  1. I had the luck for the first 10 years I booked with Carnival to have a great PVP who cared about me as a customer. He called with trips he thought we would like that were at a good value. Once booked he called to wish a Bon Voyage, and when we returned he called to see how everything went.

Since then I've had a new PVP ever two years on average and all they are are order takers.

But how how can you expect much from them when you get little from the company itself anymore. If you book Carnival strictly for price these days then Carnival's mission has been accomplished.

  2. We had the same situation with a guard posted outside room next to ours. On the 2nd day I finally asked the guard and he said the rooms two male passengers who were confined to their room until we reached the next port where they would be removed from the ship.

We heard from other passengers in our area the young men who were old enough to drink had taken an underage girl to their cabin and gave her alcohol which evidently then led to other activities.

  3. We hope safety issues are being addressed on known issues. It would appear the right steps have been taken. But make no misistake about it, when the next problem occurs... and one will at some point, HOW Carnival handles it will be the real proof of whether or not management learned from Triumph.

I hope next time Mickey Arison has the smarts to stay off courtside and TV with his beloved Heat.

  4. So, we decide, hey, let's celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with a two week back to back! Nice!

I go looking for that contact info, who was that PVP that has been calling us? Remember his first name, but not last and cannot find contact info. Never had a PVP before, approaching 50 days at seas, it's time to get a PVP...That's OK, just call Carnival, they will know who he is.....

5 minutes later....NOT!! They have no idea with my VIFP # who this PVP is. OK, well transfer me to a PVP please.

30 seconds later, "hello this is ****** can I help you?" Yes, I say, are you a PVP, they reply, yes. Great, can you tell me who the PVP is that has been calling me? Nope. OK time to give up I guess on finding that guy, will work with this person.

Fast forward 4 days, I find out ***** is not a PVP, is really a CVS (cruise vacation specialist) and I won't be getting the services a PVP offers. I'm not happy.

2 hours later on the phone with Carnival, and getting no where, bang an email shows up from the PVP I was looking for.I call him, tell him what happened, and nothing he can do to get the booking transferred to him, but he will take care of this booking for me. I'm now feeling guilty and angry, how could this ****** miss-represent herself as a PVP when she is not? It's just wrong.

So, my lesson learned, keep track of these names and numbers, Carnival makes no record of your PVP on your account. At least now I have my PVP locked in. As for the CVS that lied to me, my email to Carnival with all the details is on the way, I hope karma shines upon her.

Last month I called and asked who my PVP was. My previous PVP had left the company and the new one sent an email saying she was my new PVP. At the time I sent her a reply email and asked if she would send me her card. She never did.

Fast forward to this year and I wanted to book a cruise. Couldn't find her name so I called CCL and asked who my PVP was. You would have thought I was requesting the keys to the Carnival Treasure box. No one knew and there was no way I could get that info.

I finally got ahold of a supervisor and after having to get nasty she said she could call my PVP and ask if it was all right if I was given her name name. WTH?

If I hadn't had a FCC to use I would have called a competitor after 13 cruises. So they did finally inform my PVP I wanted to book a trip and I did get a call.

What a joke Carnival. I've never known of a company where sales persons name were classified information.

  5. I would enjoy a concert given what the cost would be and whether it would be at a port that I wanted to do things at. But I think its a nice option. We live in an area where we don't get a whole lot of concerts without driving long distances to see. If I were booking a cruise specifically because of the concert I would want to make sure I could get tickets before I booked it though

  6. Just call the regular #, why do you need a pvp?

I guess I really don't. For a good number of years we had a great PVP and he was very helpful. I enjoyed that relationship and would prefer that over talking to someone different each time I call.

  7. The PVP assigned to me no longer works at Carnival, so as we are looking to book a cruise I called Carnival to see who is currently assigned to us. To my surprise Carnival is unable to pull up my account and tell me who my PVP is even if I give them my customer # or Pin #.

I guess we will just call and take whoever we get, but you wouldn't think it would take an act of Congress to get that kind of info, unless anyone here might have a suggestion on how to get the info.

  8. We flew in the day of the cruise. We flew from Omaha to Miami, then to San Juan. Schedule was to arrive in San Juan at 2pm with the ship sailing at 10pm.

Got to Miami no problem, boarded the flight to San Juan and the pilot announced a problem with the plane. We finally arrived in San Juan at 9:40pm. Carnival held the ship as several guests were on the same flight.

We no longer fly in the day of the sailing.

  9. Without making this another argument, I would just like to say that I am a very happy and positive person. I don't appreciate comments on My thread like...

"I heard something that may or may not be true. And I heard it from a reliable source. What do you think?"

You seriously need to ask that??? I can't stop laughing. Someone's really yanking your chain."

Why comment if one is going to be negative? I am just stating the facts that I have received. Thank you and have a great day.

Try not to let it bother you, some folks get off putting folks down.

  10. We've had 2 Cove Balcony rooms, the most recent 2403 on the Breeze. Both rooms had noise around 11:30pm each night for approximately 30 minutes. Both rooms were below the kitchen. We really didn't notice the noise after the 2nd night. We like the balcony being so close to the water and the fact it is shaded from the sun. Great place to sip on a rum drink and listen to the waves.

  11. Higher expectations due to her being a new ship?? Perhaps we live in a society that expects more when paying less? It could be due to poor economy those who actually take vacations are expecting more for their money since we have to work harder for it?

    I'm spit-balling!:p

It seems that many reviews are contradictory... same sail date but one person's food was cold and bland, whereas another's will be hot and delish. One complains about no chairs by pool and another will say there were plenty. Long lines, no lines. Great staff, grumpy staff... To each his own, and I'm wading through the BS and reading between the lines.

My vacation will be what I make of it and not take others reviews with too much gusto. I like to think that I'm going in with an open mind and "forewarned" of possible bumps in the road, but until I actually sail the Breeze (less than two months!!), will I form my own opinion. I look forward to writing my own review, which I will be through and honest, and not let emotion overrule facts.

I've noticed one of the main complaints is cold food and slow service in the MDR. Kind of hard to make the most of that, unless you give up on the MDR and go to the Lido Buffet each night.
