The OP's friends are on the Freedom of the Seas - its RCI that is adjusting the route, not Carnival. Although I do agree with your general sediment in "why are they adjusting the route so early?"

Im guessing Royal Caribbean doesn't want a repeat disaster like the Anthem of the Sea. We were on the conquest last summer around this time. We were being chased by 2 hurricanes. The captain was brilliant and did change itineraries BUT we didn't know until 2 days into the cruise.

In FLL a few weeks ago. Did self assist. Lido deck was called around 9am. Took elevator down and walked directly off ship, no line at all. Got to customs and went through the line, yes it was long but it constantly was moving. Through customs by 930am.

Fantastic!! I guess that's the best case scenario. We are on the Lido deck too.

I wanted to post in the Conquest forum if anyone has ever been in room 9222 but my New Post button is missing.

I've read a lot of posts where people said it took a long time to get off the ship and through Customs. My flight is 12:55 and I'm concerned I'm going to miss it.

I've even heard that people who carry off their luggage took a long time. Should I be worried?

John Heald announced on June 12th that only two more ships, the Magic on 07/19/2015 and Triumph on 08/10/2015, will be getting the American Table menus this year.

In addition it is already on the Freedom, Liberty, Inspiration, Imagination, Breeze and the Glory. So looks like you folks on the Conquest will have the old menus.

Where can I get a glimpse of the old menu? I'm cruising Carnival for the first time August 23.

I am ALWAYS at the port by 10:30. Never a problem in getting on board between 11:30 and Noon.

Do you purchase the FTTF or are you a preferred guest?

This may vary from ship to ship, port to port....

 

On the Breeze, airport transfers were boarded after FTTF. I suspect that is the list the person was referring to. If you are on an airport transfer, you may be boarded earlier than general boarding.

Thanks for the reply. The Carnival person specifically said I would be on a list for FTTF due to the software glitch not allowing me to book both Air Travel and FTTF. Its not the airport transfers, its the flight that messed it up. :o

If you can't or don't purchase FTTF, get to the port by 10:00 - 10:15 so that you can get as low of a boarding zone number as possible.

I booked my cruise through Carnival. First I booked air with them and due to software glitches, was unable to get my FTF because of the booked air. They told me I would be placed on a list to get FTF and when I arrive to the docks, need to contact someone to inform them I'm on this list. I found a better flight, cancelled my air with Carnival and booked independently. Of course FTF was sold out. Does anyone know about this "List" and who I should contact. I'm not even confident a list exists.

I'm sure this review took you a long time to construct so THANK you for your time!! This is our first time on Carnival. My only concern was that we have a 12:55pm flight home. I have been worried we might not make it but I think your tips will prepare us better.
