Fortunately for the OP, as a Zenith member, he already gets many perks including premium drinks, access to Michaels/retreat and I believe internet.   I see they closed Port Everglades because of the lack of virus free dock workers.   Are you sailing out of Miami?

So every time you board a cruise ship you are prone to "norovirus"....so many tales of people and ships that had problems.....why is this different to everyone....the American flu has killed many thousands of people this year alone.....I'm unsure why "cornonavirus " is more scary to people than the flu...it's a chance we take going out every day...and I work in health care......taking precautions as we should...but cancelling a cruise....sounds a little over the top

I agree so much with this.  I understand the concerns, but statistically speaking this is rather minor.  I do understand lives are lost and that is never a trivial matter.  I struggle to understand why the reaction to Covid-19 is so different.  Perhaps because it is more easily transferred from one to another, but so is noro and the flu.

CDC --> https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm states there have been 20-52,000 flu deaths this flu season and 34-49,000,000 illnesses.

  3. I am closely following Equinox this week as I am to board for this same itinerary in two weeks.  Thank you for posting as I was curious about Equinox not being in port at Key West.  I hope you continue to give us updates on your cruise.

Happy Sailing and thank you for sharing.

  4. Generally with a tour through X on the day you disembark, luggage storage will be in the belly of the bus that transports you to PH and then the airport.  After boarding the bus, you will not need to worry about your luggage until you are done at PH and at the airport.

    Happy cruising!

  5. We were on the Silhouette during spring break and the amount of children was not an issue.  Yes, there were more than on our other cruises, but there were not that many.  I would not hesitate to book.

I had this happen and when I went back and look it had defaulted to Enhanced DL and Birth Certificate.   From the pull down I selected Passport and it then gave the slot to put in passport.

    Jim_Iain,

Thank you very much, this is exactly what is happening.  I was able to go in an give our passport information.  I am assuming this will save time during embarkation.

  7. Would you rather...

    1) Arrive into the embarkation city the day of your cruise, have no time to spare, and worry yourself crazy about missing your ship.

    2) Arrive into the embarkation city very early the day before, be bored silly the whole time, and have no way to get to anywhere fun.

     My vote is #2

Would you rather...   (I vote 2)

    1. Board early on embarkation day to get your vacations on board going as soon as possible, or,

    2. Board late oping to avoid a rush and a possible delay in your cabin being ready?

  8. Keywester33, we will be cruising in March so hopefully the weather will be pleasant; thank you for the link.

N41EF, great suggestion about the Key Lime Bike Tour; I will check it out.

We are truly looking forward to this visit, although it is several months away, the Key is calling.

  9. I am thinking about exploring Key West by bike rather than the Conch Train or the Ho-Ho.  I know we will miss out on the narration with history etc.   And missing that may be the deal breaker.

Do you have any experience biking Key West?  Tips to share? Best place to rent a bike?  Are there bike racks to lock up bikes at or near attractions such as the Hemingway House, Southernmost point, etc.

This will be our first time to visit Key West, we are excited to see, smell, and feel the local vibe.  Thank you for your thoughts.

  10. We take advantage of this offer each time we cruise.  Not only do we get the perks provided (OBC, etc.) we are also able to link the reservation with our TA and receive the perks our TA offers.  It is a win-win and gives us another cruise to look forward too before we are done with the current cruise.  I do research before we head out so I have a good idea what cruise I want to book.  We have also been given an cabin upgrade for booking on board.  A visit to the futures cruise desk is definitely worth the time.
