I also had my mask on outdoors. Lots of coughing on this sailing (typical to what you hear during flu season). The table on either side of us at dinner had several kids so who knows I’d they were vaccinated but the dining room was full and everyone close and up and dancing during showtime.

Lucky for me I was seated right by the entrance of the MDR and on this 6 day cruise I heard only 2 people cough due to some food they were consuming, on the 18 Sept cruise one lady constantly coughed, probably on Lisinopril for Blood Pressure which causes you to cough a lot, no one in her group was concerned. I was out of the dining room before SHOWTIME. LoL

Does anyone know if carnival allows you to use the two test kits that come in the box for the binax home test for two different people?
we have 6 people cruising and need to know if I order 3 kits or 6 kits.

If you are talking about the OTC box with the 2 at home test kits inside it, then No.

For the AG eMed proctor kits, you get 2 for $70.00 so yes you will need 3 orders. That will equal to 6 kits.

Does anyone else think the tipping thing is getting out of hand? Every time you swipe your card at a register the tip screen pops up. It can be something as simple as handing me a prepared item out of a case right in front of me. I know this is more of an example of what's happening on land but are we becoming too comfortable with tipping after we have already tipped? On a ship you are automatically charged a tip yet everyone seems to happily tip above that.

Should I post on here that I tip a crisp $20 every time I am handed anything? I know I am just rambling on but where does it become too much?

I am more of a traditional tipper. I will go as high as 25% when the check arrives if I received great service. Less if the service was less.

I know it's a personal choice and I do sometimes tip additional on board but I also keep in mind the automatic tip I already paid. If we all continue down this road of tipping on top of our tipping and tipping in the beginning to try to increase our chances of better service I don't think we will like the new norm we will build for ourselves.

For those types of transactions, I just write a Zero with the line going across it and continue with the total.

Here’s a story, went to Universal Studios in L.A. at a Tony Roma’s restaurant. First day service and food amazing and I tip very well to this waiter.

2nd day we go back, service was just ok and the food was great but this lady CIRCLED the tip area!!!!   I was shocked. Did she get a TIP hell no, contacted the general manager when I got home and he apparently gave this waitress some training, I told him to pull all of the receipts from her tables so he can see.

From the way she was babbling her mouth, sounds like she was new there and came from a Dennys type restaurant.

  4. The machines are good to have, I only used it once to try them out but the thought of having the same soft bristles in warm soapy waters touch my hands after every one else kinda freaked me out.  I took my hands out before it ended seems longer then I wanted to be. I still prefer the washy washy stations and paper towels.

The OTC tests don't have the proctored portion (you read the results yourself) and aren't permitted for pre-cruise testing.  There are different labels on the BinaxNow boxes:  RX for the proctored tests and OTC for the self administered/self read tests.  I think that the RX tests need to be bought on-line (or at least that is what the cruise lines recommend).

I bring the OTC kit with me on my cruise just Incase I feel something.  Then when I get home, I test 3 or 5 days after I get back just to make sure.

The OTC kits cost $23.00 at Walgreens and includes 2 test kits inside the box.

  6. Well guys I’m going to take you back in time, a friend and I found the Pre-pay gratuity removal list. I wrote this in May 2009. The actual picture is gone but a few papers covered the story, New York Post and a British Paper like London times.  Here’s the thread.  Enjoy.

Well it won’t let me link the page from this same website but here’s the title you can search it.

  7. Late post for the OP, it all depends on you, if you are planning on taking nice formal pictures on elegant night and it’s a one of a lifetime thing where you can update your pictures or get a set to send out for the holidays then go for it, dress for it. I’m old school and always wear a nice suit on those 2 nights whether I’m taking pictures or not. If you’re not one of those people that likes to dress up, nice jeans and a nice polo shirt will do.

  8. Onboard Panorama 3 times from Sept - Dec. and I kept up with my crew members friends that served me in the MDR and they had just received their boosters & flu shots together, just like the rest of us, a few got sick from it, not that they had Covid but had a bad reaction from the booster vaccine, on another site someone posted that 7 passengers got Covid on my last cruise, who knows if they got it from travel. There were 4000 passengers on my cruise and was 9 days since disembarkation which was Dec 24th, I’m still fine. Wear your N95 mask and keep your hands washed and clean and keep them away from your face. Don’t go into a full elevator, wait for the next one, it’s usually empty or take the stairs. The last night the comedy lounge was full to capacity, I got up and left, most of these comedians are on YouTube and you can see them there.

4 day cruise in February, nothing to worry about.

  9. Hello Enzo, I drove to the Maya Hotel and spent the night prior to cruise day, the Maya Hotel has 2 Tesla wall chargers over by building 3 and a Charge Point charger by building 1, charged to 100% and the next morning drove to the terminal. If you don’t have FSD then you don’t have summons. All that’s needed is turn off both Sentry mode and the cabin overheat protection, The cabin over heat protection isn’t needed now because it’s been cold out but still turn it off.  The Maya Hotel is less then a mile from the cruise terminal parking lot. After 7 days away My 2019 Model 3 SR+ was down to 97%’which is plenty of charge to get me home in San Diego. Last May I did a 6400 mile road trip cross country and charged to 100% many times with no battery degradation. We live in a good climate for batteries so don’t worry about charging to 100% especially on road trips, it’s also good to re-calibrate your batteries once a year. You can go to the TMC site for more information.

We are booked in a Family Harbor stateroom on the Panorama.  It says that kids get free specialty dining in select restaurants.  Anyone know which restaurants are included/excluded.  I'm assuming Chef's Table is excluded for sure, but was curious about experiences with others.

Simple google search, it says Most so you should call ahead to find out which ones are available.

  11. I’m pretty much done with the foods on Carnival, I have a Miracle cruise Feb 6th then a Conquest cruise May 23rd and Magic on Nov 5th, I’m hoping that the foods in the MDR are better there and I will write about them. After that I’m going to try Celebrity. I don’t eat much onboard, on a Keto Diet I’m hardly hungry and I also do One Meal a Day (OMAD) while at home so when I do go on a cruise I expect better.
