericawertheimzohar/2022/06/17/its-better-in-the-bahamas-bahamas-removes-travel-health-visa-requirements/?sh=87c4ec92d6d4
