  1. What does budget even mean? I choose to use my 'budget' for 3 or 4 cruises in an inside cabin - the next person may choose to use their 'budget' for 1 cruise in a suite. The thing is we're still all on the same ship, eating the same food, watching the same entertainment and sitting on the same sunbed. I still love P&O 😊 budget or not. It would appear there are a few problems occasionally but are you all not having the same problems with empty shelves in shops or buses not turning up due to lack of staff? The whole world has been through a lot in the past couple of years and I doubt there isn't a person alive who hasn't been affected in one way or another. Hopefully everything will get back to normal sooner rather than later.
  2. I was just changing my bedding and had to smile at the dog walkers outside - it looks like they're off on a military operation - flak jackets with doggy water bottles hanging from them, treats in the pockets, pooh bags, coats for the dogs etc. When I had a dog we put his lead on and off we went (pooh bags in pocket 🙂) The doggy business is HUGE nowadays, near us there is doggy playschool, doggy daycare even doggy cafes. I'm very much a lover of all animals and would have a dog at the drop of a hat if we didn't live in an apartment but I have to wonder where it will all end.
  3. Your sense of humour always makes me smile kalos 😊
  4. Is it me or does this emoji look like someone in their underwear bending over 😀 Time for a trip to Specsavers I think........
  5. Just in case anyone is interested I have seen this soup in B&M today at 4 tins for £4
  6. What does status match get you please? Is it discount on drinks and slippers etc?
  7. So to sum it all up - Some of us have been on the receiving end of bad behaviour Some haven't Some of us have witnessed bad behaviour Some haven't Some of us like P&O Some don't Some of us are nice to other people Some aren't Play nicely everyone and have a lovely afternoon 😇
  8. May be if you, or those you are travelling with, are affected on your next cruise by anti social idiots you won't find it so amusing. People pay a lot of money for their holidays and should be able to enjoy them in a safe and happy atmosphere. Someone suggested earlier that it be made clear before embarkation that anyone displaying serious unacceptable behaviour will be removed at the next port of call - along with everyone on their booking. Great idea.
  9. I hate to admit it but that may be an idea - have some visible security in the more popular bars where bad behaviour is more likely to occur. What a sad world this is becoming - security on a cruise ship 😒
  10. We must be really lucky as on all the cruises we've done we've only seen drunken behaviour once, surprisingly that was on an Aurora world cruise. The two men involved were 'happy' drunks and only in danger of injuring themselves dancing around on the pool deck. Luckily, the ladies they were with took control and removed them to sleep it off. Those of you amongst us who think alcohol isn't a problem wherever you go, cruises, holidays, local pub or town centre you are kidding yourselves. I live in a 'nice' area and go to 'nice' places but there is a generation around at the moment who don't care about anyone but themselves and have complete disregard for anyone else who may be affected by their actions. Obviously they are in a minority but they are there and I can't believe everyone hasn't been affected by them in one way or another. My last short break cruise (not P&O) was a disaster, not drunks but the lack of being able to get a drink. I said on this site at the time that some of the people cruising now are not people I want to be sharing a cruise with. Go on, shoot me down in flames but I'm entitled to my views - as are you all.
  11. Oh, I'm so sorry for assuming. When you talk about 'our Sarah' you all seem so very close. Best wishes for her speedy recovery.
  12. What a shock for you all. I hope your daughter is feeling much better soon x
  13. 2 weeks parking start of March for Iona cruise - £160 - what are they playing at????
  14. I just had a quick look and this 35 night cruise is still showing as £100 so I did a 14 night Arvia cruise for the beginning of April and it's showing as £243 😲 CPS that is shocking!
  15. Without going back and re-reading the thread, has anyone said their experience on this cruise was OK?
  16. I think it'll be OK as I haven't mentioned where its from! It feels like forever since I last emailed you! I haven’t been in touch because I spent Christmas and New year on the maiden voyage of P&O Cruises’ new ship Arvia. You may have seen this cruise in the news… The headlines were along the lines of “Furious P&O passengers claim cruise was so bad it totally ruined their Christmas” So, was this cruise as bad as was claimed? Well, truth is that the papers do quite enjoy to use the ‘ruined Christmas’ headline to get people to click! Some examples from this Christmas include: Mrs Brown's Boys viewers fume amid claims festive special has ‘ruined Christmas again’ I was gifted a cheap turntable – and it ruined Christmas Leeds mum says that 'Christmas is ruined' after claiming Timpson staff broke watch she bought for her daughter Man says Christmas is ruined after he twisted his ankle on Amazon parcel Sometimes, it doesn't take a whole lot to ruin someone's Christmas. So, when a couple of angry passengers onboard Arvia decided to contact the press, of course they jumped on the story. What a great headline that the UK's newest and biggest cruise ship as ruined Christmas - That's exactly the thing that the 'cruise haters who have never cruised' would love to read! But honestly... Yes, there were some organisation issues that meant that we had to queue for our Christmas dinner. Yes, there were some IT issues which meant that the wifi didn’t work. But those are my only complaints. Everything else was wonderful! These are common pitfalls that you get with a maiden voyage - and one reason why I would never usually book a maiden voyage myself! This cruise wasn’t actually meant to be a maiden voyage, It became one when the original maiden was cancelled due to the supply chain issues that are affecting the world right now. P&O Cruises wouldn’t have planned a maiden voyage for Christmas. The mix of maiden voyage teething problems and high expectations for Christmas made for the perfect storm! To counter any disappointment, P&O Cruises gave us £150 per person of onboard credit. This massive gesture must have set them back over £750,000 at a time when they’re not exactly rolling in cash. They also threw the best New Year’s Eve party I’ve EVER been to, So yes, I’m a very happy customer! (And no, I don't get paid to say that!)
  17. I've just been reading an email from a cruise blogger about this cruise - am I allowed to add a link or copy and paste what she had to say about this cruise?
  18. But it's very interesting if you're from Derbyshire!
  19. 😲 who would so such a thing? 😉
  20. Yes wowzz there is a little booklet that has all that information. I have written the emergency number and our Nationwide account number on the front of ours and it 'lives' with my travel documents Haven't done it for a few months but there was somewhere on the Flexplus website (or the UKInsurance website as they are the Company you are insured with) where you can get a confirmation of cover letter and just print it off. This was a requirement last time we travelled with P&O. I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I have phoned UKInsurance a couple of times and they have always been super helpful/friendly. Its really easy to get an extension for more than the allowed number of days or, if it is a very expensive cruise, you can extend cover for the higher cost,
