I wouldn't want to risk losing my 4-top at 7PM. I don't trust the wonky RSSC website.
How come you don't want to call Regent? I have never had any problems calling them other than sometimes - like on a Monday, having to wait to get someone. I have found them to be very helpful.

We were in a Grand Suite twice on Splendor over the past 14 months, and were able to order rood service from any dining venue as long as they were open. We will be on Grandeur in July and trust this perk stays in place for us.
Hi, We are in the Grand Suite 785 on a cruise in March. Which one were you in? Any comments/opinions on the suite?

I asked the Viking agent we booked with if they get commission and he said no. We have called about a couple Viking cruises with Viking agents and never had a problem with receiving calls. It may just be the individual agent and how they handle things.

We like the back the best. At most ports, when you leave you get a beautiful view of the place you are leaving. And you can have your lights on and no rocking or noise.

Sorry my comment should have been directed to Sockysunshine post 13 who says in future they will take a different cruise line. I know the current situation having docked in Ravenna in April instead of Fusina/Margherita. Some people obviously do not understand the decisions are made by the local authorities in Venice and not by the individual cruise lines.
I only meant I would take a cruise line that goes somewhere other than Chioggia if I wanted to go to Venice.

They say there is a shuttle, however, the shuttle drops you off in an area not far from the ship and a long way from town. It is a long walk from there to the main street and we had to ask how to get there. One reason is because there are bridges over the lagoon so a car can not get to the main street the way we went. There probably is a way to drive there but the shuttle doesn't do that.

We were on the first Viking ship to stop at Chioggia. Downtown Chioggia is totally closed from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. It was not someplace I ever want to go back to. The people who did the excursion to Venice (went to Venice and back by boat) were not very happy with how long it took getting there and back, which cut into time in Venice. We were staying in Venice after the cruise. A bus took us to the airport and we had to walk a VERY long way to a boat to get to our hotel which was on an island. The guide walked at a very fast pace and it was a difficult walk for many people. Hopefully by now they have some golf carts or something for people who have difficulty walking. We were not please with having to dock at Chioggia and will take a different cruise line if going to Venice in the future.

My husband and I recently returned from our third Viking cruise. We both said we wished the menus in the restaurants, especially Manfredi's would change so we could have more variety.

MVJ
in Viking Ocean
When I log in, I can see one of my cruises but can not get to the second one. The drop down menu doesn't work. I did a live chat and she said she would refer it to someone - I can't remember who, and it would be fixed in 24 hours. That was way more than 24 hours ago and I still can't do it.
-
Mine did not do that. It still shows my previous cruise.
-
We also agree about late breakfast/brunch. I totally agree with Sheila.

To answer your second question, you can ask the Regent representative which cabins are available in your catagory and/or you can pick a different cabin and ask if that is available. They will be very willing to help you with that.

I don't know anything about cabins on deck 12, but cabins 1004,1005, 1008, and 1009 have very large deep balconies and no noise. We have stayed in 1004 previously on a different ship and are staying in 1005 Feb 17 on Splendor. You can see the deck plans here. https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Seven-Seas-Splendor-2153/deck10-5561
It could be that the cabins on 12 are a little larger, not sure but the balconies on 10 definately are larger.

When I was considering booking (on 2 different cruises), I called Silversea directly. I was looking at a deck plan when I called. Both times the person I spoke with told me exactly which cabins were available in the catagory I was considering. I could see them on the map and choose which I wanted. They also are knowledgeable about advantages and disadvantages of cabins. And I did not feel obligated to buy at that time. They are very helpful.

My husband and I are scheduled on the Splendor Feb 17, 2002 out of Miami and we sure hope the ship will be able to go. We have had 3 cancelled cruises so we are ready to go.

We have an Oct cruise booked and paid for that we think will probably be cancelled but we will not be taking the 125% voucher. We had one cancelled in June and did use the voucher for one next June. I think we should hear something soon about October.

I think one difference in when you have to pay is what kind of "special pricing" you get. We booked one once that had a really great special price and we had to pay the balance almost a year in advance.
-
We are scheduled for November, 2020 (West Indies Explorer, Nov 9) and our final payment is due by the end of this month. We haven't received anything from Viking "reminding" us to pay yet so we are hoping it will get delayed but I doubt it. We also think there is a good possibility this gets cancelled, but will wait to see.

According to Wyatt Burns (my Viking representative) for insurance purposes the cost of the cruise is $0. We got our insurance through Viking. I only know what he told me. I know I really paid for the cruise. 🙂

I will try and do a better job of explaining. The cost of insurance of a cruise is based on the cost of the cruise. I believe it (the insurance) was $819 per person on our old cruise. The cost of my new cruise is $0 (because of the voucher being applied to it) so the insurance is very low. I think he said it would be around $300. I didn't sign up for it now so don't have exact amount or why it is $300.
Is that more clear?

Our cruise in June was cancelled, of course. The price for next year is a little lower. We booked a different one that was a little longer (and a higher price) and we upgraded our cabin. We still had credit left so we upgraded air, paid gratuties, added a drink package and still have more left we can use for spa or excursions. (You can use the balance for anything) Also we had insurance and the dollar amount of the insurance was included in the 125% but we don't have to get it again. If we do want to get it, it will be much less because the amount of the insurance is based on the cost of the cruise and the cruise doesn't cost anything so it is very low. I would say they are being more than fair. We are very pleased.

Just curious regarding Roll Call
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
We have sailed on many of the luxury brand cruise lines and I also have found that Regent has the least amount of people participating in the roll calls. I haven't found that most people join to share excursion information. Viking excursions are free and Viking roll calls always have a lot of people on roll call and they are usually very active. I have no idea why but it appear not as much interest on Regent.
