  1. We have friends that we would love to cruise with because we really think we would have a good time together. I'm reluctant to initiate the cruise idea in fear that they may not be cruising people like we are. I understand that there are people out there unlike us who just don't enjoy it. I would hate to encourage someone to take and pay for a vacation they don't enjoy.

  2. I worry very little about cruising in the Caribbean during hurricane season because ships tend to visit alternative ports if need be to avoide the weather. What happens if there is a hurricane or other bad weather in the ships path from Boston to Bermuda? Not many alternatives that I can see. I curious as I'm trying to decide between the Caribbean and Bermuda for an anniversary trip. Our anniversary is in September. Thank you in advance for your input.

  3. I would NEVER do an inside...I HATE electric lights when the sun is out! However, my mother would NEVER book a balcony....she feels she gets the same experience as I would , but for MUCH less money! It all depends what's important to you!

If you're worried about sleeping the day away...turn the TV to the outside view of the ship...turn the sound all the way down...when the sun comes up, it will "light up" your cabin.

Thanks for the great tip to "light up" the room. I will definitely do this!

  4. I'm also new. I'm on a lifelong weight loss journey and not looking for anything than support. No judgement, no guilt, no pressure. I'm looking to lose 40 lbs but not necessarily before my cruise, although that would be nice. I'm just looking for another support system. I can do this and so can you, one bite at a time.

  5. My first and only cruise was in a balcony cabin. Loved loved loved the balcony. My next cruise will be in an inside cabin in order to keep the cost low. I'm keeping an open mind. Maybe I'll end up liking it and maybe I'll hate it. Either way I can't wait to find out. Based on other's reviews and experiences I'm most concerned about it being so dark I end up sleeping my day away and missing my morning coffee on the balcony.

For those who usually cruise inside, why do you cruise inside vs balcony and what do you love about it?

  6. I will not be in bed by 9PM. On my first/honeymoon cruise I was afraid of becoming seasick and took Dramamine (less drowsy) which resulted in me falling asleep by 9:00 for the first 4 nights. I finally stopped taking it and was able to enjoy more awake time without getting seasick. Next time ginger root capsules. Live and learn!

  7. Obviously there is no guarantee with weather. My husband and I took our honeymoon cruise that same week in 2012 out of San Juan. We had PERFECT weather the entire trip. I wouldn't avoid cruising during hurricane season but keep an open mind as an itinerary change is possible. Congratulations and HAVE FUN!

  8. Hubby and I used the less drowsy Dramamine. I can't imagine what the regular Dramamine would be like because we were so sleepy we stopped taking it after day 3. Neither one of us got sick after stopping the Dramamine but we also had really calm weather. I won't do the Dramamine again and I'm thinking about going with ginger root.
