  1. YOU disagreed with everything everyone said. You opined with rather nonsensical logic. No sir, we are done with YOU.
  2. I was just going to say the same thing you said. Currently no room for another berth. The only way to get more ships to use CL would be to run them on weekdays. The roads in and out are not set up for two ships per day. There also is a very underutilized cruise ship terminal in Brooklyn. I very rarely see that terminal being used.
  3. Economically it does not pay to build and maintain another parking deck when three ships are using the port only a few months of the year. In the winter, only one ship uses CL.
  4. The buildings recently razed are at least 1/3 mile from the terminal. That area is slated for warehouses.
  5. Those two distant lots were the original two lots used when cape liberty first opened. I b Ave no clue why someone wouldn't have dropped their luggage first at the terminal. Crazy long walk to drag luggage. Long history behind all those abandoned buildings
  6. Yes, garage=parking deck. I arrived at about 11:15. I was very surprised that there was relatively no line of cars making the final left into the terminal area. After taking a few photos at the teardrop (20min.), I saw the queue got only slightly longer. One thing about cape liberty, the line moves very fast.
  7. OK, here's my observations. There are three ships currently sailing out of CL. I was there on Sunday (the Summit day) (around 11:15AM) to recon the parking and crowd situation for my upcoming cruise. I saw that the parking deck was open. All cars were parking in the deck. The two "overflow" lots were locked shut. Those lots were packed full. I'd assume those lots were for the Oasis OTS and Adventure OTS. I'd say it will remain this way until one of the ships leave.
  8. The lot past the tent?! That was a long walk back to the terminal. Was a shuttle provided?
  9. Do the taxi's accept credit cards?
  10. Is it possible to just get off the ship and find a guide on the pier? Affordable? Reliable? No rip-off?
  11. Drive to the terminal, drop your luggage and everyone else, follow directions to either the deck or nearby surface lot. Bring ticket. Pay after your cruise (before you get to your car).
  12. The Oasis was the "first in" of the three ships, so most likely, you'll have a spot in the deck. Before the deck was built, acres of lots handled the cars. They use one of these lots as the overflow when two or three ships are using CL. There's plenty of room outside of the deck for parking.
  13. OMG. I so much agree with you. Spend $$$$ on a cruise but save like $20 on a flight into say LaGuardia or park offsite and save $2 per day. We're 30 miles from CL. Used to use car service ($100 plus tip each way) but lately drive to CL. Can't imagine the cost of car service today.
