We sat with two brothers from England who were in their 80s. They had some fascinating stories about being a kid during World War Two. And one of them went ballroom dancing every night.

We always book cabins with a balcony. Having the option of that quiet personal outdoor space is priceless to us.
This is us, too. My husband is an early riser even on vacation. He can go there.
That said we didn't have on on our Mediterranean cruise and didn't miss it that much.

Glad you enjoyed this one!
Your 30+ day cruise sounds amazing! We have dogs and cats so 14 is our limit. I like to live vicariously through everyone else's long cruises.

Thanks everyone! I will let you know.
Yes, it is the Crown.
-
I tried a search and didn't see the answer.
My family, which is me, my husband and adult daughter will be cruising. Daughter will be in the cabin next door.
Is it possible to do the UBD for three on one balcony?
We are on the Crown in a Caribe deck. Thanks.

I took ziplocks the last cruise but I love the shower cap idea.

My family and I are taking the Thanksgiving cruise on the Crown. The iffy talk is makng me nervous but I am determined to have another great cruise on Princess.
-
I drank ship water and bought bottles as needed. We also bought some in Puerto Vallarta and in the process went to a Mexican grocery which was fun. We don't get out much, lol.
We always buy the soda package and our MDR waiters always had my husband's soda for him.

Oh interesting. I want to go to Malta.
-
I'm in this club, too! We leave on our 5th cruise in November.
I've learned so much on here like the Carnival stock that gives onboard credit.
-
The only line we've done besides Princess is RCI (except our honeymoon on the defunct line Primere) and we are happy with them.
Our 29 year old daughter likes them, too.
My husband is still working so we don't cruise that often.

The buffet on the Royal offers so much more than the DR I doubt he'll be disappointed. They even sometimes have items that the DR doesn't serve.
We found that the best time to skip the DR is on Italian night with everything the DR has plus some items we've never seen in the DR ever.
Another time is on Thanksgiving when you can select a little of dozens of choices vs. the DR with just one main course & two veggies.
Thanks for this tip! We are going to be on the Crown for Thanksgiving this year. My husband prefers the MDR but maybe I'll look at the buffet after to scope it out.
I have to say, all of this Royal buffet talk is making me want to try that ship!

Thanks for the review!

I got involved in a cruise long trivia tournament on our Panama Canal cruise. I got very competitive. We came in second but had a blast. I also played a silly game show which for me was really outside of my normally introverted comfort zone.
I also bought an Acupuncture package. I didn't discover the thermal suite until my last day. I spent the whole 2 weeks with a migraine and went into the hospital after we got home. I told DH I need a 'do-over'!

I hope people are still here.
We will be three people in two cabins- would we be able to all eat at once? We're in two balcony cabins on Baja deck if that tells you anything.
Thanks!

Another vote for the Coral Princess. We did the full transit and loved it.
-
On Princess we like to go to the MDR. We do that for lunch on sea days, too. I think Crown has the Salty Dog which we want to try.
-
Thanks for that on page map!
-
Terry, thank you so much! I couldn't see any pictures because of the new Photobucket set up. I appreciated all the links!
-
Thanks all! I booked this and just told my husband it will be all right. It's nice they have RX marks, also.
-
This was a great review and very informative! I also recommend the TUST! We did it on the Coral.
I'm sorry to hear about the pumpkin pie! We are planning on the MDR for Thanksgiving as we're on the Crown and I don't think their buffet is anything special
How is the rest of the Thanksgiving meal? For anyone who ate in MDR.
-
Do you mean while you are on the ship? If so, they did offer the Ultimate Ship Tour. It was very interesting. It's expensive but you get a nice robe, cookbook and personalized stationery.
-
We often travel as a large extended family and with teens/young people...You can all eat one at a time or all together....or do like me and have breakfast twice. ;p
That also happened with my husband who is an early riser and me. I tried to make the MDR most mornings but sometimes he went early and then again with me.
He also brought me a Cro-nut most mornings.

Thanks to rave reviews on CC we are thinking about doing the Ultimate Balcony Dinner. I was worried it might be awkward so we avoided it before.

We did a family trip in 2009 and it was great! Sounds like a great trip.
