  1. Check with a company that specializes in Indian visas and confirm with RCI that you need a visa. When we did the initial Dubai to Singapore visas weren't required for any of the ports (Goa, Cochin, Penang, Kuala Lampur, Singapore). The immigration agents actually boarded the ship to stamp passports for our visits. We did travel to India for a three week stay about 4 yrs ago and went thru a visa expeditor to get our visas since e-visas weren't available at that time. I imagine a lot will depend upon how much time you'll be staying over after your cruise if it's ending in India.

  2. We had an interior with virtual balcony on Anthem a couple of weeks ago. Ours was on deck 12 and the ones that were more square than rectangular. They split our beds with no significant issues. Our cabin had the closets/drawers on each side of bed so when beds were split the comforter made it hard to open the drawers since the side tables were moved to between the beds from their normal place of between closet and bed. No issues once comforter folded down at night. Loved the square layout that kept entrance from being so narrow.

  3. Just make sure that if booking 3 & 3 and plan to sleep 4 & 2 there are enough beds especially if one is an inside cabin none of which have sofas. You really need a PVP to help you put unless you're patient enough to spend a lot of time looking at deck plans. The PVP can also see all available cabins and not just the 10 that you can see with each search. Check out Steve's cruisers FBpage(PVP). That's who I use.

  4. Now you're making me think! We are bringing grandchildren (and their parents) next week and was thinking we would be able to take a banana or something for the toddler to tide him over till lunchtime but guess that's a no-no? Re-plan needed...... Thanks OP for bringing this up!

You absolutely can't take any fruit off the ship. We bring bresjfast bars abd dried fruit and nut mix in small zip lock bags and never any issue getting it on or off ship. The dogs are looking for fresh fruit and especially bananas.

That works as long as it was a wash for total cost. We booked our Sep cruise on an early saver that didn't have onboard credit but had a 2 category upgrade is, under today's new offer, $50 more pp since no upgrades are included. However we have a very desirable aft cabin below the aft pool and hot tub area on Dream and only one cabin remains. We love being right at the aft stairs/elevators.

  6. That would freak me out to not have a cabin assigned until then. My mom's need for an accessible and the total uncertainty is why I've never booked a guarantee though. Wish I could though since they are always so much cheaper.

I fully understand that type situation. We never do guarantee inside cabins since there are so many we would hate to get.

  7. It's even worse, you have to pay for a new passport if you run out of pages. I still recommending saving all pages for visas and required entry/exit stamps we did a cruise three years ago from Dubai to Singapore and the entry/exit stamps for the ports took up 8 pages. We have a 10 year Visa to India which was affixed to Passport by Indian Immigration and that still happens in countries where you will need to obtain a visa for visits longer than a 1 day stop. Luckily some don't have to be affixed to your passport. I'd just prefer leaving the pages blank until needed.

  8. Usually you get those calls when they have a person looking to book your category cabin. Sometimes it's as simple as a family of 4 needing the extra beds that might in the cabin you and hubby got. I was told that final head counts are done about 10 days before sail date and matched to specific cabins and sometimes they find 3 passengers booked in a cabin for 2 so they have to start moving people around. Our last cruise was "oversold" which only means they have more than the typical capacity count of 2 per cabin so the juggling around sometimes is more complex. We had a guarantee cabin and was morning of cruise before we had an assigned cabin due to that very issue.

  9. If we don't have to rush to airport or don't have an excursion planned, we just check out of cabin when requested, have a leisurely breakfast and then find a nice comfortable place to sit. One cruise we were some of the last off and went downstairs when staff made their rounds looking for stragglers. We were in San Juan where you can't check bags at most airlines until 2 hrs before flight and there is nowhere but the floor at the airport to sit and wait. We were way more comfortable waiting on the ship since we had already done everything we wanted to do in Old San Juan.

  10. What you actually get in oorts, that have any passport stamping office is a "decorative" stamp. The easiest way to confirm where to get it on each island is to Google "decorative passport stamps" for each island. I did that several years ago for a cruise and decided it wasn't worth it and wanted to keep visa pages blank for places we might go that requires a visa. There is now a charge for getting additional visa pages in your passport so i I wouldn't fill them up with decorative ones. If you do it, I'd suggest taking some small card stock or a blank travel diary to get stamped.

  11. Sorry hit send too quickly. You can bring any type of non-alcoholic canned beverages just nothing in bottles except wine.

If you find that Harrah's will charge you for parking, check out Fulton St garage online. We reserve rooftop parking there and last time for 7 night cruise was $59 including tax. They have shuttle and guys to handle bags. If you do keep car at Harrah's and have in/out privileges I would drive checked bags to port and check them but be aware that traffic is really bad between 9 am and 10 am when the previous cruise is still disembarking and new cruisers beginning to arrive.

The spa on the Dream is one of the best in the fleet. They have day passes and week long passes you can purchase to use the "Cloud 9" saunas, steam rooms, mineral water therapy pools, etc. Massages & other services are extra

There are 2 elegant nights where the dress cost doesn't require formal evening attire but men are asked to wear slacks and collared shirt and ladies most anything but exercise apparel, swim attire or shorts.

We love the Dream and always have a great cruise. It was just refreshed in drydock a few months ago and should look great!

  12. We love to spend time on the wrap around deck on 5. There are quiet places to sit, 4 hot tubs, some nice places to stargazer at night and there is a designated smoking area aft that hubby always has to find.

In addition to your questions remember that you can each bring one bottle if eine and a 12 pak of canned sodas, juice onboard. Just put everything in a roller bag since they will open cardboard container

  13. You have to check your exact cabin category not just the generic pricing to determine price drops. If you have onboard credit with existing reservation and the promotion that has lower price changes in fare would be considered a rebook in so you would most likely lose your OBC. The best thing to do is call Carnival if you booked directly or your travel agent to get a comparison between what you have now and what a current promotion is offering.
