  1. The other day when I tried to click on the offers, the icon just kept spinning and didn't go anywhere. But, when I went through the Find a Cruise process, bingo (no pun intended). $50 per person Inside cabin cruises all over the place.....I was logged in, so my offers apparently automatically showed up when I went to book something. DH and I are leaving in less than 2 weeks on the Sensation (we live in Florida near the port) for $50 per person. Can't be that for a weekend cruise and 3 nights in an Inside cabin is tolerable. So, we decided to look for more and have booked an 8-day S. Caribbean on the Breeze the week of Thanksgiving. The inside was $50 per person, but we are used to balconies and suites and didn't think we could stand 8 days in an inside. Not to worry - the balcony was only $400 per person, so we jumped on it. We spend lots of time in the ship casinos and this will be our 25th cruise on Carnival and 36th cruise total since 1994. I think we deserved these great rates, especially since the casino perks have been dwindling on each cruise. Used to receive at least $100 in cash the first night and now it's about $25 or $0.

When you click into an offer and it just spins try removeing secure. from the URL and then press enter. This works for me.

  2. Also keep in mind that if you are getting bounce back offers you may also be pretty likely to start getting Pack and Play and Casino offers which can be just as good. No guarantee and they usually don't appear if you already have another cruise booked. But I just booked 3 (August, Thanksgiving and Christmas) with this offer and these tend to have more and further out options than a bounce back does. Check your offers.

Edit: and the cancellation for these is easy and only a $100 penalty at most.

  3. Ha. Amazing how people see things differently. I was at that table and had a great time.

When two entertaining Type A people land at a table it can be difficult to get a word in. It happens.

The Hitler comment (in context) was about a young man trying to grow a mustache to impress his prospective girlfriend who later became his wife and a comment from her mother about his failure and who he reminder her of and the comment was met with cringes by the other family members present at that time.

The politician comment was in context to the failure to get a new cruise port in Charleston actually and we all know how hot that one is even though there was additional discussion about a similar difficulty with getting additional bridge access to the NC Outer banks.

The wait staff had a lot of tables and it seems so did our cabin steward so I agree things were slow but not bad.

Please feel free to judge yourself with a little more context. Personally I had a great time and no regrets.

Also on a side note the number of wedding aboard made the whole cruise very festive and it was magic to see happy new couples enjoying the cruise.

  4. We enjoyed the Country Inn and Suites on our last cruise and highly recommend them. Also look into clubcarlson.com their loyalty program, we recently joined with an 80,000 point bonus for a reasonable initial spend on their VISA card. With the spend and bonus that was good for 3 nights with them at a premium location like Port Canaveral.

  5. I registered with my legal first name but go by my middle name. So each cruise I have to explain to the staff what I prefer to be called. While speaking with a purser they suggested I simply change my name on the web site with my preferred name first. After doing this everything went great until I got an email after out last (cruise number 8) cruise I get an email congratulating me on my first cruise. Yep ... when I checked online all prior cruises were gone. So be careful of this little bug. Luckily the issue was corrected by Carnival by changing my name which restored the cruises and then they manually added the last.

  6. Oceanview on the Fantasy seems to be mostly the same and your chances of getting an obstructed view is very small. But not all cabins are the same from a noise and location perspective, would you be happy being just off the atrium, beside the elevator or under the galley, those are serious considerations when allowing Carnival to choose your cabin for you.

  7. We just did 7 nights on the Sunshine April 4. Everything good people say about the Sunshine is right on and everything bad people say about the Sunshine is right on. Armed with that knowledge we had a great cruise and loved every minute of it (except night 6).

Balcony cabin 6286, just above the Red Frog Pub. Great location, great room, some loud music from the pub in early evenings but nothing annoying until night 6 when they had the Red Frog Pub Pubfest, it started at 7:30 PM and went on until well after midnight. They must have turned the amps up because the room boomed from the music. Every performed on the ship took a turn and it went on forever. Just for this night I highly advise avoiding this cabin and the ones around it.

Oh! And the gem of the ship in my opinion was the Havana Bar, read some of the other posts about it, you'll love it and it will be your secret spot until others figure it out a few days into the cruise.
