  1. I think this will work for you. When you give them key cards to "pay" at a restaurant, you really only need one of the cards. So, when my husband and I go, we just use one card, but they charge us for two Specialty Dining. At the end of my last cruise my daughter and I went to the restaurant and the server counted how many we had used and how many were left...they were not actually assigned to my card or my husbands.

  2. I've been collecting sand & soil from all the places we have visited since I was a kid...I have over 40 bottles (sand from the Colosseum in Italy, black sand beaches, etc). Like most people here I take baggies with me from home, I make sure I label them because even though you think you will remember once you get home it is hard. I have them in a golf ball display holder with tiny spice shakers. I label the front with the country and the bottom with the year.

We did get it confiscated once coming through security on the boat. Now my husband puts the bag in his pocket as we go through and it obviously does not come up on the metal detector.

It is a pretty small amount...I would say two tablespoons or so?

I travel for work some times and even my clients know that if we are going somewhere I have never been they have to help find a place for me to collect!!

  3. Hello! We are a family of four, travelling on quite a number of NCL cruises. To be honest I don't find there is a huge difference between the three that you mentioned from a room perspective (and we have stayed in all three). The mini suite does have a larger washroom, which is nice but as you mentioned no tub. If it is the same price I would do it, but if it is more, I would skip it.

From a bedding perspective, the rooms that are built for 4 are a king, the sofa bed which is a bed and an upper pullman over the sofa. One thing to note though, the child will sleep on the sofa, it doesn't pull out to be a bed if that makes sense. They do remove the back cushions to make it larger but it really is just the length of the sofa bed.

After final payment my cruise went down $1,000 for 2 passengers ($500 each).  Anyone have any experience with reductions and response from the cruise line and/or agent?

This happened to us for our cruise last spring...we were able to get $500USD in on board credit. Another time we were upgraded to a different room type.

  5. I was on this cruise and have to second JoJo27's review here...I thought it was a fabulous trip. I was disappointed in the two port cancels and yes, the tendering process in Norway could have been better but other than that it was awesome.

I can't believe you found the food horrible....all of us came back 10 lbs heavier than we left...including my 10 year old.
