My husband and I will be on the Indy at the same time as you and your wife, we are close neighbours from Wickersley nr Rotherham,
This is our 4th time on the Indy and we love her.
Also, there is a roll call on Cruise Critic, if you look under Royal Caribbean Meet & Mingles and this sail date.

We are on Indy next month and i am disappointed that lunch is not mentioned. When we was last on Indy and was in a suite the lunch was really nice. You had a basic choice of chicken, steak or salmon with accompanying sides.

Has anyone recently been to the Mystery Dinner Theatre on Indy, I have seen it advertised on my cruise planner and we board in 5 weeks time and wondered if it was worth the $55 each ?
-
Our muster station was outside and it looked like most of the people went outside, I think we were on deck 4 and where we stood the lifeboats were right above us. It's cramped and one woman was complaining and kept rolling her eyes. It lasted about 5 minutes and that was it.
Many thanks for that, sounds like it was before.

We are on Indy next month and somebody told me that the emergency muster drill has changed ? When we were last on Indy everyone ship wide had to go to the Promenade deck and report at their muster station. Has that changed to different venues around the ship ? Many thanks.

As the OP , this will be our 2nd RCI cruise . On our 1st we was outside the Diamond lounge and our sea pass card worked. We chatted to the conceige, who was really nice and talked about the various facilities in the lounge. She never said your not allowed in here. But i will check when on our next cruise in May.

‘’I DON’T BELIEVE IT’’ those posh people in the suite’s want all the steerage class kicked out the CL and now they want to use the DL with us poor people. DL on Inde is much nicer then the CL which if I’m not wrong becomes the SL on the 1st May and D+ will not be able to use it anyway no doubt someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
That will throw the cat amongst the pigeons !!! so where will all the Diamond passengers go ? There are quite a few Diamond and + members on our roll call who are talking about how much they are looking forward going back into the DL on the 14th May when we sail !!!!
-
As others have posted, it is not supposed to work that way. Your card is only supposed to open the Concierge Lounge door.
Whether it happens any other way is pure happenstance.
Many thanks, don't want to be ejected or be persona non grata !!!

Thank you for all the answers. We are going on Indy in May, we are in a suite and its been 3 years since we were last on her and our Gold card worked to open both lounge doors. Just wondered if it is still the same on Freedom class ships ?
-
Sorry if this has been asked before, but can suite guests use the Diamond Lounge if they are not Diamond status and like wise can a Diamond status passenger go in the Concierge Lounge if they are not in a suite ?

In the UK we have been told that regardless of the cabin category you can only have the e-doc which you download and print off.
-
Got another message from RCI on Messenger which adds to my confusion?
"Hi Mark, we don't provide luggage tags on request anymore, please print them out from your e-doc. VOOM will be available when you come onboard in May".
-
Enjoying the review, we are on Indy in May
-
That's what i thought. I was going to email them back and ask about their grammar. But i thought that was being a bit pedantic 😊
-
Just got an email back from RCI :-
"Thank you for your email regarding our internet services.
We still do not have an established date when we will launch VOOM on
Independence of the Seas; however, it is something we are currently
conducting to have. Currently, with the installation of pervasive Wi-Fi,
you are no longer confined to a specific location on the ship to have
connectivity. You can now stay connected from the comfort of your own
stateroom, while you lounge by the pool and even while having a drink at
the Schooner Bar. Daily and unlimited internet packages are available for
purchase onboard. The cost is $20 per device per day plus 50% off your
second device".
-
We are on Indy in just over 6 weeks time and I have been following the forum with the Voom updates with the recent Freedom Voom upgrade. I read a recent thread that some work has started on Indy last week, but the author wasn't sure what it was ?
Just wondered if anybody has further news about Indy and whether anything will be completed before she leaves for Europe on the 1st May ?
-
We are on Indy in 7 weeks time. Voom would be very welcome.
-
I totally agree with the comments so far. I cannot believe that RCI would be so petty and churlish about where children sleep.
-
On our last RCI cruise we removed all the saleable goods from the fridge and placed them next to it and informed the steward where they were.
-
We have booked 3 trips with this company Cruisingexcursions.com we travel in May so we have not used this company yet. But they get good and bad reviews looking on CC.
-
Thank you for posting your review :)
-
Enjoying your review :)
-
Depends which suite ? We have been in a OS on the same class of ship and that was a glass door.
-
From following threads on CC on this topic over the last few months (we travel on Indy in May) it appears that the Wi-Fi is ok for sending messages, so I think Facebook would be fine, but you cannot stream anything or use video messages.
On the ship there will be better hotspots and times of day than others.
