Following. I'm on the 4/28 sailing. I really wish I could find an updated schedule of ship activities, but I'm having no luck.

    Ditto! I’ve been searching too.

We will be sailing on Paradise on Monday. I'll get as much info as I can and post when we get back.

  2. I just went through this on Wednesday for our upcoming cruise on Monday. The first time I called around 2pm I was on hold for 30 minutes and choose the call back option. I had not heard back so around 7pm I called again and was on hold for 2.5 hours. Finally spoke to an agent who canceled one guest in our cabin due to a positive covid result. I had to pay the cancellation fee and was given an email address to send the covid results to and request that the fee be returned as a future credit.

And lo and behold around 5am Carnival finally called me back, lol. I couldn't believe they would return a call at 5 in the morning, such a weird time!🤷‍♀️

  3. UPDATE...just wanted to follow up. The wifi worked great on the ship, my VPN, not so much. Second day of the cruise I started having issues so I went to the internet cafe and the worker helped me get on, not sure what he did but somehow I was able to access our work servers. The next day my VPN was blocked again, I tried everything and then went back for more help and this time he couldn't get me back in, it was blocked. So if you need to access VPN definitely contact your employers IT dept. to make sure this is something they allow or if they can make an exception for you. My job does not allow any international access to their servers which we were not aware of.

If you are on the Sky then we are apparently on the same cruise!  I was also looking for MUTS info...

Yes, see you on the ship!

Just off 3 weeks on the Sky.  Sorry, but the movies in the evening were old and tired - that is when they actually had one.  I'm talking the Blindside, etc!!!  The only one we had that was current was the the Free Guy.  Next closest to being current was Bohemian Rapsody.

Well that's a bummer, that's one of my favorite past times! Thanks for the heads up.

It’s a shame that Princess reps won’t even read the Gift Cards FAQs to provide accurate info.

Q: Can I redeem a Princess Cruises Gift Card as payment toward an existing booking or for onboard products and services?
A: Yes, the Princess Cruises Gift Card is flexible to use.  Gift Cards may be redeemed via Cruise Personalizer for cruise bookings that were made by calling 1-800-PRINCESS, or through your travel consultant for bookings made by your travel consultant.

The Princess Cruises Gift Card may also be applied toward the guest's onboard folio account once the cardholder embarks a Princess Cruise line ship for their cruise vacation experience.  To apply a Princess Cruises Gift Card to your folio, you must present your Gift Card to the Passenger Services Desk onboard your cruise.

    https://www.princess.com/learn/cruise-gifts-celebrations/overview/gift-cards/faqs/

Thank you! It even says it can be redeemed on board on the back the card in the fine print but she had me worried. Thank you for this info!

Just responding to this. Not to the additional questions re: adding onboard.

I buy refundable onboard credit by sending a copy of the card to my PVP. I've read elsewhere you can also do it through chat. The OBC can be bought in any amount, you are not limited to the $25 - $50 - $100 (I've even bought odd dollar & change values)

    That's great info, thank you!

Ha! So much incorrect information from Princess.

You can call and buy OBC with your gift cards OR you can go to guest services once on the ship and they can add the card directly to your account.

I did both of these in January for my cruise on the Enchanted

Quick Note: Keep your gift cards once applied if you cancel the funds are put back on the same gift cards

Thank you so much! I trust the info here from the pros!!

  8. Hello. I have some gift cards I'd like to add to our account. I called Princess on Tuesday and was told I could do it onboard. The same rep called me back yesterday and told me she wasn't 100% confident in the information she gave me so she asked her supervisor and was told I needed to redeem them online before boarding and I would not be able to do it onboard. I have tried to do it online, but unless I am purchasing something I have not been able to figure out how to add the balance to my account. So can these be applied onboard or is it possible to do on the website?

  9. I use Fidelity and Webull. I have CCL shares in both (but the majority in Fidelity). IMHO if you cruise often it is worth owning the 100 shares. I purchased mine when the pandemic began and the market tanked for an average of $11 a share. After 6-9 more cruises (depending on length) I will break even. Wish I would have purchased 20+ cruise ago.😐

Thank you so much! I sent mine in about 2 weeks ago, was getting nervous since we sail this Saturday so I gave them a call. The rep Rosie was amazing and got mine all sorted out in less than 8 mins. She said they have over 3000 emails in their queue ad are working as fast as they can to get caught up. My credit is on my account now, less than 10 hours later.

I did a “working” cruise on Majestic last month. No issue with WebEx (similar to Zoom). Voice was very clear on both ends. No issue with VPN connection. Internet speed was relatively fast, I didn’t notice any difference between working from home or working at sea. If your VPN requires 2-factor authentication then you may need to have internet connection for 2 devices for both your laptop and your phone (assuming you use authentication app linked to your phone).

Thank you! I am very worried I wont be able to gain access via VPN. I do have the 2 factor authentication on my phone, so I will make sure I purchase the internet package for multiple devices.

  12. Unfortunately this will be my first “working cruise” and I will need to use Zoom for a 2-3 hour meeting one day. Has anyone had success with this? I’ll be on the Sky in the Caribbean.

Also does anyone know if you are able to access a VPN network via their internet? To access my work emails I have to log in via VPN and I’m hoping that is possible.

I really wish I could get away from work completely but things have come up that I have to be available for.😕
