  1. Both are great times to go!! Have done mid March the last several years with no problems. I am a school counselor and have found there is a large number of school personnel on board during spring break with their families. We and have also done summer numerous times. I would choose the one that gets you the best price for the best available cabin that you are interested in.

  2. I too have cruised multiple times during hurricane season with only one trip affected. I am not at all worried about my safety or the awesome customer service provided by Disney I am concerned about missing my cruise entirely due to a storm....not likely to happen and not anything I will lose sleep over but sure would be disappointed :( if it did happen. Insurance or not an 8 year old would be pretty sad to not be getting on a ship come October 9! We were on the shortened Fantasy sailing last October due to hurricane Matthew. Disney was more than fair with credits and while we certainly did not let it ruin our time, we had a great trip, but we would have much preferred our original 7 day eastern itinerary to our shortened 6 day western cruise. The days leading up to the cruise were stressful as well not knowing if we were going or what would happen, which pales in comparison to the stress of folks living in the affected area I know. If I remember correctly some of the shorter cruises out of FLA were cancelled. That would stink! We are also headed to the park for the weekend prior and after our cruise and would like to not have a rain drenched Not So Scary Halloween party! Keeping fingers crossed for a calm hurricane season this year. Hopefully Harvey and Irma will be the end of it! (yn)

  3. We paid a $400 deposit in June for a 4 night on Brilliance in January 2018 with a TA and a $500 deposit for Harmony October 2018 booked directly with RCCL while onboard the Empress. Just checked a travel website for a friend for Harmony as well and it was a $500 deposit. We did book non refundable so that could have increased the deposit price.

  4. Does anyone know if the Dream 4 night Halloween on the High Seas sailings have the optional formal night? Since they have the halloween costume night I thought that may replace the optional formal. I would be perfectly happy NOT to pack evening wear but my daughter loves "fancy night" and would be disappointed if we did not bring formal attire and others were wearing it. Thanks in advance for responses.

  5. We have had these cabins on both Allure and Oasis and love them. I prefer these over regular balcony cabins. We enjoy the people watching on the zip line, rock wall and boardwalk while still seeing ocean views. We have never had a problem with the noise. You can definitely hear movies and dive shows but we have never been ready for bed while they were going on so wasn't an issue for us. We enjoy watching the dive show from the balcony. On our most recent cruise we had 11327 and 11325 great views from both. Have also had 11321 and 11319 and had good views from there as well. They played epic fails, bloopers and funny animal videos a lot on the big screens on our last cruise and my daughter loved to sit out and watch anytime we were in the cabin getting ready for dinner or breakfast. If you are uncomfortable looking across the ship and seeing other people looking back at you, or if you are early to bed types they are not the cabins for you!

  6. We did 150 Central Park on Oasis in May with my then 7 year old, she has since turned 8! She loved it! We were there about an hour and a half if I remember correctly. The waiter we had was awesome and very interactive with her. She is a frequent cruiser though and used to long dinners. She enjoys eating too :) so she may not be a typical 7 year old. We did eat fairly early that evening so it was not full when we arrived, that may make a difference in the amount of time that you are there. Enjoy your cruise!!

  7. On our last three RCCL cruises Oasis, Freedom and Allure it was loaded automatically on my daughters card. We did not have to go to guest services but word of warning.... on each ship we had issues with games not working but still charging the pass. This happened multiple times on multiple games in multiple locations. My daughter just turned 8 last week so we were of course with her and noticed and started paying close attention. I work with middle schoolers and I think most kids would not even notice the deductions they just keep scanning the card until it works or move on to another game. Each time after we started keeping a close eye on it we contacted guest services and they always credited the amount back onto her card and never seemed surprised that it was happening. It appears to be a wide spread problem that will eat into your kids allotted amounts very quickly,

  8. We booked onboard Allure in 2016 for Oasis in 2017 first time booking onboard no issues whatsoever. Booked onboard Freedom in march this year for Alaska 2018 with multiple issues. My mother and I both applied for the rccl credit card to receive additional discounts. Mine was approved immediately while hers was denied which is laughable because she has credit score in the 800s and no debt to speak of. Shortly after we got home she received her approved credit card with her first name and my last name! When she called to get it corrected they told her she would have to submit her proof of a name change. It took multiple phone calls and an in person appearance at the bank to get the card issued in the correct name. A little scary to think they have your social and full name but still issue you a credit card with someone else's name on it :o

  9. I am divorced and have full custody of my child I have taken her on seven cruises and flown out of the country for land based trips 3 times. Our names match on our passports if that makes any difference at all. I have never been asked for documentation however I always have the documentation with me just in case. You can google parent consent to travel forms there are several available. I usually use the one from the state department.gov site and get it notarized. It's always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Congrats on new baby!!

  10. That is the itinerary I am interested in since our trip a few weeks ago changed from Eastern to Western because of the hurricane. We really just want to go back on the Fantasy for a full week and are tired of Western. I am on the Disney Cruise Line site and it is not showing for me. Where are you seeing it? I looked this morning when I got up on my laptop and then again just a minute ago on desktop at work thinking it may be a computer issue. So weird! Thanks for your help!!

  11. So frustrated! I have been watching for date/pricing for several weeks and when they are finally posted the week I need is not listed! What is up with that? Where is the Fantasy the week of March 10, 2018? Does Disney ever charter? Is that why it would not be showing up, or just glitch in system?
