  1. For my cruises in 2015 & 2018, never got tags in the mail.  I was scheduled to be Getaway for the 1/14, which was cancelled on the 11th.  Never received tags for this one, but our reschedule leaving on 2/11, we did get luggage tags.  So weird for two different experiences just a month apart, but hey, saves me ink, so I'm happy I got them.

That's a great idea...  I suppose you'd still want to show up at the pier.  Just not check you luggage.   The reason is you wouldn't get reimbursement or help from NCL otherwise.

My sister and I will on the Jan. 14th cruise with you.  I just ordered tests to bring with us, and planned on us testing before we leave the hotel so we know if an antigen test gives us a positive.  We will be getting a PCR test a couple of days before we leave just for added peace of mind.  When I spoke to someone on the phone at NCL they told me that if we have the negative PCR test within 3-4 days before the cruise, but we test positive at the pier, we will get a FCC.  Without the negative test prior, we wouldn't get anything.  It will be interesting to see what happens at the pier on the 14th.

  3. Back on April 22, 2018, I posted a new roll call for the NCL Epic 12/29/2019 cruise.  Here is the link to the thread:

I just did a "Find Your Roll Call" search at https://www.cruisecritic.com/rollcalls/?cruise_line_id=24&ship_id=481&sailing_date=201912 and a completely new thread (

), started on November 29, 2018 is attached to it.  I'm not sure what the issue is with the original roll call, as this has happened before and the threads were merged.

Can we get these threads merged once again and get the "Find Your Roll Call" fixed??

    Thanks!

  4. Like others, I kept looking to see where you were and was getting quite concerned.  I'm so glad to see you back and that it was nothing more serious than just life getting in the way.  As to Sakari, OMG, she has lost her "child" face and she now have a pre-teen face for sure!  They do grow up way too fast!  So glad I now have this to read in the coming days!  Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!

  5. Good morning all.  I'll try to remember to weigh myself every Thursday, but I didn't this morning as I had a personal training session last night and I'm hurting, so I know I'm retaining water.  And oh joy, I have another session scheduled for tonight.

A little bit about me, I've been doing WW since 1/21/2018, which is the day after I stepped off the NCL Escape.  I am currently down 57 pounds and I'm hoping to hit the 75 pound mark by my next cruise, which is 1/31/2019.

Oh, now if I can't use an app on my iPad, that's going to really suck.

Just add a link to the Forum to your home screen using the browser, just click on the Share icon, then add link to home screen.  You don't need the app to access it on your iPad.

You might already know how to do that, but just incase you don't or someone else reading doesn't know how.

  7. Hello all.  I'm sorry I haven't been back, I completely forget about coming here!  I'm still working my WW program.  I'm down 57 pounds now, so I've made a really nice start, as I'm not even at the midway point yet.  I am hoping I'll be at my midway point when I cruise at the end of January for our little 3 night trip.

I hope you all are having success!

  8. Eight weeks in to the new Freestyle WW program. Down 16 lbs. Hoping for 9 more before my August 30th Cruise. Then to enjoy while not gaining during the 12 day trip!

Those of you who have done well, will you share your secrets?

    Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I would say you are doing fantastic! Your 16 pounds in 8 weeks equals 2 pounds a week. Whatever you are doing is working!

As to my secrets, I try to eat fruits and veggies with every meal. I also make sure I'm having some healthy fat every day and I use all or almost all of my weekly points every single week.

If you are using the WW app, I'm on Connect as deblemmon715.

  9. Since 1/21/2018 (the day after I got off my last cruise), I've lost 30.6 pounds on WW. I love this program! Even though I'm gluten free because of auto-immune diseases, I don't deprive myself like I have done in the past. Instead if I have been craving something, I work it into my plan. I attend meetings, as I find it so helpful to my butt in those green chairs each week. Thanks to this weight loss, I am now able to wear my wedding ring again, even when my RA is flaring up!

  10. Hello all! Fellow WW member here. I joined the day after I got home from my last cruise, so 1/21/2018. While I had a blast on the cruise, I was physically miserable because of my weight and RA. I’ve lost 25 pounds so far, just have another 125 to lose. I’m planning on being at goal for my next cruise, which isn’t until the end of 2019. Personally, I’m loving the new FreeStyle plan, but I know many don’t. I look forward to getting to know you all!

  11. A group of us just booked for the NYE cruise in 2019. One family of 4 is coming from Denver and she looked to see what flights might be using current Southwest fares. She was floored at the price and length of time to get there. Since we all planned on arriving in San Juan on the Friday before our Sunday departure, I told her she should think about flying into Chicago (where the rest of us are) on Thursday night, stay with us, then all of us leave on Friday morning together. From Chicago are plenty of non-stop flights, so she won't have to worry as much about making connections. Luckily, she just opened a Southwest credit card, so now she can start working on getting those points, which will offset her costs.

  12. Escape – January 13-20, Haven – The Outstanding, The Good and the Meh

    ...

Our Room Attendant – Kaydak. He was awesome! Great towel animals, always serviced our room quickly and took excellent care of us.

Well hello neighbor! I do believe you were next door to my husband and I, if you were in the cabin that was on the starboard side, as we were in 12908. I have to agree, Kaydak was wonderful! He made himself know to us immediately, before we even sailed away. I think the location of our rooms was the best!

  13. We were in Falmouth last week and surprisingly, we had a good time. We at first were not going to get off the ship, but then decided to walk around the gated port area. While we did that, we saw they offered an hour trolley tour of Falmouth, so we booked the tour and it was enjoyable. Our tour was followed the entire time by two police officers on bicycles and anytime they got further back, the trolley driver pulled over and let them catch up. One of the tour guides was telling us that a great many of the cruise lines had pulled out of docking in Jamaica because of the crime and complaints from passengers, but then the hurricanes hit and the lines had to look at Jamaica again. So now Jamaica is doing what they can to keep the lines from pulling out again.

  14. I'd use cash for the cruise onboard account and leave your credit card for any purchases you want to make pre-cruise, ports of call and post-cruise. That is what we did when we cruise in 2015, as I prepaid our DSC, so I only had to put down $300 for my husband and I. I came home with a refund of almost half the cash we put down.

  15. As someone who does not LOVE to tender, I’m curious if any of my newly revised ports are tender ports . We are headed to St. Lucia St. Kitts, Martinique and St. Thomas. I know that St. Thomas is not a tender port, can anyone tell me if the others are? Thanks!!

On my cruise in 2015 there were more ships in St. Thomas than there were docks, so our ship had to tender. So it can happen in St. Thomas.
