I must say my poor little brain can't relate to this thread. I look at a vacation as an excuse to indulge and not worry about calories and weight. I worry about that the rest of the year. Once I get home I get on the scale and whatever weight I have gained I watch my calories and exercise and take it back off. My philosophy is to not hold back and miss out while on vacation and fix any issues after its over. Guess I am just a hedonist.

What room are you filming from: Looks forward

I am also very interested in a post from someone that has taken this excursion and their thoughts. It is offered on my cruise in 2019.

Since all Visa/MasterCard debit cards are chip and pin should those not work everywhere?

Thanks guys as always. This site is so helpful. I will checkout the Port messages board also. Again, Thank you

Hello,
Has anyone stopped at the port of Murci used on the "Trade Routes of the Middle Ages" and the "New Along Europe's Western Coast"? The sample excursions all sound boring.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi,
Has anyone been on the Viking Star lately? I know she was the first ship built back in 2014. Showing any wear and tear? Did they ever upgrade the Wi-Fi? Probably going to be on this ship next year with the Mediterranean & Italian Sojourn.

That's what I was afraid of. She possibly could take her sister but doubt she could afford it unless we helped her pay and honestly I have no desire to travel with her :(

Hello,
Two years ago my sister and I took a Viking Ocean cruise (Mediterranean Odyssey) and absolutely loved it. We shared a cabin with two beds and it worked out great. Now we would like to take a cruise and bring along our mother. We are all single so just the 3 of us. Before calling our travel agent and getting her all excited does anyone know if Viking has any rooms that can accommodate 3 people or do they offer reduced rates for a third person in a separate cabin?
Thanks,
Jeffrey

I have thought about river cursing but not sure I would be happy with the lack of aninimity that a river cruise allows. River cruises have such wnderful itenieries all over the world but as a private person not sure it would be to my liking

I see Viking offered some new Southeast Asia trips. I was looking forward to these offerings but they seem to be in the wrong months for ideal weather and the iteniaries seem somewhat lacking a great overview of the area. I may purchase the Southeast Asia and Hong Kong trip. http://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/cruise-destinations/asia-australia/southeast-asia-hong-kong/index.html Any thought? Surprised it spends 3 days in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ditto,
We were in 5029 by the stairs and loved the convenience of that location. Never heard a sound.

Problem is that many in their targeted democrafic respond more to direct mail than to digital channels

I would love to know what the included silver package premium wines are and much appreciate your effects to inform.
Cheers

This bites as I have late reservations at a restaurant in the city. Anyone have advice how to get back to the ship without paying a fortune. Uber? Shuttle service? Cab?
What will a cab cost?

It's part of the incentive to book to a higher class of room. Viking does not promise you the excusion of your choice or time of your choice. Simply a slightly larger room is not the only thing you get when you book a more expensive Catagory.
I know I choose the P.V class based on the fact I would have a better chance of getting reservations at my preferred time into the restaurants and excursions. Otherwise I could have saved some money and dealt with a slightly smaller room but still with a veranda.
I am sure many other people did the same thing as myself for the same reasons and viking is counting on that so that they can run a successful business

Doesn't look like there is much free time. It's a packed agenda

Thanks for the advice and glad to hear Viking is good with BYOB. I am curious if they offer a decent by the bottle selection for purchase only cause I don't want to wonder around an Italian port in August with glass or alcohol while trying to enjoy the sights.
Cheers to all!

Looks like a great Villa. Can't wait

Not sure what you mean Fairfield Nana.

Anyone?. It's a new question never addressed as opposed to every other thread complaining about the free excursions changing times after booking..

Has anyone ever captured an image of the by the bottle wine list in the various restaurants? I am curious if they have a nice selection for sale. Also, is it the same list in each restaurant?
Thanks for any insight.

I agree. You can book directly with Viking or use a TA who gives a huge discount off the published promotion.
Wait..Is it really possible that a Travel Agent can get you a discount more than Viking direct will offer in the United States? I delt with a TA when I booked my ocean cruise and very much regret it..she got the massive commission for doing nothing and now Viking does not want to talk to me when I have the simplest of questions that my TA does not understand. I am still trying to figure out in this day and age with the internet what use a TA serves...never again..deal with Viking directly is my advice..I don't need a TA to tell me something I could learn by spending 5 minutes online

Damn metabolism. Truly not fair that it slows down as we grow older :(
