  1. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, I am glad you were all able to enjoy it. There are two other videos on the site that you may enjoy as well... one is planes in St Maarten, and one is a timelapse of the sailaway from San Diego on the Amsterdam (same trip as the food video).

I have had lots of fun making these. I hope you enjoy them.

  2. Thanks for your kind words. I had previously checked out your blog as well, and your blog name is AWESOME. Great photos as well. I hope to take some more time and look at it more at some point, but have been decompressing from our trip and trying to get some stuff out there to share.

We have toyed with the idea of removing the recipe stuff, since the analytics show nearly zero traffic so far.... So, we shall see what happens with that.

Thanks for looking, and check back from time to time. Also, just a question... is the main page a little cluttered, or is it OK?

  3. Greetings, On our blog, we have a few cruise videos that we have recently made. We are new to making videos (and blogging), so please feel free to provide any feedback.

Also, check out the blog and provide any feedback. THANKS!

  4. Thanks for watching. I am glad you liked it. It was fun to make until I realized that it was nearly 2AM this morning, and it was way beyond time to go to bed.

There are a few other videos and reviews on the blog, with more to come...

We are new to this video and blog thing, so if anyone has ANY feedback, good or bad, please feel free to share, so we can add value. :)

  5. Greetings. We have just finished a video from our San Diego to Vancouver Pacific Coastal Cruise on MS Amsterdam from 27MAY to 30MAY. The video shows both levels of the main dining room, as well as the Main Dining Room food highlights and menus for the trip.

When we booked the trip we found that it was difficult to find any videos or photos of the Amsterdam, so we made some. Hope you enjoy. Feedback is always welcome. :)

  6. Most reports I have read of those are quite favorable. It seems that people love them. I myself would like to give them a try sometime. Let us know what you come up with, and if you liked it. I was on the Breeze, but had an "interior" room, which in this case was at the front of the ship with a walkway view.... We could see where we were going at the same price as a windowless room. We quite enjoyed it. I have started a Breeze review on our blog, but just got back from another trip and am trying to get all of that info together as well.... stupid real life keeps getting in the way.

  7. I had no idea that person was called the "yum yum man". As we left the dining room, he was never at the little station cart that was set by the door, so we never partook of the goodies. I did like the outfit though. I feel slightly guilty for only being able to think of the flying monkeys when I saw it.

  8. While we were not on a Med cruise, we were on the Divina last year in October, and it is a beautiful ship. We have a review on our blog about the ship that is worth taking a peek... We hadn't planned in advance to do a review, so it was more of an afterthought.. but enjoy the pics and review to get yourself ready for your cruise.... Blog address is below. :)

  9. Glad you all liked it. The coast guard boats with machine guns were pretty interesting. I don't know if that's standard for San Diego, or what, but it was definitely interesting.

I have some stuff from inside the ship that I want to get together as a short tour of the ship, but that will take a little time (and I am still on vacation)... When I was looking for info on the ship, I had trouble finding pics of the inside, much less, videos... so I thought it may come in handy.

thanks for watching! Feel free to share :)

  10. Just got off of the MS Amsterdam today from a 3 day Pacific coast (San Diego to Vancouver)...

On formal night the 3 teenagers wore nice suits, DH wore a suit, and I wore a nice dress.

It was a nice experience to have everyone dressed nicely together. Sadly, we opted not to spend the $40 per sheet on the photos, but they would have been nice.

Everyone in the MDR were dressed nicely, and I cannot recall seeing anyone not wearing the standard minimum.

  11. I have never been on any other HAL ship, but just today got off of the Amsterdam in Vancouver (it just sailed away a few minutes ago). The ship was pretty small compared to other ships I have been on. In my humble opinion, it depends on what you seek. The Amsterdam was small, and was not crowded. Very rarely was there anyplace that we had to deal with crowds. Dinner there was no waiting, the decks and public areas were always easy to deal with.

Again, I am unable to compare / contrast with the other HAL ships, but I enjoyed the smaller crowds. I had my three teenage sons with me, and maybe wouldn't suggest it for a cruise with younger family members, but it was quite enjoyable.

There will be a review upcoming very soon. We have a few more days of vacation, so I may not be on top of things until we get back home. Check out our blog soon for reviews, pictures, and videos.
