Take a regular taxi which are lined up at the port.

If you are paying high demand pricing for Uber, a regular taxi is cheaper.

There were no taxis lined up when we were there. It was just so strange and a such huge cluster....

  2. Last year for our NYE cruise we had booked and paid for a shuttle service. Came with parking and shuttle to and from the port. The "to" was fine. The "from ship back to the car" was a COMPLETE disaster!! Shuttle never came, when we called they said their shuttles were full and if we had read the fine print, the shuttle was not guaranteed... What?!? So we (along with what seemed to be the entire cruise passengers) got uber/lyft/taxis. After waiting for, no lie, almost 2 hours, we finally got an Uber and shared with other people.

Wondering what is the BEST way to get from the ship back to our car (either hotel, airport, parking garage).

  3. Good morning.

For the past 3 years, hubby and I take our NYE cruise and then stay in Orlando for 3 months to escape Michigan weather 🙃

Wondering if anyone has ever taken the Brightline from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale. I thought maybe we would leave our car in Orlando, take Brightline to Fort Lauderdale and then Uber to our Airbnb for the night before the cruise. After the cruise, Uber to Brightline from cruise then get our car in Orlando and be on our way.

Does it sound easier then it actually may end up being?

What we have been doing for the last few years is parking at the hotel. We then take a taxi from and to the hotel. With tip around 20 dollars each way. No waiting around.

Which hotel? Is it a secured lot?

  5. Hi there

Sailing out of Fort Lauderdale (Port Eveglades??) for the NYE cruise on Oasis! We will have our car but need to know where to park. We will UBER/LYFT from there to and from the ship because even though we scheduled a shuttle company last year, we were standing around for (and this is NO JOKE) over 2 hours after our cruise before the shuttle ended up NOT coming. It was a complete cluster! We ended up sharing one with another couple because they were stranded too. So, this year we are avoiding that headache and just going to uber or lyft from wherever we park.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi there. Looking for excursions/things to do on Curacao for our upcoming NYE cruise on Oasis. Excursions from the ship are pretty sold out so we are looking for something to do ourselves (6 adults). It can range from walking to golfing to beaching to whatever. We are pretty open but would like to know what there is so we can look.

    Thanks!

I think you were misinformed.  I've been cruising Royal for YEARS and you don't need to make reservations to go to the Schooner Bar.

The reason there was no room to seat you is because you didn't show up early enough.  Schooner Bar gets packed easily, especially later in the day.

Not misinformed. We actually asked the bartender there that night what it was all about and he told us you had to reserve a table. At that time it was $1500 for a table of 4 but you got 1 champagne bottle. Not worth it in my opinion!

  8. Hi

We were on Oasis last year for NYE and tried to sit in the Schooner Bar but they were "booked". We didn't realize you had to make a reservation....

So, this year we will be on Oasis over NYE again and would like to book a reservation there. Does anyone know how to go about doing that?

    Thanks!

    Tracy

  9. Hi All

We sailed on Oasis over NYE and booked Oasis NYE 2024 while we were still on board 😁. Wondering if anyone has any pictures of cabin #9704. But while I am at it, any pictures of cabins #9700 and #9702 too?

I've searched on here and YouTube with no luck (could be user error.....)

    Thanks!

Basically they just confirm the three health questions you answer  on the app two days before you board.  Arrival time is the time to arrive at the terminal and you select a time when you do your online check in.

I've heard 10:30-11am was the earliest. I clicked check in right at midnight and the 1st time I could choose was 11-12. So, was the information for 10:30 wrong, or were the early slots really taken literally within less than 2 seconds?

It's just confusing because arrival time should be when you can board, not when you have your wellness check. I mean, people are excited to board and then when they can finally choose a boarding time, it's not REALLY a boarding time. If that makes sense.

  12. Hi there

Check in for my cruise is tomorrow, September 18. I went to the app just now and clicked on check in, just to see what it would say or if they open check in earlier than date stated. It said "Check in closed. Check in to the port at least 90 minutes before departure or you may be denied boarding." Does that mean all check in slots online have been taken already??

  13. Hi

We will be on Independence Of The Seas in November and wondering if the show times are listed somewhere? We have early dinner scheduled (5:30) because we want to be able to see the shows. However, I feel like we'll be rushed back on to the ship after port days so we can get ready for dinner that early.

We have cruised several times and have booked late seating for dinner and saw shows afterwards. I'm hearing they don't schedule shows to accommodate for dinner times anymore, is that right?

Pick another sailing. Click the person icon on the top right of the app ‐--> select a different cruise ---> browse our ships --> Indy of the seas, pick the latest sailing. The attire should be the same for your cruise.

Thank you! Based on what I looked at (Sept 11-15), it doesn't appear there is a White Night on our sailing (Nov 2-6)

Ok. Mine only goes until 3pm day 2, 12pm day 3, 2pm day 4. Maybe I need to wait until closer to sailing, which is in November? Which stinks because I'm a planner and it would be nice to know if I need to purchase anything now.

I'll keep a lookout on the app. Thanks for the tip!

The lounge is open to anyone. The diamond lounge is next to it. Not the same location.

In your app click on the current sailing and see. Usually a white or Caribbean night. Idk about this, I dont bring these outfits. I pack light.

Awesome! I am on the app but don't see where to go to look for dinner night info 🫤

  17. I apologize for the probable repeat questions but I am having a hard time finding the answers.

    For Independence of the Seas:

    1) Can we get into the Viking Crown Lounge as NOT a diamond member?

    2) Where can I find a list of theme nights for dinner and what nights they are? i.e. white night, formal night any other night?

    Thanks!
